Because government should not be meddling in religious institutions or doctrine, but most people think that someone's values should follow them into office like they should follow people anywhere else. So what specifically scares you about him? That he wants to be others centered? Or that he wants to obey values he believes to be handed down by God? Because many of the founding fathers believed in God, not all in the same doctrinal sense, but they all let that inform their beliefs and policy.
He does not want the Southern Baptist Church involved with the state. Him bringing his personal values to the table is not problematic, it is actually impossible to separate who you are from what you do.
It would be like me asking for you to keep your belief in their being no God separate from decisions you make.
Huckabee being others centered mean that he think we owe God service to others.
one mistake is his quote addressed a conflict in 'world view' yet his argument only pertained to America. I'm sure that he didn't do this intentionally, but alot of people would find it fallacious to do so. I liked his argument for evolution though. If allowed, religion and science could get along fine.
If you believe the Bible: "The evening & the morning was the first day" and believe "days" "evenings" "mornings" pertain to the ones we now have (God wrote the Bible so you & I could understand what He wants us to know) then I have no problem excluding Evolution, because we don't need it.
i agree with him on the fact that there is a god as opposed to us as cosmic accident, however not his policy of making that universally taught in schools. that isn't the federal government's job.
if the big bang theory is correct (which most scientists agree) than everything began and is interconnected from a single point. By this logic everything that exists or has ever evolved is a result of that single point(God). So i would like to know how scientists dismiss creationism when their theory directly ties to it?
i didn't say they were, im saying that scientists contradict themselves when they claim evolution happened all by itself yet they also say there was a singularity that exploded & created the universe and everything in it. The singularity would then have to be the creator. No matter if it is intelligent or not, it is God (the creator).
I just want to point out how silly scientist are for dismissing creationism and favoring evolution when a theory they also support suggests creationism.
actually if u really think about it, it is essentially the same thing. everything would be interconnected through the singularity. It is the creator because that's where it all began, anything that is produced as a result of that is connected to it. so everything that exists is created by it and exists as one with it. i know i'm not the best at explaining thing, but if u put your bias aside u can probably grasp what i'm talking about.
First of all, astronomers doesn´t really think there was a singularity, it's just that the math we have isn´t good enough to describe what was going on at the time of the big bang and starts spitting out infinities when closing in on the time of the big bang, so scientists need more time to come up with better ways to describe it.
This is not proofe of a deity, and it does not disprove evolution.
If you put _your_ bias aside, you would probobly grasp what _I_ am talking about.
Has any one seen the Chris Tomlin's dvd special (see the morning). On it has Louie Gigulio, the executive producer, and the guest speaker. It is well worth your time. There is true evidence that God created all things, including us. Look up laminine. It's the protein that constructs out bodies, keeping it together. It's the glue that keeps us together.
u kno i which i was as smart as nasa where i can make shit up like the big bang theory(which is just an assumption) and teach this unproven shit in public schools
wow the very end of that interview is pretty powerful. it feels like he is personally talking me. not many people have talent like that, and can connect with people in that kind of way.
Science teaches the theory of biogenesis. One dictionary defines biogenesis as, "The principle that living organisms develop only from other living organisms and not from nonliving matter". By scientists teaching biogenesis AND evolution, they are being VERY hypocritical. How could life as complex as our human bodies be developed by a tiny particle of nonliving matter that happened to explode? It's nonsense.
His statement that if you believe in evolution you can't be for fighting global warming is illogical. As a species, we have evolved the capability to alter our environment, to create wars, and use our power unwisely. As there is no one else up there taking care of us, we need to respond to the problems we create. Just because one believes in evolution, it does not force you to accept anything that is man-made. This guy could be our president. Help!

LOL, not one of his best arguments but hey still has a point. Why not let it happen and see who survives? Why its silly is because of the "natural law" inside of you saying "Don't let other people and animals die just because of your mismanagement of the Earth."
What a great interview. I'm Catholic, and I can attest that Mike Huckabee's views and beliefs are 100% compatible with mine and with what the Church teaches. It doesn't matter the pulpit from which he preaches, what matters is that he's preaching the truth as it was taught by Christ Jesus. Mike Huckabee is the best candidate to be President of the United States.

This man seems nice, but his views frighten me.
I have a question, if 90% of America believes in god (false), then why is there such a large opposition to government endorsement of religion?
Government is world centered because that is the realm it deals with. You keep your god to yourself and we will be fine.

Huckabee has a very serious problem regarding his views on the separation of HIS church and OUR state.
What do you mean by 'others' centered?

The theory of evolution and the big Bang theory are not the same theory.
If you by creation mean that the earth is 6000 years old, and everything in the bible is true, then yes, science dismisses creation.
Science is silent on the existens of god or gods.

The theory supports a creation of the universe, it does not support _creationism_. Not the same thing.

Look up 'abiogenesis'. I think you are confusing biogenisis with abiogenesis.
Biology becomes a lot more sensical. Just keep on learning, big guy.
