There is no such thing as an imperial shih tzu.It is a shih tzu that has been in breeded and has serious problems with health.It's not that it is not recognized it is just a physically unstable dog with problems down the line.Look it up.No such thing as an imperial shih tzu.I have one he is an AMERICAN shih tzu.He is completely healthy.

Some people can't tell the difference between a miniature shih tzu and micro shih tzu, Miniatures weigh about 6-7 pounds and Imperials weigh less than the miniature and it is as cute as any other shih tzu

A Chinesse Imperial Dog (wich is the real name) is not an original Shih Tzu. It's like a different breed like is the Doberman and Miniature Pincher, they are not the same breed but look the same but one is smaller than the other one. Back in the history 100s years ago you can see photos of a normal Shih tzu beside a Chinesse Imperial Dog.

@ChloeTV100 We had her evaluated by a vet last week, he was surprised that she had no joint or bone deformities and is perfectly healthy in every way. We had to get a rabies exemption certificate because our vet thought she was too small to vaccinate. She eats just about anything , including table food and has never been sick,

@veedub447 You are very lucky that she's healthy now because she is so small, normal Shih Tzus weigh 9-18 pounds...Was she a runt or did the breeder intend them to be this way? I am so surprised she is healthy, most dogs like this have a multitude of issues.

@veedub447 I'd be careful with feeding table scraps to your Shih Tzu. It can cause kidney stones to form if fed frequently to her. I'm sure you know kidney stones are dangerous and can cause major pain to your little girl. I'm just looking out for a fellow shih tzu lover and hope she stays as healthy as she looks in this video.
