ive ridden jap bikes for 10 yrs and only took an 883 out 1 time for 3 minutes till it ran out of gas , owners fault! but the other day i rode a beast with the screaming eagle kit and i must say that i never thought harleys were in that caliper of acceleration, I came over a hill at 65mph in 3rd gear and i swear the front tire was off the road by a sheet of paper during roll on , and the acceleration felt identicle to my kz 1000 (an 11 sec. bike).... it was fun and new !!!!!!!!!!
Yes they are jelious in nhra they complained the harleys were too fast so they added weight and did it help nope it may take a few buck to make my Harley fast but I have no problem beating and bike that rolls up to the stop lite to 120 and my fxdx is set up for the twisties so go watch thoes jap bikes crash and talk shit there

Great video! I have a 08 Street Glide and have been trying to master the wheelie. I love it when a video is posted like this and a bunch of idiots try to run it down. It is a HARLEY! give credit where credit is due. I am turning 100hp and 111 Tq at the wheel at 6200 feet elevation. I will be looking at Dragonfly for more upgrades due to this video.
its not a stock harley. it has compression releases, so aftermarket engine. And there are up to 160 cu inches with close to 200 hp available, so you could pretty much wheelie anything u want!

harleys have a dry sump oil system so it doesnt lose oil like a jap bike does due to their wet sump system. as for te trannies, thats alot of wieght to move but it should take it.

As much Torque as a 96ci HD engine puts out let alone all the mods that bike probably has it shouldnt be that difficult to get it up. But yeah keeping that big boy steady had to be a royal pain. I have a hard time keeping my R6 up.
my 02 ultra classic will pull the front end up about 2 feet off the ground and keep it there through 2nd gear its big and heavy and has a ass load of power. jap riders need to learn how to ride and then they could go do some cool shit on a real bike
@oct28th1985 i can care less about a 24.5 mile wheelie thats not hard if you have some decent roads and a sport bike all you need to do is fin d the balance point.. i was out screwing around on good friday road the wheelie on my bagger 3/4 of a mile and you can not get high enough for the balance point on my bike my exhaust hits first plus i put 600 miles on my bike friday when you do that on ur jap bike and wanna get back on and do it back home the next day you can talk about your rice cake

When you can make 250 hp out of your 1200+ cc 2 cylinder then we can talk. My bike runs close to a 10 flat in the 1/4, and that's just with a sprocket change($80 in parts). How much money would you have to dump into your harley to keep up with me? Harley's are way more comfortable for long highway cruises, I'm not denying that. But crotch rockets are better for everything else. There is a reason they call them crotch ROCKETS. If I wanted a nice highway cruise i'd buy a car

Um wut? My xlh 1200 was dynoed at 110 HP still gets 50mpg. it also weighs 470 lbs. The only things holding Harley engines back are the restrictive heads and the crappy exhausts ppl keep sticking on them.

My 900 lb Harley gets 47mpg on average. Harleys get AWESOME milage, because they have gobs of LOW END TORQUE, where you need it. You dont have to rev them to 13000 rpm to make them move. Put your jap engine in a harley and you wont even move it.

I went from having two cruisers (Harley Sportster and my second cruiser was a Honda Shadow) to owning a Yamaha R6. I will never go back to a cruiser, cool for putting around town, but just not as fun to ride. That's just my humble opinion. Plus the Sportster was broke down more than it ran. Big joke was people said it leaked oil and I would say no it doesn't, it's just marking its territory.

Seriously you can't even compare the power of a stock harley motor to a stock jap bike engine. 600cc jap motors make the same hp as 1200cc HD motors. 1300/1400cc jap motors make twice the HP and a lil more torque. Yes the motors are made for diff purposes, but I guarantee you any stock litre bike motor dropped into a harley frame would kill its stock HD counterpart. Its simple math, try comparing dyno sheets some time.
the worst part about HD are when you hear them drive by it sounds like they're goin 60 at like 7000 rpm but then you realize they going 20 at 7000 rpm

High quality usually does come with a higher price tag. Compare the value you get between a Harley and a Honda, set the 2 bikes side by side and REALLY look. Then, buy one of each brand new, and next year sell them both. In the long run, the harley will be cheaper. (if you are comparing two comparable models) You can argue with me all day on this, but im telling you, i've been there, and i have owned bikes from nearly every manufacturer (except BMW) but i dont care if you ride a metric.....

my 02 ultra classic will pull the front end up about 2 feet off the ground and keep it there through 2nd gear its big and heavy and has a ass load of power. jap riders need to learn how to ride and then they could go do some cool shit on a real bike

@oct28th1985 i can care less about a 24.5 mile wheelie thats not hard if you have some decent roads and a sport bike all you need to do is fin d the balance point.. i was out screwing around on good friday road the wheelie on my bagger 3/4 of a mile and you can not get high enough for the balance point on my bike my exhaust hits first plus i put 600 miles on my bike friday when you do that on ur jap bike and wanna get back on and do it back home the next day you can talk about your rice cake

My bike is faster around a track or through corners or down the dragstrip. i don't really see any point in conversing if you can't admit that race bikes make better race bikes. spring loaded valves that let the compression slip past so the engine can crank easier, when the engine starts and you rev it up the valves close. They have electric versions too, but these are much less expensive and work better.

When you can make 250 hp out of your 1200+ cc 2 cylinder then we can talk. My bike runs close to a 10 flat in the 1/4, and that's just with a sprocket change($80 in parts). How much money would you have to dump into your harley to keep up with me? Harley's are way more comfortable for long highway cruises, I'm not denying that. But crotch rockets are better for everything else. There is a reason they call them crotch ROCKETS. If I wanted a nice highway cruise i'd buy a car

Um wut? My xlh 1200 was dynoed at 110 HP still gets 50mpg. it also weighs 470 lbs. The only things holding Harley engines back are the restrictive heads and the crappy exhausts ppl keep sticking on them.

My 900 lb Harley gets 47mpg on average. Harleys get AWESOME milage, because they have gobs of LOW END TORQUE, where you need it. You dont have to rev them to 13000 rpm to make them move. Put your jap engine in a harley and you wont even move it.

the front forks are Japan, other than that i dont know. The leather supposively comes from pakistan. Who fuckin cares anyway? Theres a kawasaki plant in Nebraksa, some of the parts i know are made in Nebraksa, but those bikes sure as shit aren't american bikes!

I went from having two cruisers (Harley Sportster and my second cruiser was a Honda Shadow) to owning a Yamaha R6. I will never go back to a cruiser, cool for putting around town, but just not as fun to ride. That's just my humble opinion. Plus the Sportster was broke down more than it ran. Big joke was people said it leaked oil and I would say no it doesn't, it's just marking its territory.

Seriously you can't even compare the power of a stock harley motor to a stock jap bike engine. 600cc jap motors make the same hp as 1200cc HD motors. 1300/1400cc jap motors make twice the HP and a lil more torque. Yes the motors are made for diff purposes, but I guarantee you any stock litre bike motor dropped into a harley frame would kill its stock HD counterpart. Its simple math, try comparing dyno sheets some time.

High quality usually does come with a higher price tag. Compare the value you get between a Harley and a Honda, set the 2 bikes side by side and REALLY look. Then, buy one of each brand new, and next year sell them both. In the long run, the harley will be cheaper. (if you are comparing two comparable models) You can argue with me all day on this, but im telling you, i've been there, and i have owned bikes from nearly every manufacturer (except BMW) but i dont care if you ride a metric.....
