  • WOW! I would be struggling for breath singing this in Japanese. This man has talent!

  • I imagined Brook from One Piece was singing this vers.ion

  • Kurisumasu taun...

  • It's interesting hearing how they extend words to fit the melody. Like when he says "Kissing isn't that unique".... the "unique" part sounds funny. U-u-ni-i-ku. Ends up sounding really chopping and forced.

  • I need the lyrics T 3T

  • The voice actor for the Japanese Jack is incredible.

  • This sounds so awesome! *___*

And the german Jack says "Nanu" because the actual translation of "what's this" doesn't fit and I find it to be so cute that the japanese Jack says "Nani" :D <3

  • I will never forget how to say "What?" in japanese now. "NANI?!"

I love how he say's "E Na!" XD so cute!

  • I will never forget how to say "What?" in japanese now. "NANI?!"

  • Oh my god! It's amazing!

  • Iina~

  • キスだ。良いな~~

  • nani? i love it **

  • Even before I'd clicked the link to this vid, I could imagine him going, "Nanda? Nanda?" XD And I was right--he said that. Japanese Jack is funny.

  • "Kurisumasu Taun?"

  • I always Loove Japanese. But I rather fall Out Boys version... Ö

  • Umm, that sounded very disturbing... I'm just going to leave it at that. ^_^

  • Unexpectedly cute. :)

  • omg, to me this sounds soo funny in japanese!^^

  • TNBC owns EVERY language!!

  • AWWWW! it's looks so cute, when he is the snowman and jumps behind the snowbear!! sooo KAWAIIIII!! hauuu~ OMOCHIKAERI!!

  • japanese is a cute language ;D xD

  • He sounds super cute, lol.

Is it weird if I have a crush on Jack...?

  • @RikuxDaisukeNiwa13

it's no different than crushing on anime/game/book characters :) I like Jack too, he sounds so adorable in Japanese!

  • @DreamScape1229 Haha okay, because I crush on anime game and book characters ALLL the time. xD.

    He really does!

  • ooow.. he's so cute in this version *-*

  • so cute i love this version too!!!!♥ listening to every version possible and so far this is up in my top fav!!!

  • His voice sounds nice in japanese.

  • xDDDDDDD me encanta :)

la voz es prácticamente igual a la del Jack español (de España)

  • @onnee26

    es cierto :3

solo que en español Jack le da mas pasión, pero esta version es genial !! *O*

  • so awkward. those stresses must be artificial-- japanese is super smooth.

  • I think it sounds better in English. LOL

  • least it doesn't sound completely messed up. wats weird though about the japanese is when they have girl singers, their all high pitched like a chipmunk!

  • So do you prefer deep voiced dikey american women singers? o__o

  • Uh, okaaaaay. That's just a common sterotype, but whatever you say. Besides, it doesn't matter what the language is; if I'm assuming correctly, all nations follow the same basic musical voice levels and pitches (or whatever that's called; I'm just referring to singers whose level is bass, alto, soprano, etc.), so whoever they picked for Jack had to have the same musical pitch as the original or else the harmony with the music would have been ruined. After all, this is Disney.

  • This dub is awesome. It almost seems more natural than the original.

  • NAN DA!!!! (now im going to be screaming this everywhere!)

  • *_*

  • It sounds like the German voice actors of jack. but in japanese xD *___* <3

  • @KyraUoka yeh!!! i looooove the german jack.

  • Thatßs what I thought :D The german Jack is really good I think ^^

  • @KyraUoka absolutly and the japanese "nande / nani" is really similar to the german "nanu" :D japanese is just a beautiful language

  • @AbbyGuard I know right?! Japanese is a beautiful language. Thats why i wanna speak it!~♥ I love you for saying that.

  • hahaha Oh so cute.

  • This dub sounds so perfect. Why can't we do the same in America?

  • A lot of movies are only dubbed when played in other countries, or given subtitles if they can't make it look like they are speaking that language at all.

  • Japanese Jack Rocks!!

  • AWESOME

  • It sounds so cool XD

  • Do you have it in russian?. lol

  • Quoto, io sono ancora indecisa XD

  • rofl, this is hilarious. XD

  • wowowow!!!! fantastic in japanese!!!! i love this language, and in this song is really great!!! nani?? :-P

  • Originally I watched the movie in English but if I had watched it in Japanese first, I suppose I would've thought the same of English, that it sounds weird somehow, as I would've been used to the Japanese version. When I listened to this song in German, which actually is my mother tongue, I was surprised and thought, it sounds weird, but actually it doesn't. Now I like all versions I have heard so far (English, German, Japanese and Italian that is).

  • true, almost sound same, btw i think i dont understand it =O sometime i understand like Ghoul

  • Kawaii desu!! xD

    hilarious but soo cute!

    "nande?!", "nani", "matte desu" xD

has anyone else noticed its kind of broken japanese?

  • lol,kinda sounds stoned

  • Nanda?

  • so simple XD im not quite advanced in my japanese lessons but i could understand most he says plus i kno the movie by heart in english XDDDD so it helps hahaha whoaaaaa I LOVE THAT MOVIE hurray for tim burton's genius!!!!

  • ma le parole sono tutte uguali!! ahahhah

  • Kurisumasu taun?

