Fatal Fury 2 (Sega Genesis/MD) - Jubei Play

This game was ported to the Game Boy (Japan only) as Nettou Garou Densetsu 2. All of the speech is gone, however text bubbles appear when special or super attacks are performed. All characters are present, and you can play as the bosses. Bonus stages are missing, and the plane switching has been removed. The control is very responsive. It contains the artwork from the arcade endings. All moves and stages are present. The music is great.

Play as bosses: Press Select 3 times on the TAKARA logo.

I hear this was quite an improvement over The Genesis FF1. I need to hunt this one down. and Jubei is AWESOME!

Indeed to both.

It may not look or sound as pretty as the SNES and Neo-Geo versions of the game, but the core game mechanics are wildly different in a good way. The control is tight and spot-on, too. To me, this is the best version of Fatal Fury 2/Special.

Fatal Fury Special wasn't on the Mega Drive/Genesis, but it was released for the Sega CD, SNES, Neo-Geo, and PC Engine CD (Arcade Card required).

Oh, I know it wasn't on the Genesis. I was just saying that I'd rather play this than FFS, as bizarre as that sounds.

I didn't realize that FFS was on the Sega CD. Do you know if it was any good?

@fuzzymoochicken it was pretty much like it's Neo-Geo Counterpart (with the music taken from the NG version). one thing is that like the AES version, it does have limited continues.

@figment1988 Augh, I hated the limited continues thing. That's really frustrating, especially when you're a little kid. =P You're just like, "Hey, this is my game! I should have unlimited continues if I want!"

@fuzzymoochicken. now with unlimited continues (via Fatal Fury Battle Archives 1), it seems rather easy, but i often try to play with less continues than the previous time i play any of the FF games.
