You're right ritter89. The actor's name was Tony Fields. He was a dancer on solid gold. I think he also had some bit parts in a few other movies. He died in the early to mid 90's from Aids. I can't remember the exact year. If you go on the internet movie database (idmb) you can get the full cast as well as info on the movie.

Yeah, but the singer from Fastway (forget his name) was really obvious about it. He even had the same vocal phrasing. Don't get me wrong, though, I love this tune. I first heard it when I was a teenager and it still sounds good to me. That main riff is infectious. All bands steal/copy, some are just more subtle about it. Forget who said this: "good artists borrow but the great ones steal"

It's a real drum set, it's just saturated with reverb with the low end eq'ed out. Music producers throughout the 80's overproduced the drums. Listen to the drum sound on Def Leppard's Pyromania...dreadful.
