the scene that puts this movie over the top for me is when he bounces back in the ring and starts making money again. He takes that money and provides for his family and then REPAYS all of the loans he received, even the welfare money from the government.

The most memorable scene is the when max hits James knocking out his mouth guard, max thinks he has him, But James picks it back up and fights like a lion. that very part shows how courageously determined he is to his family, This movie is just Beautiful

Inspirational movie! Better than Rocky because of the true story aspect.

People who are having a hard time due to the recession need to watch this movie. It'll give them that shot in the arm they're looking for.

If you like inspirational stories like, you should read The Hidden Secret in Think and Grow Rich. It shows the natural process of goal achievement and when you read it and go back and watch this, you see exactly how James used it to naturally achieve his goals. It's pretty cool.

I say the movie is great. It's a beautiful story of how hard not only being a boxer but being a family man as well especially in the time of great depression. But I believe Max Baer and the other boxers are GOOD people too.

James J Braddock may not have been the best boxer in histhory but he the true being of a boxer. Never giving up no matter what. We actually had to watch this movie at the Gym to take a closer look what determination really is.

in my rating book this movie gets 9.5/10

why a 9.5 cause Russel places the accent in some scenes but not all of them. ( do iit in all or dont do at all ) other than that really great

When I see Crowe as Jimmy Braddock I see my father over and over. My father was a battler to the very end. No backing up, only pressing forward. And he loved this great country too.

Cinderella Man is beautiful. When Crowe gives back his unemployment dollars as he was getting back on his feet I thought this is the America we need NOW.

I saw first hand this same kind of man 32 years ago. At 66 years of age, my hero battled cancer back in '76 & '77. The Doc said this beautifully healthy man from Ireland who had the body of a much younger man had a body full of cancer and would be gone in 5 or 6 months. My father was an Irish gentleman and came to this country on June 14 1929 off the boat. Two weeks before he died I asked him one night what he was most proud of ... "I went thru the Depression never on the dole", he said.
