  • you can cut your own fingers with this type of kerambit.. once it folds.. that is, your fingers gone...

    not recomended..

  • @kheirul somewhat true (i doubt you'd lose all your fingers), but that is the case with all folding knives. If they fold, you're in trouble. So what you are really saying is that folding knives are not recommended at all. While fixed blades are probably more reliable in use, most people prefer the discretion and ease of carry of a folding knife on a daily basis. A good folder has a good lock.

  • $70 from yourself or custom tactical.com?

  • pretty affordable? like most spyderccos? and 70 dollars? i love spydercos, but they arent very affordable.....

  • @billymayer1000 $70 for a zombie apocolypse defense tool that could save your life isn't too shabby!

  • @customtacticals lol! I would hope I wouldn't have to get that close though!

  • @billymayer1000 pretty affordable as in $120 Spyderco versus a $250+ Emerson or a $400+ Strider knife.

Spyderco is a pretty affordable company for the quality of blades they make

  • @MagpulFTW well, think of it this way, it is a good value as in it is priced well, but most of us can not afford to pay that much, i have a tenacious, that is affordable

  • Do you still have it?

  • What if there was a brass knuckle kerambit?

  • holy f*** what the h*** are you gonna do with that f***ing thing...oh..oh its a knife....nevermind

  • @beatfreak209 what?'

  • Isn't this the same dude from Breitlingsource ?

  • not my knife, great review

  • what are they made for?

  • @Quey79

    Self defense.

  • @zanuha Actually, the original karambit was a much more utilitarian knife; they've evolved to become tactical though.

  • i never really knew what the purpose of the kerambits were, care to explain?

lke is the blade sorta like a utitlity knife or is that just design?

  • ugly :(

  • the most stupid knife in the hole world :)

image you hit the door or something when you got your hand between the knife and the hold :D say bye to your fingers :D

  • @wuptti called a lock retard

  • @wuptti

    What?

There's this thing called a locking mechanism, it happens to lock the blade in place.

  • what is this blade used for?

  • @steel54321 kerambits where designed i think it was the philipines for just edc americans use them to fight

  • Thanks for the review. I wanted a quality karambit but didn't want to pay the price of an Emerson. koky5150 is wrong. I found one is stock at Blade HQ and now it's on the way to me.

Keep up the good work...It's greatly appreciated.

  • Thanks for the review. I wanted a quality karambit but didn't want to put out the dough for an Emerson. koky5150 was wrong. I ordered one from Blade HQ on 4/3/2010 and it is on the way to me now.

  • looks like a damn vulture

  • lol looks like a birds beak.

  • Get the Emerson Combat Karambit, that one sucks ass.

  • Ugly ass knife.

  • damn an ugly blade man...

    Sorry.. really a miss- buy

  • why its not available anymore?

  • @koky5150 You're welcome. I'm glad you have so much gratitude for the work I put into this.

  • @customtacticals hey man... i think its a good review, thanks, I used karambit when i was learning eskrima whn i was living in the philippines and i think that the grip of the weapon you're reviewing is ridiculous, and it has a feature missing, normal/traditional karambits would normally have both sides of the knife bladed...

  • i have a FOX Karambit, and it is my EDCK since 3 years, it is just the best! I even like it better than the Emerson.

  • I love karambits but this one just plan looks ugly

  • not a big fan of the handle

  • it looks unfinished like there should be handle scales on it

  • well put dtester.

the thing is, people dont usually like

folding karambits. i myself among them.

still is a beauty. i would put coat of

desert coyote on it though. too

shiny. but to one his own.

  • yea, it cuts your finger.

  • its called a karambit people not kerambit

its a mistake made by many

the knife itself looks like very decent quality

but the handle is way to bulky and flat

folding karambits are never as good as fixed blade ones

  • no its not, its called a lawi ayam. albeit this version is foldable

  • it's actually spelled three ways

    karambit

    kerambit

    korambit

spelling is kerambit is NOT incorrect, and it is NOT a mistake made by many.

  • old comment is old

  • whoa that's nice, too bad it may be out of production.

It looks like an excellent fighter...some comments suggest that some people don't know how a kerambit works. You put your index finger in the hole and hold the knife in a reverse carry. This give you a nasty impact point for your punch attacks and a "claw" at the other end of the fist. with the hole it is harder to lose the knife and you can open your hand to crab without letting got of the knife.

