1: What version of Halo do you have?(Trial/Full/custom)

If you have Custom, then you have to get a Map Converter to make them compatible with HMT. If that didn't work, try Google and see what solutions people give you. :/

hey the modding process worked for me. But when I make a game, right when it starts, halo minimizes and says exception. Then it says the send error report thing and then I have to exit out. How can I fix it?

The plugins work well for some things like modding projectiles, but like if I try and change the firing rate, I get some random error.

If the RoF fire text box is ever blank, if even for a second, ur gunna get an error. OR if its set to high. And u don't need the plugins for RoF mods, so not sure why u think u do. O.o

Are you by any chance using Halo: Custom Edition? If so, then you can't use HMT. You're going to need to look up how to export the maps to a format that HMT can read. I'm not sure how you do this, so don't ask me. :(

But if your not using Halo CE, then try doing a complete uninstall, then a full re-install of both Halo and HMT. If you ca, look that up on google as well. Google is genius. :P Good Luck

Yes. Before you mod, copy the original map(s) to somewhere you can find them.(A folder inside the Halo directory is best). Then you can mod the halo map, and when you want an original, just copy the backup back. If you want more then one version, rename the modded map something else. And when you want to use it, rename it to the original name(bloodgulch.map for example) and place it the map file directory. I want to make a video on this. In the next month I should have something for you guys.

HMT won't work on Halo Custom Edition. If you want to mod CE, you'll need some sort of exporter that will export Halo CE maps to a format HMT will read. And then you need a way to get back.

A lot people seem to be having this problem as of late. I think another user figured out how to fix it. I'll see what I can dig up on the problem.

Nope. All you need to play the map is Halo. When you mod a map, that modded map becomes the 'default' map. So you don't need any external programs to run it. ;) . But it is a good idea to back-up all your maps before modding them so you can go back to them later. I'll be working on a video on this soon(I hope).

Well, depending on how much you modified the initial jump height value, it may or not be noticeable. And thanks for subscribing!

That much, huh? Well it may have been a setting that needed saved. Try it again, and click the 'Save' button. If this doesn't solve the problem, try setting it to 20 and see if that makes you jump higher.

Make sure you are it C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Trial\maps\ when you try to open a map file. I covered this is my video so just re-watch it if you don't know how to get there.

Try using HHT(Halo Hacker Tools). Its a combination of HMT, a halo Hex editor, and i think a BMP export/import utility. If that still doesn't solve your problem, then you may not be able to mod. :/ .

Just outta curiosity tho, what is the error message that comes up?

Thats one of the bugs with HMT. For some reason, it won't work on some windows installations. I had this same problem myself. I'm not sure exactly what causes the problem, nor how to fix it. The only thing I can suggest is to completely uninstall it, then do a full install of HMT. If that doesn't work for you, then you could try and google that error code for HMT. Other then that, you may be forced to switch to alternate modding methods. :/

Ot's probably because you tried to mod halo while it was running. Make sure that halo isn't running(or, just make sure your not playing on the map your editing. Or, you modified something incorrectly and now your map is screwed. No worries, just Google original maps.

wubbyster92, go to the weapons tag and find the weapon you want to change. Click it, then go down to where it says Projectile in the scrolldown box to the right. Change the Projectile to 0 and go down to where it says Max and Min ROF. Change them to a high number, like 50. Make sure both min and max are the same. You probably want infinite ammo cause your weapon shoots faster so, still under Projectile go down to Ammo per shot. Change it to 0 and there you go(Save!)

if the maps dont show up, go to the normal map files and copy, dont paste, then when your trying to find the map files, paste it somewhere, then you have all the map files in front of you. Blood Gultch and all the other maps should be there

That wouldn't work. Because when you select the map file, you'll be modding the copied map file instead of the original. So unless you meant something different, this wouldn't help. ;)

Ok, to answer the question about the map file not being found, the only soulution i can think of would be to manually find the map file yourself. When you go to File-Open, navigate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Trial\maps\bloodgultch.map (if your modding the full version, the directory would be Halo, not halo trial.
