I have a question: So why do we all think the drum dance is Hmong just because the dancers are Hmong? Hans, Koreans, others dance like this too. That's why it always falls down to the question, what is Hmong dance. Am I right?
the first part is Korean song. the second part is the actual Hmong drum dance. actually, each ethnic group has its own way of drum dance. 4 sides drum dance is unique to the Hmong from China. Also, the drum beat is original Hmong Xiangxi beat.
i hope our people continue to preserve our traditions, clothes, religion and etc... because we have something that other ethnic groups do not... we are a very old group of people......... i'm afraid modernity is changing our people very rapidly.
@niamtxiv true especially the fact that my friends think i'm weird for taking an interest in my culture just proves that so many kids who simply just don't care
there are much to learn about our culture. That's the most interesting part about our culture. Many kids are ignorant. Some Hmong still think we are only from Laos and some Hmong still think we're from Mongolia or Siberia. My gosh. lol
@niamtxiv yeah the ones that hate it most wen i talk about it is my parents so hard to get it through to them, since they're older they say all there ideas and theorys are correct or that I'm not correct, and that other groups that can't speak our language r not our people
Never seen Hmong Chinese girls perform in modern clothing lol this was the first time and they are so fine.