  • hi can u change the name of this video and name it batangas varsitarian so that evry batangeno can view this nice video

  • People, if you don't know how kerambits are used and rated me thumbs down for a true comment, you just need to take some lessons on how to use Malayan weapons. Learn how to use a kerambit, keris, etc.

Which obviously you won't, because I'll be proven right.

  • @HollyTheFireNinja Its INDONESIAN

I was studying it rit now :)

  • @imhoteph99161 A lot of things from Indonesia have been borrowed over to Malaya and vice versa when the royal families used to marry their princesses to other royal families. If you're studying it right now you should know about the close ties these two countries share.

  • @imhoteph99161 Hey now-dont forget how the karambit is used ALL OVER southern asia in malaysia, india, the phillipines, and laos. :D

  • it looks like a bird

  • You don't put your little finger in the ring.

  • Some people dont like putting their pinky in the ring because in a tactical situation, the opponent may have a chance to disarm you and snap off your finger.

  • Exactly, tell this guy that!

  • oh sorry I thought you are asking him why he doesn't put his pinky in the ring =) my bad.

  • Comment removed

  • um ya u do

  • Sure, venopulse. And break a finger. Very "tactical".

  • I liked when he said "uhh"

    btw nice review. 5stars

  • i wish they would make another. g10,thinner, lockback. i would love that :)

  • i saw it the other day and couldnt find it anywhere. just wanted cuz i thought it looked real cool haha

  • it's not a fad. spyderco has been around for 31 years, started off making sharpeners. they started making folding knives 28 years ago, so it's no fad my son. so you look at one design and say it's impractical...well yes if you plan on slicing an apple, if you plan on slicing a bad guy it's very practical, depending on if you know how to handle a kerambit, by the sounds of it you don't...but spyderco is no fad, get that straight.

  • most spydercos are very useful. like the more run of the mill models like the delica, endura, military, native, centofante etc. are all knives that you'd use for every day activites. They are not show pieces, unless of course you plan on collecting them as savequeens, then they'll showpieces. personally all my spydercos get used for everything from peeling an apple to cutting food...except for a few fully serrated hawkbill models. i haven't sliced a bad guy yet but they'd all do the job.

  • @pocketbanana For everything from peeling an apple to cutting food?

So in short: for cutting food. Which normal people use kitchen knives for.

  • @brottarnacke what i actually meant to say was "anything from cutting an apple to cutting a bad guy" , that's why i made the bad guy refererence afterwards. i realized after that fact i had repeated myself by saying "from an apple to cutting food" but i thought blaa whatever just leave it. yes, normal people use kitchen knives but i use my spydercos because i enjoy the razor edge that lasts a long time.

  • YOU MAKE ME SO ANGRY COCK MONGER!

  • Easy kid. You gonna poop your pants.

  • u sound sleepy

  • i think it looks cool

  • its ugly

  • ur face is ugly uhhhhh!!!

  • it's also not two hundred dollars

  • What type of soldier would carry a folding kerambit?

  • As a backup to a fighting knife or as a concealed weapon.

  • all you guys are a bunch of dicks.....

I'd buy it. looks pretty fuckin painful if you ask me

  • Beautiful to me! IMO a very cool Spyderco.

  • Misunderstood beauty.

  • thats not the traditional kerambit..

the traditional one is much more cooler

  • I own a Spyderco Civilian (serrated) and a Police (plain). And I really want a Karambit as well, but here in Germany those knives are so damned expensive. We've to pay about 100% more - in euros.

    But I think I'll get one! :-D

  • Try the Byrd Crossbill, a chinese-made brand of Spyderco, and that model is amazing!

  • the crossbill does have a hawksbill blade, but it's no karambit

  • Order it from the states, it's the only way to go.

  • thats a cool knife

  • thats the uglyest knife i have ever seen,

i have a victorinox huntsman, and a true utility belt knife, they are good lookin and quite reasonable.

  • Ita about utility not vanity.

  • Very deadly knife, you need to be highly skilled to use it properly

  • Lackluster design - handles are too slick for a solid grip and there's no thumb break.

A rare miss for Spyderco. Warren Thomas however has plenty of experience in making pretty looking knives that don't work well.

  • u should do an italian stiletto review.

  • why is it so big if its just a small blade it dosent make sence to me .

  • I does seem a bit chunky! It's usable as a Yawara stick as well though, so it might aid that.

  • awesome i love it and i love you
