One of the things I like best about Robert Plant, is his introductions. He gets acquainted with the audience first, gives a little history of the song. Really cool.
I think that is is very cool when a person changes their songs to adapt to an older voice. There is no shame in that. I love the remake of Black Dog with Allison Crouch. I wish Rob Zombie would have thought of covering it that way first.
For the record, I was 9 years old in 1971 and listening to Donny Osmond and the Partridge Family.
I hate when he tries to do these shortcuts to keep from REALLY having to do it - Like when he does this to mellow out it instead of whaling it out like the original @ 2:30 I know he's older ect. just pains me when I know if it was donw like the original- how much better it would be.
Yes I agree. The hippie movement wasn't just about fashion and the music. You can copy the guitar playing Mozart but if you didn't know what it was like to live in a world with Nixon, the draft, Vietnam, and you could smell the hippies in the city parks, you are never going to play this song proper. Nixon was Hughes bag boy, wiretapping the DNC. Hughes and Nixon probably had the Kennedys killed. It was in that world that this song was written.
Worshiping man is such a strange idea to me. Don't get me wrong; recognize, appreciate, and support excellency. But your comment to me is just a bit much (especially to get 34 thumbs up). Fact is I doubt many of those people actually did not "get the feeling". Worship is a form of submission, submission that I think is not reserved for a simple bard whom if I think if you walked in after a fresh dump and took a whif.... no roses would be gracing your olfactory senses.

Not sure why he has a guitar. His instrument is his voice. That's all he needs to play.

Lol @ the woman sitting with her back to the group. Robert looks like he sniffed a lot of coke. Can't stop fidgeting when he isn't singing.
