I don't think Poland liked being occupied by Soviet forces from 1945-1990. Sure, they appreciated the Red Army ending German occupation but remember that the Red Army slaughtered Polish officers early in the War when Stalin collaberated with Hitler when they dismembered Poland. My final comment on this. I worked for ICI plastics devision for a number of years,in the Sixties. We were working on non oil based polymers back then. Oil Based plastics will be replaced by alternatives within 10 to 20 years after all we had bakalite before oil based polymers, so we can still have our plastic gadjets just not made from oil. Oh! just one last word, we closed our coal fields down due to economics.The UK still has I believe 300 years worth of coal under us, we can soon dig it out

We can supply all our electricity by the power of the oceans and our road transport will be powered by Hydrogen.
