  • i'm planining to get a 1982 Yamaha Maxim 750 Or Seca 750! i like this bike i like the restoration

  • I have this model as well and I've been denied collector plates for it because it is missing the cover located right under the front of the seat on the right side. I'm having no luck locating one. Any sugestions or ideas? Thanx

  • ks that a seat cover?

  • I just bought an 1981 Yamaha Maxim 1981 with only 17,800 km (about 11 000 miles) and runs like a new one. Yours is nicer than mine. I don't have the original seat on looking for original in good condition. I check my pictures and I can see that it's not the same engine as yours? Maybe cause mine is Canadian version, Really nice bike! How much km or miles? The tank is si shinny, I can see you with your camera! Nice job man!

  • I just bought a Maxim 650 for 100 bucks. Needs carb work then its in "running" condition, but im going to restore it. Definatly getting black exhaust B|

  • Looks great. What did you use to get the engine so clean?

  • I used some water and a green scotchbrite pad first and then just a lot of mothers aluminum polish.

  • Beautiful job on the restoration. I just bought an 82 Yamaha 650 Maxim. Where do you get parts like the black exhaust system (looks awesome), Nice new looking side covers, etc? Havin a hard time finding those parts on eBay! Thanks and Very Nice Bike!

  • It is a MAC exhaust and I think you can still buy them new, but mine came on the bike. If you go on xjbikes . com there is a guy that sells EVERY part for these bikes. Thanks!

  • I wonder why when these bikes were new they didnt run the gold tank trim all the way around the gas tank? Pictures of new ones show the trim stops at the gas shut off valve. Looks much better the way you did it.

  • @600microb1 These Yamaha's haven't lost a thing over the last 28 years. Beautiful job on the restore. Very much like mine, except for the pipes. Mine are Jardines. I think a sweeter motor was never built.

  • im currently restoring a 650 maxim, i fucking love every second

  • nice bike

  • I live in Canada (not sure where it was bought though) .. and I dont think it says YICS anywhere .. so theres no 1984? .. idk anything .. hah

  • go on xjbikes and post your vin number, they can tell you pretty much anything about the bike

  • @600microb1 Agreed! XJBikes.com has pretty much everything XJ Maxim and Seca related answered!

  • very nice .. I got a 81 Maxim 650 .. the person who sold it to me said it was 84 .. but the ownership says 81 .. is there a way to tell the difference? .. let me know, thanks!

  • Yes. I think they were only sold in the U.S until 83 and if it is a 81 the engine will not say YICS in the engine sidecovers and valve cover

  • Maxim 650 the best motorcycle...big motor...

    Maxim is the speed king.

    Bad song.. change please