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Is it just me or does he sound younger than Jack in the English version? Maybe I'm just crazy, or maybe it was just the way he said 'nani' and 'nande' in a sort of way that makes it sound younger... Dunno.

  • usually when is 18 years old a japanese mecha pilot is ready for retirement.

This is weird because in first 40 years of their life, theyr aging is slower than for caucasians.

Below that age average asian seems and sounds quite younger than a caucasian born in same year.

Maybe is due to a better diet or lifestyle, i don´t know...

Or maybe (to answer now to your objection) is because japanese people usually is blonde, with green eyes, a nose like pinocchio and have an average height of 7´3´

  • kawaii!!!!!!!

  • I understood some words of this. But anyways this is hilarious! XD

  • ew.

that WAS my favorite song as a kid.

    not so much anymore

  • è orribile in giapponese!!! *

    *it's horrible in Japanese!!!

  • Uh mamaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!

    XD

  • The best versions of this songs are the italian, english and spanish version. In Japanese is quite horrible... U__U

  • It depends if you understand the language or not. You may have a preference for the sound of certain languages, but if you understand them it generally gives off the same air and, of course, meaning.

  • not really, the words of this is hallowen are much more macabre in italian.

  • Same airu andu miningu?

in this interpretation accent is too strong to be appreciated by a non-japanese, it clashes with the animation, wich is fluid.

  • What do you mean the accent is too strong?

  • Of course we do have different cultures, and same song reaches in different ways our minds, and of course one doesn´t recognize anything SU-TU-RE-I-N-JU (strange) in his own accent.

The song is very nicely written, but to average italian seems the voice follows too closely the echoes of the percussions.

everyone likes more what is more used too...

Maybe other comments were a little too rude but this style is not very popular in italy, altough has been used for the opening theme of ranma 1/2

  • I'm not Japanese! I'm Canadian and have studied the language for 4 years or so. You don't need to transliterate anything for me - my first language is English.

The English version was designed to match specifically with the animation, and thus there are problems with dubbing all other languages. These dubs shouldn't be criticized just because they are in a different language from our own. We shouldn't critique a language that we don't understand just because it is unrecognizable to our ears.

  • I understood this, assuming from your nick you studied some japanese i was trying to explain by typing something that is in a sound. and english is my third language.

did u hear the itslian version, by renato zero?

  • But saying "Same airu andu miningu" and "SU-TU-RE-I-N-JU" (and then putting it in English) is obviously laughing at Japanese-transliterated English - why would you try to explain "strange" by saying "SUTUREINJU" otherwise?

I heard it. I don't think the style differs much from the Japanese version - it's the same music in a different language. Maybe it's less "macabre" by some standards, but it's in the Japanese language and still sounds pretty eccentric.

  • as i told is hard to explain, maybe a japanese hearing italian version would tell: is too fluid for such music.

I´m still asking why in some japanese cartoons it seems everybody is an evangelic christian...

only answer that comes to my mind is the product´s target is a christian country from the beginning.

This is the opposite case, where a product already translated in 1000 languages had to be adapted to japanese, so we see what actually does a japanese translator for japanese childrens.

  • Wow, where the hell did that come from?

This song isn't about Christianity first of all - it has the same meaning as all the other versions. The translator translated the language accurately and there is no reference to Christianity except maybe Christmas as a non-secular holiday, which is all it really means in Japan.

Every Japanese cartoon has evangelic Christians? 2% of Japan's population is Christian. The overwhelming majority are Buddhist, shinto, or non-religious. Sorry.

  • this is my point: why majority of japanese cartoon are evangelic christian and this is often displayed without a reason, if in the land there are just 2% of evangelic christians?

wT6IfF2lXd0 see? does it make any sense for average japanese?

    or is anti christian propaganda?

  • What proof do you have that most Japanese cartoons have evangelic Christian ideas? I used to be a fan of them, and they don't. In fact, if any religious reference there are mostly Buddhist references when the characters attend shrines or have small shrines in their home for the deceased. You have no proof, and I don't know how it came into the conversation 'cause this isn't a Japanese cartoon. Now -anti-Christian propoganda? What?

  • of course or i´m not explaining well, or you search to misunderstand at any cost, but you know what? at this point i guess is the second one.

I have told, this is not produced in japan, most of japanese cartoon are born oriented to a foreign people, this was oriented to a world wide distribution.

so the song has been adapted according to japanese culture, and for this reason many non japanese don´t appreciate it like italian or german version.

  • Puffolotti, even if they did adapt anything to Japanese culture, we tend to adopt things to American culture when we dub their anime. (A riceball is not a sandwich! Stupid 4Kids!)

  • may be a rice ball is not a sandwich but i´m pretty sure that a man in fundoshi hanged by wrists to a cross labeled I.N.R.I is not a geisha.

But i don´t want to waste more time with such delusional people, so i admit, u are right, my countryfellows and me all told that we love this version.

Basically seems to me is this what you and the canadian are trying to demostrate... that babisaura told she liked it very much.

    i explained why.

  • if u still don´t understand, i have to assume my english is too poor and so i sail away...

  • BELLISSIMA!!! lol

  • This sounds actually quite scary :O

  • jaja que curioso se escucha jejeje

  • Nani does usually mean "What?"

But Japanese can be translated different ways.

  • yeah: nani/nan/nanda= What

    naze= why

    I wasn't sure :D

    Thanks!

  • is nanda! XD
