It may not look good, but the motor you designed is perfect for that little job. A large screw-driver would be slower to use because you have to aim the driver head at the screw, but the smaller one you made is almost like doing things by hand, very nice.
It is also the perfect speed, and you do not have to think about reducing the speed because it is just a single push and the screw is loose.

@NightFlyyer can you make a video of you makeing the screwdriver like with out stoping the video because i dont get what to take off you take parts off then you start the video again
Haha. If I was that uncoordinated, I would not need an electric screwdriver in the first place. LOL. Good point tho. I usually see it not work (which is what happens), and make the instant adjustment. I'm fast, I guess, but a diode could fix that.
I could never figure out how to wire up the kind of circut you did for this, but it makes all the more sense for me now. I have little motors laying around in my parts bins that I could use for this project and make up some great fun things with them.
i have a idea for you:an old VCR Rewinder, would it make a good screwdriver?the part that rewinds it-yes,i know it would also have to make it rotate forward, but would it work?my dad took a old one and took my legos, melted the plastic onto the rewinder and then he put a bunch of lego people on it and made it spin until they all fell off.but does it have the power to turn a screw?
Hi Dave. I just managed to kick myself off line, so if you get a partial message from me I'm sorry.
First a very happy birthday to you. Second, I like your idea of turning an old servo into a power screwdriver. I want to add my own twist to it by epoxying a 1/4" socket into the final drive gear for a more versatile tool. It might come in real handy for those field repairs and bolt on wings. I'll let you know if I can scrape together enough free time to build it. ;-) Take care.
Happy birthday sorry for the late one. Just found this and thanks for the good tips on RC helicopters got one my self. A Walkera 36B RTF that is NOT RTF :P needs alot of tuning. still cant use Cyclic a little wind and it goes that way and cant stop it :P
Many Many thanks for your videos. Without your well produced and informative videos, I would not be in the position I am today with regards to rc helicopters. Your videos are a real inspiration to the hobby =)

Does any type of amazing goop work as an epoxy for RC stuff and foams?
speedstakerguy 2 years ago
NO good on foam. It is flexible (like rubber) when dry, but very strong then. Epoxy is brittle, but best for foam.

alright. ill have to be careful glueing the nylon motor mount that i broke in half on my FMS Skytrainer.

I do not think there is enough torque. It would have to be geared down like a servo to get enough. But hey, go for it.
