@Juinor Yes, there are a number of books on Hsing-I that can aid you, B.K. Frantzis has a couple, Robert W. Smith, Wang Jing-Ming, all have good books on the subject, also look up 9 Little Heaven Martial Arts, they teach Hsing-I as well as Bagua and Tai Chi, and have videos on the subject that are very easy to follow. The concepts themselves are very simple and natural, the stance is in three sections, the method of rise, drill, overturn and fall that the hands take in striking, so much more.
It's a nice workout in the park. I learned a lot from just watching these guys do their routines. Moments like these helps me contemplate about the significance of what I understand about Hsing I. There's always something to learn from these video clips from youtube. Hey! keep sending those martial arts videos, because our freedom to choose our instructors and martial arts are based on our ability to look at these videos.
Just curious, do you use your drill fist as a set up (bridging), or as a fist (hitting). For the most part.
I ask because you present the drill fist in your form, almost how its done in my lineage. And everyone has many variations of how they apply 5 elements.
It can be a set-up, block, or strike. Applications usually look a bit different and the form is mostly for structure and body mechanics. This was taken in my first week of xing yi training with Master Han.
Lucky Id love to train with him! I do not know why but I have lately been very much into Xingyiqaun. Ive been doing other martial arts such as judo TKD and Okinwana Karate but Ive always have been into internal martial arts and I do qi gong regularly. But I like Xingyiquan the best.
Almost identical to our form. Preformed very well, except maybe the foot work where the heels land before toes, so occasionsnally the hands slightly lag the feet.
How so? This is probably one of the more common methods of xingyi, I think. Though there's a lot of different branches (some don't even use santi ;)).
In many, many ways. The opening is different, the order of elements is different, certain movements are slightly different, the energy is different and there are numerous mini-techniques that seem to have been omitted. It is vary nice to see the variations in how this form can be done.
In traditional theory the elementals run in the order you mention here, but in many lineages of Xing Yi Quan the order is: Pi, Beng, Zhuan,Pao,Heng, as it is here
thank you very much. After many years of sidelining Hsing-yi and only now restarting it to compliment Bagua, you have just given me inspiration, once again thank you both.

The order of the Five Elements is different in this video. Usually it's Metal, Water, Wood, Fire, Earth. Just an observation, not a critique.

Yes, you're right, I thought the same too - It's usually on the creation cycle: metal creates water, water creates wood etc....Good observation!

Good, your five elements in especially water elments is very similar than my.
Good jing (power) too.
