  • 2:51 slight mess up.

  • @jtrouse6991 oh fuckin yay. one mess up in 3:45 of perfect playing. You do it, faggot.

  • @1000Campbell and it wasn't even a mess up. It's called the human being's need to breath.

  • NEW STORY: Jazz legend Wynton Marsalis recalls some advice learned about dealing with terrible shows. Read more at The Worst Gig (WorstGig.com).

  • Wynton Marsalis is so good! Gift from god for all of us!

  • @theveney1 ur not giving him enough credit thats from his sweat and hard work

  • why hasn"t VENICE hired him already? oh yeah, all their money got stolen by Jason Statham (The Italian Job)

  • 2:40 to the end. MIND BLOWN

  • "This was performed as an encore. Prior to this, he played the Haydn Trumpet Concerto in Eb. After the Carnival of Venice he then played two jazz pieces with Sarah Vaughn."

    ...TEACH ME

  • All 59 dislikes are TRUE HATERS!

  • fuck tripple tonguing.....*melts trumpet*

  • I want to tripple tounge like that!!!

  • JOHN WILLIAMS AND WYNTON MARSALIS IM SURPRISED THE UNIVERSE DIDN'T IMPLODE.

  • Happy Birthday,Wynton. Keep on, man!

  • Paul Orndorff on the French Horn at 1:51 !!!

Also, please remember this was AFTER he played all 3 movements of Haydn's Trumpet Concerto too :)

  • Wyntons 50 now

  • Wow

  • 2:46 from there took me a month to perfect but i love this song

  • he's not allen vizzuti, but wow. and he can play jazz too. legit trumpet player

  • He went to a d instead of a c?

  • 3:23 - anyone catch that ;)?

  • @Rinjingin7 catch what???

  • How - LITERALLY - in the holy bejeezus, can you 'dislike' this? 58 people are that much closer to extinction. That's all we can root for... aside from this GODLY performance.

  • i wanna know who dislikes this??

  • absolutely astonishing o.o

  • a VERY young Wynton!

  • dudes a BEAST

  • damn!

  • to all you folks that say you'll wish you'll could play like that or...after a certain time during this video u just said f that ..not gonna happen....All it takes is practice were there's a will there's a way

  • Simply amazing. And the last note just ends it so well.

  • INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! especialy at 2:40

  • Comment removed

  • AMAZING!

  • I...no words...I'll just be in the corner crying and wishing I could play that like that.

  • This is so sick.

  • How many trumpet players, hell, how many musicians, can you think of who are world class at both jazz and classical music? I have the utmost respect for this man and his music

  • He makes it look so easy O_O

  • flugel solo at beginning?

  • @ItsThatToolGuy Cornet

  • I SEE JOHN WILLIAMS!!!

  • @mastermusic99 Where?

  • @mastermusic99 but is a guitarist

  • He is probably the coolest, laid-back professional musician I've ever had the pleasure to meet.

  • 1337

  • The man is a genius. Whether it be classical, jazz or brass/wind band music, trumpet or cornet, he simply has no peers!

  • Comment removed

  • Actually, it is a cornet, not a trumpet.

  • He is soooooooooo good. I am only 11 but i not that good yet! trumpets rock trombones suck!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @johnson22200 and thats why 11 year olds shouldn't post comments. they say shit about stuff they don't know about. I suggest you don't talk shit until you can play both instruments perfectly. (Which isn't possible.)

  • @nicola91212 Or maybe you shouldn't post, you are no better than an 11 year old if all you are gonna do is cuss at them. Grow up,

  • @schilke237 Is that really all I did? Sounds like you are just a pissed off trumpet player. I enjoy listening to trumpet solos but it makes me mad to see somebody that really does not have a music background, diss another instument. Especially the trombone. I happen to play trumpet and trombone along with 3 other brass instruments. There is no reason to diss another brass instrument especially when you're 11 and don't know any music history or have accomplished anything in music.

  • Thunbs up for getting the poster's name joke!

  • caraca ziiquinha

  • ... i'm going to meet him and he's teaching me how to circular breath...

  • I can play the first to variation on trombone but at a point it doesnt become mechanically possible.

  • HOT DAMN!!!

  • I tried this on sax...NOT EVEN!

  • Does anyone know if this is the Clarke or Arbans version?

  • @kibodeaux13 neither, its like a mix

  • @kibodeaux13 Arban's

  • I played this once... then I woke up.

  • Steve Urkle FTW

  • 56 people cannot triple tongue

  • @Jetfighter1011 i sure as fuck cant

  • @AcousticDude17 I'm a tuba player so yeah i sure as hell can't

  • @Jetfighter1011

double tonguing a tuba is hard enough

  • Chris Reeves playing french horn at 1:45 lol

  • Holy Crap!!

  • what tone and control!

Its good to have a musician like this living in our time!

  • toygret Kan den spilles bedre og mere elegant.Wynton Marselis er utrolig alsidig i

sit tropetspil,både klasisk og i Jazz.

  • its the stache

  • at first i was like, wtf thats not hard, then i was like WTF

  • en esta obra los dedos me empiezan a salir humo jajajajajjaa demasiado bien

  • Oh. My. God.

