Umm...dude playing Jim Jones is pretty good, but would be better with a little weight on him. Still, pretty good. However, Powers Boothe WAS Jim Jones.
@predonin .... you know unlike jonestown you can revoke your citizenship and go somewhere that is more amendable to your mindset.....you need not stay to save the masses.
@brooks718 Where the hell are you gonna go these days? I agree, we don't need to wake the masses (They are so stupid it hurts my brain to watch them) but we really need to wake up the 10-15% that are capable of making the change at the individual level. If we want to stop the masses and their manipulators from bringing us into oblivion, that is. Brothers everywhere...
@predonin get off of obamas nuts im so sick of people like you who say stuptd shit like hes the anti christ. if you don't agree with his decisions fine, but obama isnt telling you to turn from god or asking you to look at him as a god, hes not hitler or jim jones
What the Hell! look at all this shit he's putting into this concoction of death! hell No! "you drink it" "im good..." Doctor told me to take it easy on the liquid in- take. Im feeling kinda of bloated. "thanks but no thanks"!
@sandraand6690 I understand, but see it from their mind's eye. They couldn't refuse, and the ones that did were forced to take it(hence the mass-murder moniker)at gunpoint or shot. Some were brave enough to run in the jungle, some people hid as best as they could. Not to be a critical douche-bag...but remember, these people were like sheep, blindly(and some not so blindly)walking to the slaughter.
This is a perfect example of why blind faith in anything or anyone is so dangerous, you see what you want to see. When you're so deep in it you can't see the madness that is so obvious to everyone on the outside looking in.
A WANTABEE IS ELVIS IS CORRECT. IT IS AMAZING HOW VUNERABLE SOME PEOPLE ARE -- HOW EASILY TAKEN IN BY FALSE PROPHETS. WE SEE SO MUCH OF IT IN TODAY'S SOCIETY. (WEAK-MINDED PEOPLE) -- GOD HELP US.
I really can't understand that someone can be that brainwashed. I mean , so many people .. only a handfull that said, FY i'm not drinking that ! no one says FY you are not injecting this into my child's vains ! I just don't understand
@shirahbe1 They had people with guns surrounding them. Not to mention most of them thought it was just a harmless Loyalty Test. It was "They Boy who cried wolf" at it's finest.
I mean...Jim Jones really had some great ideas when it all started. he wanted to show that everyone was equal and he fought against the seperation of black and white. He just wanted everyone to live together in piece...but I guess he just lost it somewhere...people tend to do this when they become too famous and get worshiped too much...so instead of living together he just made them die together...
socialism will never work if there is a despot that all the people follow: they are left struggling from the reprocustions if this man is a psychopath, this case is evident for that.
there many many guilties here, congrassman ryan one of them,he commit siucide going there like that, the poloticians that helped jones to grow up,the reporters that shouldn't show the note to jones,
The actor portraying JJ reminds me of GOB from Arrested Development.
I don't know if I would leave my child behind. But if I joined a cult I wouldn't have been in my right mind anyway. The people demeaning Gosney on here are very comfortable with their situation. I bet you guys 'would have' done a lot of things knowing what you know now.
She didn't actually hide under the bed. She was hard of hearing and healing from a recent illness. The exhaustion from being sick and her bad ears led her to sleep through the entire massacre, in her own bed.
I'm so sick of the victim blaming toward Vernon Godney. He is undoubtedly haunted by leaving his son behind. In retrospect, of course he should have brought him, but nobody here can know what it was like to live in such isolation and fear. It's called brainwashing - learn about it before you judge.
I don't think even Vernon knew what would happen to his son. Perhaps he thought that he could come back and get him later. No one envisions this sort of thing happening until it actually does.
lmao, but seriously, I would have left the kid behind as well.
If I could, I would have killed the kid because he's already brainwashed, at a young age. It will never leave the kid, and he will probably always be fucking stupid. There's no point in him living.
That's just me though. I wouldn't refrain from disabling the body of another person just because "it's wrong".
It would be a mercy killing, which is unlike me, because I'm usually logical.
@estoid He left him because he was black, but he was scared, and I know he feels so guilty for that. That was a life and death situation, no one can judge him or anyone there.
@estoid As a mother, I just cannot understand how in the WORLD he could have thought it was Okay to leave his son behind..he knew he wanted out of there but why was it okay to leave his kid there to die? I just cannot understand it, that's all.
@livepower34325 But you are not getting what I am saying..He wanted out because it was SO bad there..and was miserable..he knew Jim was crazy..hell he says it in the movie..but if it was so bad for him and others what made him think it was good for his son? I cannot understand it at all..I mean I know he wasn't psychic and didn't think Jim would do what he did..but I dunno..it's just hard to get is all.
@estoid truly agreed. brainwashing is powerful more than people can imagine. For an example, N.Korea is still maintained by propaganda and brainwashing programme.
@estoid would you leave your son if you were him????? Why didn't he take his son with him , they let him go so he should have taken his son with him!!!!! The Jones was a n EVIL AND VERY SICK CREATURE!
