Dude! This was fantastic.. I never really listened to all of your channel until this morning. I used to play this back in the day. Our piano parts differ slightly, the Hammond parts almost identical but this solo shines! I was never able to put it all together when we played live, just the highlights. I am very impressed!
@Cast412, thank you David, I couldn´t imagine that I can still impress you. Thought you pull this off for ages, in fact it´s not that difficult to play, only to learn it by ear note for note was the problem.
I am using a VST plugin (virtual instrument) from Native Instruments called B4 II. It is a simulation of the legendary Hammond B3. Thanx for commenting!
Heey bro, could you upload part 1 and 3 again plz? i really like these tutorials and would love to learn the missing parts ( 2 and 4 are awesome) thx YOU ROCK!

Hey, I was wondering if you could put up a video on how to play Santeria by Sublime. I have been looking all over the web, and I tried to order it, but no company publishes it for piano. So could you please try to put it up as quickly as possible? THANX A BUNCH!!
@oldmanmike89: hey Mike, thanks for the nice comment. I am using especially for the solo part a VST plugin from Native Instruments called B4 II. It is a simulation of the legendary Hammond B3. For part 1-3 of the tutorial i am using a patch preset of my Korg V3 called "Rotary Organ" which i modified a bit of course! hope that helped you! rockin' Greetz from Brazil!!!
If your ever in New Orleans look me up on Bourbon St. I play most of the top clubs down there 4-5 nites a week. No matter where I travel or go to play music I always come back to my roots and believe me New Orleans is a MEGA of musicians and talent! Keep up the great work!
This tutorial is excellet! I've been playing keys now for over 45 years and can tell you this is an outstanding teaching tool which was put together with much thought and consideration to the viewer. UNdoubtably anyone with a slight bit of experiance on keyboards can watch this and use it to slowly develop the dexterity to pull off this solo. Great work.. keep it up!
Awesome!!!! Seriously one of the best tutorials out there. Hey how do u like your organ ... I've just got a Kurzweil PC2 with organ sounds but am trying out a Korg CX3.....again one of the best tutorials out there...Thanks
Thanx man! I really like the organ sound of my Korg, very close to the CX3, that i had before, too! About the PC2 i cannot say nothing, because i never played it. But for this Tutorial, i used the B4 plugin by Native Instruments! thank you for the comment and for subscribing ... keep rockin'
@rushyeskansas Quick question..... why did you give up your CX3 for the Korg?? Just in the process of discerning what kind of organ/keyboard I want. Completely happy with my Kurzweil - just need something with more of an organ feel. Tks.
In fact, i had a BX3 (it´s a double CX3) .. first of all, it was too big and too heavy to transport and second, i needed a keyboard with more possibilities! more sounds, simply more modern! but i loved the sound of the BX3!
Amazing. I`ve been playing for over 16 years and this is one song I`ve tried looking for but always find a simplified version. FINALLY. Someone who posts a great tutorial. I actually can`t wait to go home and play this till my fingers bleed. I`m definately going to check out your others....I`ve been meaning to learn foreplay/longtime...hmmm :P
Dude, seriously, can you write them on guitar pro? if u do i LOVE YOU. i got a tab but it very simplefied. plz make one with full song + solo! if u do just /poke me
This is how tutorials should be presented - the teacher emulating and demonstrating the way the piece should be approached and practiced by the student. You have a clear understanding of what it means to be a good teacher. I applaud you!
I already played 99, but it´s been a long time ago! Neverthelesse i saw a good cover here in youtube and he even offers the sheetmusic for free on his blog! Look for channel satinbeaus! thanx for the comment!
dude, the solo is crazy hard compared to the rest of the song. I just learned the chorus part and perfected the transition from verse to chorus. i'm working on the solo, but the 'blues scale' part keeps getting me. Can you write a fingering?
k, i got what was bugging me. I can play the first two parts of the solo pretty well, and i've got the notes (and the fingerings thnx) for the part 2:12 to 2:19, but i can't get the timing right, it always comes out off. I don't know how i'm ever going to get this up to speed
for getting this up to speed, first of all you need a bit of patience and a lot of practice. as you already mentioned, this solo is not that easy! so you cannot expect to play it in one day ... neither did I. Do the exercises as i showed from 5:20! cut this difficult part in logical sequences and practice always from the beginning of this part ....
... when you have the first sequence up to the speed you want, add the next sequence and so on until you have the whole thing in an accurate speed. thats how i use to learn difficult parts. Don´t give up, you will make it!!!

what are the chords for the solo? If I am playing in the key of E, I just need to transpose every single note, right?
Thanks for the tutorial