  • probably one of the greatest players of all time

  • WTF at 3:23 ????

  • 55 people had to change their pants after watching this

  • This is real music. :)

  • holy shit!!!

  • such a talented Negress...

  • wow, why weren't people standing before he finished, i would have shot up at the double F.

  • hes a beast

  • poor,poor,dislikers....

  • I have no idea how the hell he sounds like two trumpets towards the end of this. It still mystifies me.

  • I started listening to Wynton at the age 8 which would of been 1987 and he was playing classical then, i think! I dont know how anyone can give this or him to that matter a thumbs down, he is one of the best, if not THE best trumpet player in the world! Tell me someone else who can triple tongue and jump 2 octaves whilst doing it, ive played the trumpet for 20 years and i still cant do half of what he can! I love you all for loving this guy and the people who dont are just jealous!!

  • Comment removed

  • No denying he can play whatever, whenever, great consistently! mmmmhuh

  • the god itself liked this video!

  • The People who dislike this were either crossed eyed...... or just had a freakin heart attack and there face planted on the mouse cause they were so astouded!

  • i did want to learn this but at 1:00 i said fuck it

  • @Downsy52 Great skills, stick to classical, thats your forte, because at jazz you suck,Dewey Lil miles Jones

  • @Downsy52 Ah don't be a wuss, learn the song build up your technique and talent :)

  • He makes it look so easy!!

  • My f**king god

  • @beatinyoass24

    My sentiments exactly.

  • holy shit

  • show off, jk that is pretty baller

  • nice 4th octave f at the end

  • @ 2:50 HE F-ED UP!

  • our hero!!

  • Perfect.

  • The last high note just gives me goosebumbs

  • 51 people are deaf!

  • how can u possibly dislike this i just need an explanation to understand ur though prosses

  • 51 people were expecting Will Smith

  • @JRCSFUL HE KINDA REMINDS ME OF THAT GUY FROM THE BILL COSBY SHOW YOU KNOW THE BIG BROTHER THAT ALSO SHOWED UP IN FAMILY MATTERS EVERY NOW AND THEN.

  • Outstanding player, but no cigar. Check out Rafael Mendes. No contest.

  • If I wear glasses like that will I be able to play Carnival of Venice too?

  • Wynton Marsalis is hands down the best trumpet player of all time. Jazz or classical.

  • Cadê o rstante alguém pode postar novamente. Marsalis na minha opinião é o que melhor executa!!! Gostaria de ver o vído completo!

  • Him and Maurice Andre have to be the best classical players out there. He still might not be the top in jazz though

  • 51 people were attempting to triple tongue and they accidently pressed thumbs down

  • The trumpet is the best brass instrument out there. Good luck arguing against that, especially when a master like Marsalis has it in in his hands.

  • @mtb416 i deisagree with that comment...i feel that all instruments can stand on their own in the right hands...to to get the full effect of music i think a small ensemble does it best

  • hats off to anyone that can play this.

  • This was filmed three minutes directly after he performed Autumn Leaves with Sarah Vaughn

  • my godfather knew him and he said he practiced 12 hours a day for 12 years.....i guess this is the result

  • Is this regarded to be the most difficult trumpet piece to perform ??

  • @ScaryMunchkin one of the most difficult pieces there aren't any pedal tones within this piece and I have heard pieces that explore that range on trumpet much in the same style of this i would consider those a bit harder but ya you basically need to be a god in order to do this

  • @ScaryMunchkin not exactly the most difficult, but it has lots of diverse variations, and every trumpeter dreams of being able to play a brilliant version of this once or twice.... it's like being in the 40-40 club in baseball

  • @mrdude2010 thanks for the response:)

  • He is the best

  • he makes it look so easy

  • why does this only have 1,070,295 views come on internet..................

  • Oh I like Wynton's playing. He is One of The Best Living Players. I just did a side by side comparison. Music is for everyone. Styles vary. Maurice is Classical Par Excellance; whereas, Marsalis adlibs and is Par Excellance his way. So it is whether or not you desire the adlib, versus, the Classical. TheThirdRegiment has every right to like Wynton his way. Best to you!

  • Maurice Andre's performance is Far Superior! Wynton is good but overplays! Maurice plays with evry nuance of excellence!

  • @headshrink1 Good thing your watching a Wynton video then huh ..

  • Soon, I will be able to play this whole piece. Soon.

  • Not fair is it?!?

  • circular breathing?

  • that one guy looks like he's eating his french horn mouthpiece.

  • Every time I see this recording.... He makes it sound so easy. He is god for me.

  • He looks a lot like Will Smith.

  • Oh my god, Winston Marsalis and John Williams in the same room.

  • wow. thats amazing, he's having a duet with himself at that speed.

  • Probably the best trumpet player that ever lived. Enjoy it folks.

  • @TubaDanMan Probably not (and Wynton himself wouldn't make that assertion either--in his youth he's shared the bandstand with the likes of cats like Freddie Hubbard and Woody Shaw) but it is a killin performance.

  • Good ol' mellow cornet :)

  • ewwww..... #sick

  • looks that 51 people are deaf! or simply lack something

  • hes soooooooo awesome :)) trilpe toungue wow :))
