already sold my canon xlh1, n got the 7d. unbelievable how shit changes in a few short years. got 3 lenses Tamron 70-200 2.8 macro - tamron 17-50 2.8 vc n everyone needs a 50mm 1.8 prime 4 100. bucs. the 50 is the best lens lol. geeat shots in this test, btw.
Very beautiful!could you tell me how did you achieve that rich black please?Did you adjust the contrast?use after effects or something?filter?I cant believe it's raw footage.
Wow... EXCELLENT video man! Best I've seen for 7d and there's been a couple of good ones. My 7d is annoying me cos of the the converting (still haven't sorted it). Photography is wonderful though!
video is highly contrasted .. is it the raw video or u used some color grading..? let us know please.. and yea good work done .. keep up the good work --- :)
Very Nice work! I also have the 7D and playing with different software to see which one I like before making a final choice. Today I made one with Adobe primere pro using proxy files.
The factory setting of the 3' monitor it's sharper than the h264 we got from files...so, as I told, we corrected only the last sequence, the seagull (hand-held camera...).
great. just great.

Any use of ND filters ?

I love how you caught the dog peeing at 0:44!
I love some of the little focus tricks you do to focus on the distant fisherman. Very nice work and interesting choice of song.

Raw 7d footage. Cya
maurojohncapece 2 years ago
That was some of best footage I have ever seen.
I am just being to use the 7D and I am curious why you downconverted the files to sd instead of using the native files?
ben18181 2 years ago 4
Cause .mov 7d raw files are too heavy to edit into Nle pc. ^^

a) what were your original shoot settings?
b) proxy settings?
c) final export settings for youtube?
QuickCanon 2 years ago
a) 1080 25p
b) Yes...downconvert all files in SD using media encoder, edit, than rename clips. Remember to create an HD desktop project so...
c) a normal 720 25p mpg it will works fine or use another NLE and export.

@maurojohncapece why do we need to downconvert files?? native 7D files cant edit directly?? newbie hir

Nice... I'm going to upload my new clip soon. I'm still working on it & learning Final Cut Pro at the same time. FCP is a lot different then Vegas.

any color grading? it looks great
vnguyen972 2 years ago
Nope...they are not color graded. We corrected only the last sequence, the one of the seagull, that were a little bit overexposed.
maurojohncapece 2 years ago
great job. is this 24p, 25p or 30p? what did you edit this with?
ikicaq 2 years ago
Thanks. This is 1080 25p. To edit we used Adobe Premiere CS4 (using proxy files low res method).
