Played this in a band in the 80's - great number to play! The Silencers were so under rated.

What the hell this is to do with sectarianism is beyond me.

Being a Celtic fan I have no objection to the likes of 'Simply the Best' being sung by the Bears and there should be similar feelings about 'The Fields of Athenry' from our tribe!

This comes from the album "Seconds of Pleasure" from 1993.The band used to open their gigs with this song just after it was written. It has got fuck all to do with football..yes I know Sportscene started using it as their theme..and every song on the album was written by Jimme O'Neill.
