I was very frustrated with the new AVG antivirus update, so I researched alternative free anti-virus products. I've been using Panda for about a month and like it very much. It doesn't slow my processor down and still catches evil cookies/viruses/worms.

Best AV according to PC magazine.

I had the Pro version for free from cnet and Yeh my laptop

is very quick with this AV.

Just one thing...why is the full scan so slow it takes 3.5 hours (MY LAPTOP HAS 70% FREE SPACE!!)

The quick scan is very fast..just the full scan i don`t like it.

because it is checking all data and if there is a virus nisted within a file.

for this reason, many AVs are prefering using heuristics to do a full search,

but in fact this isnt a full search anymore.

heuristics are meant to generate much quicker but dont give the optimal result. so there can be a way that a virus might slipp through your AV.

had AVG 9.0, it really had my laptop slowed down(multiple tasks using cpu)and the worst thing is I paid 50e for it. Happily removed it 3 nights ago(afterJust2months) an replaced it with Pandacloud for free. She feels like a speed machine again.

I tested most of the antivirus out there (due to job) and I personally like the unsung hero BitDefender GameSafe (not the new rubbish 2010 versions). Don't like panda cause its annoying with alot reminder warning even you turn if off

Prevx is only 800KB and scans my system in just a few minutes not over an hour like Panda Cloud. I do like that Panda Cloud is free though.
