  • Great video!!!

  • I bet that we can also use a USB port as a power supply!

  • is it a 1/10 scale servo?

  • Really great idea to make it from servo, thumbs up man.

  • happ birthdayyy man lol ur present is that i subbeddd and i liked ur vid ;P

  • Happy Birthday bro.

  • I came to this video through your DX6i with a LED☺

I'm not new to flying but new to RC model flying and bought my first

DX6i yesterday to practice on a flight sim.

    I thoroughly enjoy your tutorials☺

    Kind regards, Pete

  • 6 month late happy birthday :) you are now 63 years old

  • Happy late bday

  • Hi NightFlyyer,

It may not look good, but the motor you designed is perfect for that little job. A large screw-driver would be slower to use because you have to aim the driver head at the screw, but the smaller one you made is almost like doing things by hand, very nice.

It is also the perfect speed, and you do not have to think about reducing the speed because it is just a single push and the screw is loose.

    Take care,

    mrbluenun

  • Happy Birthday

  • @littledigger2009 hes years older now....i think like 63

  • @flyingchimp99 well than happy b-lated birthday

  • you autofocus is trying really hard :)

  • could you make a winch servo this way?

  • sounds wierd :))

  • well it's 10 of November 2010, but it's the first time I see this vid sooo. nevertheless - happy birthday 6 feb 2011 and coming :-)

  • I am always amazed at soldering skills of some people. Mine hold up but look like sh*t XD

Must say i was expecting some shrink tubing. Nice little project though!

  • Happy Birthday

I have learned quite a bit.

Thanks for putting out your video.

  • you look like my pedophile neighbor

  • What a colossal waist of time!

You can buy one $10 and it comes with batteries, charger and interchangeable bits!!!

  • nice vid!!!

  • Happy Birthday....:) Nice video by the way!

  • happy birthday=)!!

  • Happy birthday..a little late now but anyhow. hope you have plenty more!! great videos...everyone of them! good luck Dave

  • Since I am not mechanically inclined, how much would you charge to make one I could buy from you?

  • i wish i had lots of sevo and had some to make projects o yea my birthday is 02/11

  • Does any type of amazing goop work as an epoxy for RC stuff and foams?

  • NO good on foam. It is flexible (like rubber) when dry, but very strong then. Epoxy is brittle, but best for foam.

  • alright. ill have to be careful glueing the nylon motor mount that i broke in half on my FMS Skytrainer.

  • @NightFlyyer can you make a video of you makeing the screwdriver like with out stoping the video because i dont get what to take off you take parts off then you start the video again

  • I MADE ONE ITS SO AWESOME

habby birthday and now happy holidays

  • Happy birthday buddie!!!!!!!!

  • happy b-day

  • ill probobly do this for the most usefull alen that can be used for most of my plane stuff thats hard to get to

can you do a video of soldering bananna clips im horrible at it i keep messing up and it takes forever

    thank you very much

    rockonmyfriend

  • this may be late but... HAPPY BIRTHDAY

you know i mean well lol

how much can i find an old servo for and where?

    thank you,

    rockonmyfriend

  • Is there any way to make one with out servos, but with a regular

    motor?

  • I love it Dave, that is such a great idea..

    PM

  • happy birthday your so helpful thanks

  • ha ha ah

  • happy birth day!

  • jeah, good idea

  • what will happen if you push the two buttons at the same time?

cause there is no protection for the battery

  • Haha. If I was that uncoordinated, I would not need an electric screwdriver in the first place. LOL. Good point tho. I usually see it not work (which is what happens), and make the instant adjustment. I'm fast, I guess, but a diode could fix that.

  • you shoud sell these

  • I could never figure out how to wire up the kind of circut you did for this, but it makes all the more sense for me now. I have little motors laying around in my parts bins that I could use for this project and make up some great fun things with them.

  • happy birth day nightflyyer

  • interesting

  • did you toss the chip? i was just wonering please tell me soon!

  • Gone, but I kept the connector. LOL.

  • Can you do it only with a Kraft?

  • Ive done it with Hitec and Futaba servos, no sweat. Im sure you could do it to all of the bigger ones.

  • I may just build a palm sized driver for when I am doing things with my robotics.

  • I use mine all the time. Try it.

  • McGuyver has nothin on you buddy. Happy Belated BD. Thanks for takin your time for an old squid the other day!

  • Haha. Than, you sir.

  • thank u

  • Thank you too.

  • happy birthday dude! great idea

  • Thanks kindly.

  • does it need to be that tipe of switch? i tried to make it but it did not work

  • Yes, the switch has to be the same type as mine in order for it to reverse.

  • alright,thanks!

  • you birth day is nov 6?

  • NO.

  • i have a idea for you:an old VCR Rewinder, would it make a good screwdriver?the part that rewinds it-yes,i know it would also have to make it rotate forward, but would it work?my dad took a old one and took my legos, melted the plastic onto the rewinder and then he put a bunch of lego people on it and made it spin until they all fell off.but does it have the power to turn a screw?

  • I do not think there is enough torque. It would have to be geared down like a servo to get enough. But hey, go for it.

  • Haha, you love using video transitions :P

    Great videos :)

  • Haha. If you got em, flaunt them. LOL Thanks kindly.

  • happy birthday

  • Thanks kindly.

  • happy 61st birthday did u upload this vid on your birthday

  • Thanks. Day after.

  • Thanks Dave. Now i Dont need to use my normal screwdrive. And i need this coz i crash my copters :S

    Happy flying And happy birthday

  • Me either, but I sure take a lot of other things apart. LOL.

  • Hi Dave. I just managed to kick myself off line, so if you get a partial message from me I'm sorry.

First a very happy birthday to you. Second, I like your idea of turning an old servo into a power screwdriver. I want to add my own twist to it by epoxying a 1/4" socket into the final drive gear for a more versatile tool. It might come in real handy for those field repairs and bolt on wings. I'll let you know if I can scrape together enough free time to build it. ;-) Take care.

    Tom

  • That is a great IDEA TOO. Thanks.

  • happy birthday dave!

  • happy birthday and you look well for your age

  • Thanks very much.

  • 5* as always... I'm going to get my hands down on a servo soon... I'm thinking of switchables tips (sorry I don-t know how to name them in english)

  • Thanks very kindly. Connectors maybe?

  • Happy Birthday!!!! YEAH! brak wings

  • Thank you.

  • great vid dave and happy 61st birthday!!!

  • Thanks very much.

  • Great video.....Thanks for all your hard work!!! I'm looking for your TX mod that smooths out the left stick......where did it go??

    Keep up the great videos!!!

  • Dont know if I made one. Just slip a piece of silicone hose over the ratchet arm in the tx and it will be done.

  • Happy birthday hey ur luvky not to have as much grey hair as my dad lol

hope you make it to 100 :)

  • LOL. Thanks much.

  • Happy birthday sorry for the late one. Just found this and thanks for the good tips on RC helicopters got one my self. A Walkera 36B RTF that is NOT RTF :P needs alot of tuning. still cant use Cyclic a little wind and it goes that way and cant stop it :P

  • Thanks. Make sure to study my 9 heli flying tips and hope that helps as helis are hard enough without wind. LOL.
