this song seems to represent what I feel like when I'm speeding down the highway, wantonly breaking all the traffic laws, and tossing my head back and laughing
@deepsilver7 no... i asked "how is the SONG Called...I was talking about a song i remeber... and "we had a dream last night, ..." is a part of the lyrics. but someone already had answered it...
This reminds me dystopian lanscapes, new world order and the cloning of humans.
Some of my favorite other acts who do dark cryptic tunes well are most likely Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, Coil, How To Destroy Angles, DJ Krush, Gary Numan, Massive Attack, Amon Tobin,Throbbing Gristle, AllFlaws
@blitzitup Nice taste dude :) Check out Faap de Oaid by Tool. Scary fucking shit! Perhaps also Sunn O))) Aethenor, Lustmord, Clara Rockmore, Nurse With Wound, The Orb, Orbital, Shpongle, Ott, Solar Fields, Global Communication, Tricky, Burial, Boards of Canada etc.... the list goes on and on and on...
@Sirandoral oH MY God dude I was gonna tell you what album it was from and then I saw you posted it, so I started listening to the song and after watching this, I nearly had a heart attack, I had throw of my headphones and glasses at my monitor and go lay down on my bed, Holy fuck I almost died! Did I mention Im MeGa high off spice?
I have to say, Ambient music is really good for writing novels. When I was working on this year's NaNoWriMo I listened to BlueMars. It really is Inspirational. Space Travel Radio. Good stuff.
a month ago, me and my buddy were smokin some outstanding weed late at night and i remember i was getting tired. My friend was watching the movie 'The Thing' and i was lying on the other side of the bed and Biosphere was playing on the background. I fel asleep and had such wonderful visions :) i was reallllly high though :) i was in some weird beautful place where all these UFO's were hovering and the people weren't really surprized. it was like we all knew.. Something like that :)
You're a very talented person, Akkad. I had a look at your My Single Novel project and found that it was along the lines of an idea I already had. A novel or story half based in fact, with music on every page, so that people could hear what I was hearing when I wrote what I wrote.
I run a blog myself. It is called Acrocosm. I think you would appreciate the music I have chosen to put there.
If you're interested in collaborating creatively, contact me.
@PlurVision I opened the door to the realm of ambient music a couple years back, it has changed the entire way I look at music and life. Try out Solar Fields, Carbon Based lifeforms, The Fahrenheit Project, Aes DAna, Proem, Vibrasphere, Ulrich Schnauss and or Sounds from the Ground.
akkadll,,, I thank you 4 uploading this soundscape.......I really apreciate the work you did with the images-sounds-emotions-feelings-intention.....I enjoyed very much....this is what I call art,,, not what the "experts" want us to believe is art.
@psiPeople Thanks for your kind words. Probably each one of us could be a fantastic artist if we were able to express our feelings. And the difference between a career artist and occasional artist is that the second one doesn't work on under any pressure (either time, artistic influences or other requirements), but his own feelings, which is more expressive I think.
@psiPeople - lol. well said and very true. totally agree about the "experts". true art has lifeforce. it can be felt and doesn't need a dissertation to explain what the hell it is and why purely intellectualized conceptualism should be revered. this is an awesome video to an all-time fav ambient track. captures very well some of the inherent imagery of the music.
I recommend getting the double CD 'Substrata/Man with a Movie Camera' (2001) if you can find it...because then you get the track 'Endurium' too. There's also a 2009 live CD too, entitled 'Wireless.'
This is a trippy song...Unfortunately YT doesn't quite give it justice with the sound compression. This genre of music relies heavily on the sound quality to appreciate the full spectral array of sounds and textures. Still, Thanks for posting

Oh my god, Biosphere are so boring.. Boards of Canada are just genius cos its actually musical, but this is just noise. Noise is nice sometimes but this just bores the hell outa me...
Well, that's a pity. Music like this tends to stimulate one's creative glands, and if you had the patience to sense beyond the droning, recurring tones you'd be surprised how well this might augment your creativity. However, if you do not seek this kind of music for inspiration, then I suggest you go find something slightly more unambiguous.
It's easier to get into something with melodies, traditional occidental tonescales or a defined drumbeat. But music without that ingredients isn't less musical. It's just another concept of creating music. The music of Biosphere is often constantly moving and standing still at the same time (more like a snapshot) while Boards of Canada's tracks are more "song orientated" if that makes sense.
I need to put together some playlists for my massage therapy class. I need some relaxing stuff. I am already using Carbon Based Lifeforms *World Of Sleepers* & Aphex Twin * Selected Ambient Works Vol. 2* If you guys have any suggestions I would really like to hear them. Thanks.
Global Communication, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Peace Orchestra, Tosca and try to find "Space Night" broadcast on the German TV station "Bayern3" it is very good music. A lot of fun :-)
The more I watch it the more I am tempted to think that this could have been part of the "Lord of the Rings" film music, there's monumental "mystique" in this...
I've seen Twin Peaks like a hundred times and I am 100 % sure that the dialogue is taken from Twin Peaks. Geir Jenssen is not talking, it is the actor Don S. David (Major Garland Briggs) talking to Dana Ashbrook (his son Bobby) at the RR Diner.
Really! I've listened to this album a six or seven times and I thought it sounded like William Shatner as Captain Kirk. Thanks for putting my curiousity at rest!
"The lyrics in this song are quotes from Twin Peaks, Episode 9 (2002) 'Coma' during a conversation between Major Briggs (played by Don S. Davis) and his son Bobby in the diner over huckleberry pie. The lines in brackets were part of the dialogue on the show but were not heard on the Biosphere track." This doesn't explain anything, but Jenssen could be accused of copyright issues.
Listen to some of the old Orb albums, such as Oxbow Lakes or Ultraworld, or early Aphex Twin. Harold Budd is also excellent and can send you drifting :)
Some music helps you get to sleep. This, and the rest of Substrata, is INSIDE sleep.

Sorry to disappoint you, "predestined" means that it would be their fate - soartă - , it does not mean that they have actually agreed to do it.
It is more a wish on my part that they would team up cause each of these artists is an outstanding, if not blessed talent - in my humble opinion...
