the Abdominal Band at 2.01 is clearly not visible on my pokie -
I think its P fasciata but it could be P striata. its a 4 1/2"-5" sub adult very bright yellow warning legs. I need to make a vid of it. but it probably wont be HD. lol
hi jon, i know that the p regalis has a "white band" under its abdomen, and its the only pokie with it right? my friend sold me a pokie and said it was a regalis, but its at 2 1/2 inches now and i dont see a white band, what pokie could it be??
2) I can't really pinpoint much because I need more info. Does it have the yellow legs? Or does it have orange hair? My guess would be fasciata, striata or pederseni.
They should. I have a 2'' P.metallica and P.fasciata already showing colors. Best to take a picture or a video of the specimen. Your's could be P.striata
@Jon3800 i see. yup no yellow warning legs. i'll do more research. thanks man, im not that good in identifying pokies yet, the metallica and regalis being the easiest. i'll see if i can take a good enough picture/video. i'll let you know. thanks again jon.
I'd ask you to look over my video called "Overview of Poecilotheria species". Its a detailed video of all the pokies in my collection. Each species is unique so it shouldn't be too hard.
@Jon3800 hey jon, just a little update. the "regalis" i have just molted, 3 inches now. i see the yellow on the legs, still no white band. i do see brownish-orange hairs under torch light...i looked at striata pics like you said, and they do look very similar...hmmm...
Congratulations, her colors are stunning. P. regalis is probably my favorite colored pokie. Of course I say that because of the yellow patterns on legs. LOL
I'm 80% sure my B. albiceps is on the brink of a molt because its colors are dark and it hasn't accepted food in a week or two. I've also noticed a small patch of web in 1 in. by 1 in. box (estimates of course) so I'm thinking she is close to a molt.
also, i have an empty 10 gal. that I don't have use for so i am thinking of sectioning it in half with a piece of plexiglass and putting two arboreals in there. Most probably Avic. avics but i was wondering if there was anything else you'd reccomend that is cheap...
Hey jon, remember me i havnt been commenting. U saved my poecilotheria regalis' life she had a semi wet molt. so i put her in the icu. shes fine now, Thank you

that's pretty much the cheapest avic. I just bought an Avicularia fasciculata 1/2 inch at $95
Jon3800 2 years ago
woah...thats a lot...lol. what size do you think would work for half of a ten gallon? i was thinking 3" but that seemed a little small.
triggerman73 2 years ago
3-4 inch. My regalis looks puny in that 10 gallon and she's only 6 inches

She's stunning! Ant wants to get a P Regalis at some point but I don't know if I'm brave enough! Chris

Start off with P.cambridgei or P,irminia. If you can keep those no problem, you're set for pokies :)
