  • What theme song is that? And what anime is that character from?

  • I hope my comments are not censored and removed from this video.

It is vital that Japanese people are informed and know the truth.

Most of the 600,000+ spent fuel (highly radioactive) rods stored at Fukushima went into the atmosphere when the explosions and fires occurred on March 12, 2011. The fuel rods were 12 feet in length and 1/2 an inch in width.

Rainwater absorbs radiation in the atmosphere.

When it rains it soaks (contaminates) the land, water and people with radiation.

  • @hplaserjet2001 do you know how to do a summary?

  • @TanWeiHou

Did you understand what I wrote?

  • Russia and China have rejected shipments from Japan because of radiation contamination.

See the following videos for maps of radiation emanating from Fukushima in the Pacific Ocean.

This video exposes radiation contamination of food in Japan, Canada and the USA.

    watch?v=DV7Tm7Tjh9I&

World renown nuclear expert Dr Helen Caldicott speaks about the Fukushima nuclear meltdown and the permanent contamination of the planet.

  • Uranium Alpha 238 is a radioactive element with a half-life of 4.5 billion years.

Uranium Alpha 234 is a radioactive element with a half-life of 245,000 years.

    Plutonium was found at Fukushima.

See the Canadian Coalition for Nuclear Responsibility for more information.

  • All of Japan has been contaminated. The Japanese government recently admitted it considered evacuating Tokyo, but did not because of the chaos that would have happened.

Large sections of the ocean are dead because of radiation from Fukushima.

See my playlist "Dr Helen Caldicott & Lauren Moret: Nuclear Accidents" to learn more about the tragedy of Fukushima.

  • Search for Fukushima Nuclear accident on YouTube to see 100s of videos made by scientists and journalists exposing the truth about Fukushima. Fukushima is the worst nuclear accident in the history of the planet.

600,000+ spent fuel rods were stored at Fukushima, most of those were destroyed during the initial explosions. The Japanese government has been burning tsunami debris in southern Japan, releasing radiation into the atmosphere.

Radiation contamination from Fukushima is worldwide.

  • All of the northern hemisphere has been soaked in radiation since March 2011. The radiation will spread to the southern hemisphere as well.

Fukushima is far worse than Chernobyl.

Naysayers need to google Chernobyl babies to see photos of severe birth defects. The sarcophagus surrounding Chernobyl is in danger of collapse and continues to emit radiation. All of Europe will be severely contaminated when it does.

  • It is wonderful to see how well the Japanese have pulled together and are working through this tragedy. I have been to Japan three times and fear for the safety of my Japanese friends because of Fukushima.

I was disappointed to see nothing on this video about the meltdown at Fukushima.

Fukushima has been in full meltdown since March 11, 2011.

Radiation contamination from Fukushima is worldwide.

  • where to watch episode 2 online?

  • @xcharlf I don't think you can unless DC puts episodes online himself. But there is one way you can watch season 2 live from Japan if you would like that?

  • @sauverivera I watched the whole season 1 in crunchyroll.. the show is addictive :).. hope they upload season 2 soon~

  • @xcharlf Damn I forgot about crunchyroll XD. But in the meantime you can watch Culture Japan season 2 online at KeyholeTV

  • Hiding the true history is obviously bad, but I think it's laughable that Americans think they can say anything to that after all the self righteous massacring that is in your history, even without wars. And well when on the subject of Japan the most laughable one being Pearl Harbor which the Americans still hold grudge against and even said that Japan deserved this disaster because of it... I mean after that America made alot more damage... *cough Nagasaki & Hiroshima cough*

  • obrigado por me mostrar a cultura desse país MARAVILHOSO .

  • I like the old opening song a little better, even though I'm excited for the Mirai Millenium anime

  • THANK YOU Culture Japan! I haven't even watched the video yet and I've already learned arguing about stupid shit on youtube is ALSO apart of Japanese culture! :D

Perhaps we westerners have more in common with these exotic cultures then previously presumed... Gah! I hope there's one culture out there that won't partake in youtube flame wars, but that's probably just wishful thinking on my part. XD

  • Guys, i think the main problem is that Japan still hasn't admit to ww2 atrocities. There's no way of saying that it never happened. Every single nation has committed crimes against humanity to get to where they are now, but they could never be forgiven if the crime itself is forgotten. The US use to exterminate native americans, now the US is repenting slowly through laws and grants given to native americans.

