@PingOnThis Yeah, after replying to that guy i thought about it a bit, and you're right. Most SF units do not want publicity at all. It's best to keep quiet.
@DangerousDan77777 The neighnouring countries of Laos and Cambodia were staging areas and major supply lines for the NVA and VC forces. The fact that the US could not enter these areas made it almost impossible to fight those forces properly, so the US was forced to create new special forces units like SOG to enter these areas. Also, the green berets were sent out in small teams to organize and train the indiginous Montignard tribes (who hated the viets) in South Vietnam to defend those border
@DangerousDan77777 It's very tough for us to all get along when there are so many competing ideals and ways of life all over the world. @Restrepo117 John Plaster wrote 2 very good books on the subject. SOG the Secret Wars of Americas Comandos in Vietnam is the title of the book that gives sort of an overview of what went on, very cool. The other is more his own story it's called Secret Commandos Behind Enemy Lines with the Elite Warriors of SOG. The thing that really struck me about that one is he tells all these hair raising stories, real life and death stuff, and at the end of his 3rd tour this guy is only 23 years old.
Intentionaly set up to die! kill the best and most patriotic so they don't come home and see the chaos all around home plate? We the 99% see right through the military industrial machinery! Time to stop it immediately!

@nissanlover Some SOG are Force Recon Marines buddy. It's a joint force. Not a department of the army. They got SEALS as well. You got some Marine hatred don't you buddy?
@offroaddude333 SOG= Studies and Observations Group...is the objective of special forces....SOG is not CIA. they might have collaberated on missions but they are separate entities...SOG is Army not marines, navy or airforce... spend 5 mins on google researching what SOG is then reply please cause i dont like explaining myself over and over
@nissanlover dude you look it up i already have and ive watched documentaries like this they recruited from all branches they even have web pages of most of the guys from SOG who died and what branch they're from
@nissanlover According to John Plasters book, SOG was created to take over a CIA program to recon Laos and Cambodia. Sog SEAL's trained indigs to go into North Vietnam and conducted a bunch or their own operations. It involved Army Special Forces, Navy SEAL's, and Recon Marines. Not to mention air assets from wherever they could get them. When you tell someone to research something, it's wise to know what you're talking about yourself. Right???
@mhia4 SOG IS NOT CIA....... WHAT DONT YOU GET ABOUT THAT? EVEN IF THERE OBJECTIVE WAS TO PHASE OUT THE CIA THIS WAS NEVER COMPLETED AS THE CIA STAYED WITHIN THE COUNTRY DURING AND AFTER THE CONFLICT....WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE TO JUMP INTO A CONVERSATION JUST TO BE PROVEN WRONG? lol

On another note, SOG involved all services not just Army. Don't make me copy and paste again here. I know how to do it now. You stated that it was just Army.

@mhia4 MACV SOG was purely army. SOG standing for Studies and Observations Group, Now there is all branches in Special Operations Groups. So it really depends on the context.
@hwpaintballer13 Hey homie I'm not so sure about that. SOG involved select people from the SEALs, Force Recon, and the Air Force according to John Plaster's book SOG. He told a few stories about SOG SEALs doing a bunch of POW and downed pilot rescues in North Vietnam. I think the Marines had a different area of operations than the Army but I'm sure they were involved too.
@mhia4 I've read the same thing. Many branches of the military were recruited for SOG based on their particular skill sets. I've also read that the SEALs and green berets were sent in by the CIA to organize local resistances into PRU's (provincial recon units) that were essentially mercenaries, or killers for hire as they put it. They were the strong arm of project Phoenix, meant to mimick the brutal tactics of the NVA and VC and root out their intelligence network.
HU-man-it-arian? Yah, thats how they sold it to USAF; U.N. & oh yes, the Great Peace Keeper is a euphemism for" i kill you & all your family, too; no descendents; finito... finis. ..tutto...todas... nothing has changed; just re-invented the players, and the "theatre"...
Let them tell you where the best lost three Soviet submarines sank and why towed transportik who drove the Marines, and generally about what was happening at sea during the Vietnam War.
Correct General Tangney, that is what those patrols exibiting incredible bravery and sacrifice are there for. They identify & pinpoint ///valid/// military targets, even if they themselves aren't supposed to be there.
@DemonicWeapons Those guys got pissed off, when they found out about extermination. What is thepoint of 12 SOG taking on a NVA regiment for 3 days, up the side of a jungle encrusted mountainside if War Criminal Kissinger is just going to carpet bomb every town & village in all of Laos or Cambodia and slaughter evey man, woman & child? Same goes for PRU SEALs down in 4CTZ, who crawl in & out of an entire VC basecamp to grab POWs, just to find out kissinger is murdering the entire province.
@bobisnohere1 yea dude the media is 90% liberal and run by corporations that are looking for controll, look back through history rome fell because of there version of media, its a controll device if they can keep kids envolved with liberal arts they wont be intune to whats going on in the real world, some of the coolest most understanding ppl Ive met have been seals and green berets.
Haha I lol'd when they were showing the actual extraction footage, but in a good way.
They bring in a whole convoy of helicopters, pick up the team using ropes and ladders, and as they dangle the team in midair they bombard and barrage the whole fucking location with fire from rockets, miniguns, cannons.
Fucking hilarious.
Thanks for the footage! I'm ready Plaster's book, it is kinda a tough read, there are a lot of acronyms and names to remember, do you have any advice?
@vermin089 I've read the book, never played a video game, and find it a comparatively easy read. I've read several, there are so many, going to the library tomorrow to return a few, what should I take out? I would like to read one or two from the enemy perspective. It's great to have the computer, I've watched all the pres. speeches referred to in the books right here on you tube. Most of the books have comprehensive glossaries, including Plaster's.
@PregnantHIppo9 In the book Plaster explains how he ran into few CIA guys who worked with them ;) Hudson might not be a real character but there were loads of CIA agents were on the ground at that time ;)
@vermin089 The way Plaster describes William Colby kinda sounds like Hudson.
"Catholic, Ivy league, with intelligent eyes behind horn-rimmed glasses, William Colby looked and sounded more like a corporate executive than the CIA's Saigon station chief."
and the sad thing is that all these young kids don't understand any of this...all they care about is the damn game...they dont understand the sacrifices these brave men made.
