This was built in October 2008 buddy, you do realize that technology advances do you not? And fyi an 8600 @ 4.5ghz is far superior for gaming, this computer was built for high end gaming, not multitasking.
@xTHETRAINx ye amd r cheaper but performance and benchmark wise intel always win even with amd cpu's tht r clocked higher intel's got better architecture within the cpu
lol who wants to buy my pc it has windows 7 enterprise 200 gigs of hard drive 1 1/2 gigs of memery 256 mb HD VIDEO card 2.6 dual core ranked by windows 4.0 light sribe dual layer dvd cd writer nd reader wireless keyboard nd mouse from micorsoft
I decided to go with the 8600 due to the overclocking capabilities and also the fact that the e8600 @ 4.5ghz is far superior to any quad cores that were available in 2008 for pure gaming.
@fergoway2go a quality of a cpu is not just limited by the clock speed, also lots of factors, a quadcore plus multi threading plus l3 cache deffs gonna pwnt the e8600 and i believe in game 3x gtx 280s will only very slightly outperform a 2x gtx 280s on a e86 simply becoz the e86 reaches the limit. i have 3x 5870s on i7 965 and i still only experience slight improvement over 2x4890.
do you know anything about computer hardware and gaming? most games in 2008, actually just about every game available in 2008 would perform better on an overclocked dual core compared to a quad core. can you tell me what games were specifically optimized for quad core in 2008?
seeming on how i also build computers dual ill 100% agree with on how dual core's kick ass more then quads for gaming. unless u happen to find a quad threaded game. even if so.never the less. dual core's cant quite handle multi high end card's huge bottleneck.
@tomscustompcs Yp that true even now in 2010. @tomscustompcs you told him brother lmao, bloody nubs. I hate having arguments about people who dont even research let alone having experience and make stupid comments. Lucky we do have a few more games optimised for Quad and soon probably for Hex and Octa with those new AMD babies.
I build high end pc's as per clients request, eg; you contact me about building the fastest computer within your budget and I'll have it at your door step in 5 business days, bench marked and stress tested
@tomscustompcs am interested in making business with u, but in a couple of months how much warranty do i get out of a computer if i buy it from u?? i mean what if i buy it and it fails in a few weeks, and what would u be able to build for500?? tight budget i know but chances are it wont go pass a dual core lol... but seriusly how much of a pc u would be able to build for 500??? AND HOW MUCH WAS THIS ONE SOLD FOR?? SORRY ABOUT CAPS!@
@luian90 Honestly you won't get much for $500 especially if you include a slim profit margin for building it. The only computers that you will find for that cheap are the ripoffs that you find in WalMart or something. Why, because they buy shitty parts in bulk and get great deals on those shitty parts and then throw a 1tb hdd in there because people think that's all that matters.
However, you can get something mildly decent w/o a GPU included for that but profit margin would still be omitted.
@tomscustompcs I have a friend building me a custom desktop, after putting up with the mediocre experience of using a weak laptop I think custom desktops will by my way from now on. :)
With a good cooling system its 100% stable got a E8500 3.16 overclocked to 4.1 Ghz. Intel is like made to overclock if you got the right cooling like this guy does.

Very nice pc. I use an E8600 with BioStar TPower I45 (A great mobo for overclocking), the two go together perfectly.
I use H50 water cooler, and have it at 4Ghz, at 1.35V.
Your 4.5GHz with air cooling does seem a bit much for the cpu to take.
But if your temps are ok, and its stable, then I guess its ok.
I think the most I'll do is 4.2GHz, I don't wanna burn out the little guy. Look after your cpu and your cpu looks after you!
colinjava1 1 year ago
@colinjava1 h50 is barely water cooling, and air cooler that is large enough will work just as good as it if not better depending on the product.

you got a core duo to 4.5GHz? doubt its stable...
johnyrockshell 2 years ago
@johnyrockshell
It's 3,33GHz @ stock, so I bet it can be stable.
It's not that huge of a overclock.
Od3ri 2 years ago
really? i though the i7 was 3.33GHz stock
johnyrockshell 2 years ago
@johnyrockshell
Sorry for late reply :)
i7 920 is 2,66GHz @ stock :)
Only the i7 975 Extreme Edition, which costs over 800 euros here in Finland, is 3,33GHz @ stock :o

With a good cooling system its 100% stable got a E8500 3.16 overclocked to 4.1 Ghz. Intel is like made to overclock if you got the right cooling like this guy does.
RobertAYYY 2 years ago
That is ridiculous,how much did that sell for?

nice...the key to sellin custom rigs is properly doing cable management and you did a great job of doing so. question how much did u end up sellin it for??
CABdosdos 2 years ago
dam, u have a rig like that and u talk bout the dvd/cd supermulti "all in one! really nice!" rofl-.-
pogodrummer 2 years ago
omg that rig with that processor -.-"
pogodrummer 2 years ago
@pogodrummer
That processor is faster in nowadays' games than most quad core processors since games can't use more than 2 cores.
Od3ri 2 years ago
yeah, it's true, but sincerely i would spend a bit more on a q or qx 9650 and OC it
pogodrummer 2 years ago
@pogodrummer
Yeah, I know what you mean.
Actually, me too.
*Waiting for my i7 920 to arrive.*
