well as I've seen they now play it live shredding the B note ( actually it's an A because they play it in one step down tuning ). Check out dyers eve live 2009
@alexdadark just keep at it and eventually you wont feel so tired. i had the same problem with the raining blood spider riff, and after a good week of practice i can do it with my feet lol
Are you using hammer-on and pull-offs for the 16th notes on the 2nd and 3rd frets, or do you pick every note? I can't play this song, but I was Just wondering if hammer-ons and pull-offs are the correct way to play it, because I can't get the speed anywhere close to what its meant to be when I try and pick every note.
HELP!!! looking to buy a new guitar what is a good guitar for this kind of music METALLICA, SLAYER, GOJIRA, etc. used or new under $300 PLEASE!!! I WANT TO SHRED HARDER LIKE YOU
@anonymousguitarguy if you are really just starting out and want to buy a new guitar try an ibanez grg or a jackson js series guitar. have a jackson myself and played many ibanez's and the necks are some of the best you can get for th money for the type of genre you want to play!
@m169marroquin please answer this, can you make one with tabs or tell me a great tab site because i can't find one and this is my favorite tallica song
i know this might be an odd question but can anyone suggest a good brand of guitar strings that would be able to withstand 3 hous of play everyday. the strings i have had iin the past are usually bad within 3 week really appreciate an answer
Clear tone or Elixir. I have a Jackson so I use 9's but in general they're both pretty good, the cleartones have a coating over them that keeps them from slowly fraying as most strings will and elixirs are really good but they will EVENTUALLY fray... either way you can't go wrong, but I'm rocking some D'addario or however you spell it... :)
@D12123157 yeah but the coated strings feel like you just ate fried chicken and your fingers are greasy so be aware of that i currently use DR TITE FITS and they last awhile and i beat on them
I have a question, does your metal zone make a horrible horrible fuzz when you're not using it, like not playin' anything but theres an enormous horrible fuzz. Don't know how to get rid of it, hope you understand
its just the hum that comes with a lot of gain, either waste 100 and some dollars on a pedal that cuts the hum or get over it. i just look over it. dont turn up the level on the metal zone for it sounds like total shit with the level all the way up. keep it at about 12 o clock or lower and adjust the volume on your amp
Oh look at this cool guy, see he made a funny??? HAHAHA What is the fucking problem you stupid skinny fuck.Of course you look over it your to fucking poor to get the pedal.
You probably just learned MoP and shit yourself everytime your mom complements you so you get on you tube and leave your small dick comments were they're undesired.
Thank You very Much for the great tips.I always fool around with Metallica songs but you greatly help out and make it more fun..So many people I know who play are so selfish with their knowledge, its great to see someone who is not...You Rule...Gooch
I have the same Cherry Lane books and the AJFA one does have the fasty part as 232323. It does that the entire song. And, the dude said it was one of his favorite songs... I think he would know his favorite song!
If you all want a killer Metallica / Pantera sound get a digitech "death metal" pedal and run it through a 50 watt or more Marshall that has the fdd feature. Scoop out the midrange somewhat on both the Amp and pedal and fiddle with it from there. Its what i use and after a few years of trial and error its the best rig so far. Hope that helps.
I have the official Metallica...And Justice For All authorized tab book from Cherry Lane Music. Transcribed by Larry Meyer, Jesse Gress, and Jon Chappell.
Which I believe Jesse Gress did "Disposable Heroes" and "Battery" on the Master of Puppets addition.
"I think the fast part is 22222 not 23232" is correct. I slowed down the part with the right pitch (in audacity) and it checks out. Also James plays it that way so... :)
I have to agree with you: the album version slowed down does sound like 23232 to me. With that said, he may not necessarily play that live: it's a tiring riff.
Hehe don't get me started on those things. They're not transcribed by the artists, let's just leave it at that. And again: James plays only on the B-note so I'm sticking with that. Cheers mate!
@m169marroquin Sorry, I have to agree with the OP. The fast sixteenth notes are all Bs on the 2nd fret of the A string, and the tab is wrong. Just listen closely, there are no 3rd fret Cs in that part.
@e11eventhhour I can, and I do... I don't have the means of recording or making a video, and even if I had I wouldn't do it cause I don't really have to prove anything... the song speaks for itself. I must admit though, it is kinda confusing (Sorry about the deaf thing, it did come off kinda harsh) and so, for argument's sake, I even used Audacity to slow it down to be sure and guess what - the 3's are there!.
@m169marroquin this song is right in the book i think. but i know that blackened is wrong. they fcked up the master of puppets solo too :/ so they sometimes make mistakes.
I love how in most of this guy's how-to videos, there's a part where he says "You gotta go like this: du-da-du-da-du-da. But when you get fast, you can go like this: dudadudadudadudaduda."

This is pretty much dead on except for the first 2 seconds of the song (but WTF) and that little interlude before the chorus. very minor, hardly noticeable. Great Playing.
Seriously, there's a few mistakes here, minor but yet important. Intro has the notes G and F#, the tail end in B has the notes F# and G, not the other way around. Right?
Spider 2 or 3? 75 watt or the bigger one? A GIO?? Wow not bad tone from a lower end Ibanez... cool. I have a yamaha rgx520z and an Ibanez RG321 with a JB in the bridge.
that amp sounds good. i wonder if the Spiders 2 or 3s sounds any better? i know they have 6 more amp models but that does not mean better if you know what i mean.
lol.

Seriously, there's a few mistakes here, minor but yet important. Intro has the notes G and F#, the tail end in B has the notes F# and G, not the other way around. Right?

Spider 2 or 3? 75 watt or the bigger one? A GIO?? Wow not bad tone from a lower end Ibanez... cool. I have a yamaha rgx520z and an Ibanez RG321 with a JB in the bridge.

spider 1 212 100W. And my guitar, I painted over the model number but I think it's the same as a GRX40.

that amp sounds good. i wonder if the Spiders 2 or 3s sounds any better? i know they have 6 more amp models but that does not mean better if you know what i mean.
