Not because the mom will get stressed; The mom only feeds them once or twice per day and removing the nestbox for a few hours won't hurt anything, but because they are still pretty young and are more likely to get hurt. Once they are 3-4 weeks old they are much stronger.
My lionhead is gonna have babies tonight i believe more than 5 because her tummy is full of them:)

we have 11 day old lionheads, cant wait till they can play out like this!
how long at a time do you keep them away from their mother like this? i would like to let them explore but wouldnt want to stress her out.
