This was a tragic mistake and I honestly feel bad that many incident people died. BUT, that plane was flying in a restricted air space. The ship attempted to contact the pilot(s) of that plane but they didn't responsed. The sailers thought their lives were in danger and acted upon the incident. What is not seen in the video is the reaction of the sailor after they realized it was a civilain aircraft and the atempts to rescue any survivors. Perhaps we should apologize but it's not all our fault.

Rapid decrease in altitude is classic attack from a fighter jet. US navy sent multiple warnings to the civilan aircraft but the plane did not have the military frequency (IRANS fault).
As to the incident that happened before, they actually mistaked a fighter jet for a civilian aircraft.

The justification given by the crew is that it was at an low altitutde descending towards us in an attack appraoch. This is patently false because it was climbing AWAY from them (being a civilian craft and all).

This was a tragic mistake and I honestly feel bad that many incident people died. BUT, that plane was flying in a restricted air space. The ship attempted to contact the pilot(s) of that plane but they didn't responsed. The sailers thought their lives were in danger and acted upon the incident. What is not seen in the video is the reaction of the sailor after they realized it was a civilain aircraft and the atempts to rescue any survivors. Perhaps we should apologize but it's not all our fault.

If you read into the actual report, and I suggest you watch the Air Crash Investigations Flight 655 here on Youtube, you will see that the Americans contact the so called fighter jet on a MILITARY FREQUENCY, not a COMMERCIAL FREQUENCY. That should have been the indicator, because if it's a commercial airliner, it would not be able to hear ANY MESSAGE

@cantoon911 One of the crew members were so afraid of the events before that happened to another shit that he read that the plane was decreasing altitude rapidly when it was actually increasing steadily. Rapid decrease in altitude is classic attack from a fighter jet. US navy sent multiple warnings to the civilan aircraft but the plane did not have the military frequency (IRANS fault).
As to the incident that happened before, they actually mistaked a fighter jet for a civilian aircraft.