  • @ChibiMuncher Wow, I was just thinking of the US Native Americans as an analogy to all this. If a country won't learn from its mistakes, that's sad. I don't care if Japan officially apologizes about what they did. If they at least will acknowledge what happened, that would ease so much tensions. wawomotetotoshi has bought into all of the lies. Being a patriot does not mean you must never believe your country did anything bad. If you can accept the bad and love the good, that is healthy.

  • o dislikes yay! :D

  • Thank you Danny this episode of Culture Japan.

I knew it would take years for the cleanup to happen but this episode really puts it in perspective on how much has been done and how much longer it's still going to take.

I've donated a long time ago but really wish I could be there in person to help those in need. Best of wishes to Japan!

  • For those who can't read Japanese, there are some right-winger Japanese commenting on this video who take issue with Danny's promotion of Peace Boat, an organization formed in retaliation to Japan's whitewashing of its war history in school books (look it up). There's a strong group of delusional people in Japan (Uyoku) who want to believe that their country didn't commit gruesome war atrocities, and they desperately want to believe that Japan was acting on the best interests of Korea and China.

  • Is Danny an Ausie?

  • @Grandtemplar1191 He's originally from the U.K. Of Malaysian Chinese ancestry.

  • nice video, i agree with fossil98,

    too much "hmmm" lol,

we looking forward the next video culture japan XD

  • dat quality

  • Second season already? Wow this programm is so cool!!!

  • I like it!

  • I <3 Culture Japan~

  • danny what lens are you using on your camera?

  • saludos desde mexico

  • @wawomotetotoshi HA!

  • @swerder123 The Japanese government has been brainwashing its generations into believing that they were not the aggressors in World War II. They whitewash history books so that Japanese do not know how Japan's military butchered countless people in Korea and China, such as with Unit 731, and how it captured sex slaves. Peace Boat was created in reaction to that. You don't need to hate Japan. Just realize and understand the wrongs committed and stop pretending that Japan did nothing wrong.

  • Thanks for uploading this Danny-san

  • I used the word ominious, eerie would be a better word :/

  • Wow...Those Cicadas and that dense fog makes it quite ominous at around the 15-17 minute mark. Nice to see everything being brought back to the way it should be :)

Appropriate to think what a wonderful first round of Season 2. In the first earthquake I experienced East this coming to Japan, and a lot of grief I felt a bond of human minds and warm support from people

around the world.^ ^ I love Japan. We are One.

  • Oh at least Japan works as one, in the U.S a guy can be bleeding to death and everyone pretends not to see anything =.= <3 japan

  • @pandahao1 not even close... everyone will try to help but no one will actually help unless it's part of their responsibility.

  • I am so happy to have been able to receive this video thank you to my brothers and sisters in Japan GOD Bless you

  • was watching an anime called Mayo Chiki, and can't help but notice Mirai's cameo appearance

  • Some of the snapshots look like a a scene of post-apocalyptic tokyo.

  • Very nicely done Danny but for the overdubs you jeed to add some sound baffles to your office - too much reflected sound.

  • yeah season 2!! (>*_*)>

  • Don't worry all the people that were affected by the disaster in Japan, Miku from Cheerful Japan and all the other figures that are in that group are here to cheer you up! Im sorry to say that I can't be there but I have done donations and bought the Hatsune Miku Support Nendoriod Figure. We all care for you Japan!

  • You've really done a great job with this, Danny. Your coverage focused not only on the devastation but also the relief efforts and the things people are doing to aid the recovery process. It's great to see that people are trying their hardest to stay upbeat.

  • That tshirt is very cute.

  • I would love a job, but school first.

  • 28:36 wait, where's ra, ri, ru, re, ro? I hope you didn't forget about them . . .

  • 18:56 OMG! * cries * My dearest friend lived there!!! D':

  • The learing words at the end are soo cute!

  • i envy with those kids, get vanguard card game for free ^_^

  • Danny, I think you may have mistranslated one of Takanori Aki's lines at 25:51. When he said 800,000 yen (八十万 hachijuu-man) was raised, in English it was interpreted as "80 million yen (八千万 hassen-man) raised". You might have to edit that for any future re-release of this episode to avoid potential misunderstandings.

  • @KinnyRiddle he said "7480万円", so translation(80 million yen) is roughly correct.

  • Danny certainly goes

    "hmmmmm'

    A lot lol.

  • @fossil98

and 'alrighty, what have we heeerrreeee' xDD

  • Love the intro song, is it going to be released sometime?

  • This episode makes me happy (volunteers and the smiles of the people) and sad at the same time :'(

  • Thank you, Danny. Can we please have the rest of season 1 on Youtube? I simply cannot deal with the endlessly stop-starting buffering of Crunchyroll.
