Arriving in Manila Airport

I heard all these horror stories about this airport. admittedly it is overdue for a face lift but you have to compare it with the life outside of the airport. The staff are friendly. the only time it becomes a nightmare is when 3 or more planes arrive at the same time. whatI will say is their is a scam going on with the free shuttle service from term 1 to 2 -3. He will drive straight past you at term 3 and let you pay the 20 peso contracted service.

I wonder if they bothered to fix the air condition yet? The old terminal is very run-down nowadays, and has been so for several years.

The departure area is nice but needs to be refurbished!!

next time i go,I will video my landing and everything inside NAIA..am not pinoy but I love it in Phils.my wife is from batangas and we go every year 4 about 5 weeks and we have properties there so my life is mixed around my old life and my Wife but I love it!!..no issues in my life.thanx for posting po!

what a lousy good for nothing airport. no wonder many international air carriers prefer not to fly there. this is the least desired, least popular country for tourists to visit. hong kong, tokyo, singapore, jakarta, bangkok, shanghai, taipei are all better. filipinos should most definitely feel ashamed and embarrassed.

ako galing europe for xmas vacation ,nung sa immigration na kami tinanong ako nga babae sabi niya kasal ba kayo sabi ko siyempre wow nagalit ako pa ang suplada sinagot ko lang tanong ya so 21 days lang naka tatak sa passport nga mga anak ko at asawa pag balik namin muntik na ako mag bayad ng multa ang overstayed buti na lang ma bait yung mama sa counter at nakinig naman sa explinasyon ko... kasi ang mga tao diyan kung i trato ka ba naman yong manners nila parang wln.pinag aralan..

personal items in balikbayan box are not taxed. normaly during holiday season they seemed to ask for pamasko. but you can always ignore em. but most of the time they dont ask for anything. Ganun talaga

Here is one sure way to get rid of those buwaya's at custom? When they say to you " HIndi ko na bubuksan mga box ninyo at nakita mong binuksan niya drawer niya.." Sabihin mo lang, " Thank you, bibigyan sana kita, kaya lang nanghihinayang ako sa trabaho mo baka matangal ka sa trabaho ? " (english mas ok)

Haha yea.. Every 1 hated that long line @ the immigration, nkka excite kse ung tipong gusto mo nang lumabas to see ur love ones pero antgl p ng pila haha.. Pero mwwla din nmn yung inis mo when u see ur love ones naman picking u up @ the airport.. It brings u happiness!! And yea it's good to be back!

Most rush hours are on weekends (if ur arriving)

But rush hours occur in most days.

If u have a flight flying with a B747 on departure (if ur leaving) you'll expect long lines in check in and ur flight will be delayed.

Hope u have a safe trip and enjoyable one.

Don't give money to some ppl and be careful staying in the NCR and the capital :)

Hey there.

I just got back to Europe, after my three month stay in the Philippines. The immigration upon my arrival was minimal, Not like I have expected.

On my return to Europe, MNL to AMS, on March 7 2009, my departure with KLM was busy, huge lines formed at the immigration, paying the airport fee, going trough Xray again, so time consuming, and I had to run to my gate, approx 5 mins after I got there, they closed it. I must say. I'm loking forward to the CRK to open, Demolish NAIA already.!

I don't know what the hell the comment below meant... this line is in no way LONG considering NAIA standards.

Try arriving between 1pm to 2pm then you'll really know the meaning of a long wait in line.

Last January 22nd, I stood in line with my girlfriend for a grueling 50 minutes at the immigration area. Almost an hour wait just for a 60 second check and stamp.
