  • ROCKIN AND A ROLLING STILL IN 2011!!!

  • I'm probably a bigger Bobby Darin fan than Buddy Holly (hmm debateable) ANyway. This outshines Bobby's version hands down. How come no-one ever put Buddy down as a possible inventor of Rockabilly?

    Mikey xx

  • He is our Buddy

  • One the oldies stations very sadly ignore!!

  • Buddy is really feeling this one! As he really did with them all, you can hear it in his voice.

  • oh where oh where can our buddy ( holly ) be , the lord took him away from me ( and all of us) i know i've gotta be good, so i can meet buddy when i leave this crazy world

  • Great song :-)

  • Hail Buddy Holly!!! He left his ghosts that sill rocks the hell out!!

  • How much is this like Ray Charles's I got a woman

  • Reputedly Buddy Holly's own favourite of all the many songs he had recorded during his all too brief life!

  • This is what you get when Buddy Holly does what he wants when he gets into the studio. Unfortunatly Decca didnt let him be himself changing his music making him do it THEYRE way... Plus the sound wasnt that great. THEN they had the nerve to not release his songs and hold them back from buddy saying "they have money wrapped up in the songs". He sould have went to Coral Records to begin with!

  • Does this seem sped up just a tad? Still, kick ass.

  • such a gospel sound....Go Buddy

  • the best of rock and roll but it went down with the plane they was on

  • another great buddy holly song

  • @rockdoowop5060

in fact it's a Bobby Darin song

  • the chorus reminds me of I got a woman by ray charles

  • Great song and love that high hat

  • I never did see Buddy, but i have met The Crickets twice, both times in Liverpool. My No 1 song of Buddy is "Raining in my heart" Imagine...

Holly & Lennon together ??? WOW. Sad though

    .................."THE DAY THE MUSIC DIED".................

  • that wood have been cool buddy holly and john lennon together so one posted a fake duet of john lennon and buddy holly but the user pulled it off i wish i wood have made a copy for my self check out jim reeves and joni james singing danny boy its a fake duet i put together

  • Were they Crispy?

  • @smego36 both lennon and holly would have spent so much time fighting with each other over what was right nothing would have ever happend anyway.

Paul mc cartney could have pulled it off with holly, holly and lennon both volatile nature would have ended in a fist fight and holly could have ended up being killed by john lennon:)

well only joking, have a good buddy holly documentary ive put up on my channel

  • YEAH! Bobby Darin and Woody Harris wrote this song, Darin made the first recording of it, but Holly's was the best. I think this is the best version of one of the best rock 'n' roll records ('50s and '60s) ever written.

  • i agree this is one of my fav songs from buddy so sad he died so young

  • they don't make music like this anymore

  • Yeah, yeah, yeah!

Oh, Buddy, it shouldn't have ended this way.

    How we love thee...

  • je ne connaissais pas par Buddy Holly

    c'est extrat Bravo!!

  • YEAH!!!! This is my favorite song by Buddy Holly!

  • king curtis ace

  • My Buddy c.d. is in my handbag,to play in the car,at work so love his songs.

  • Yes, we all do miss the great Buddy Holly.

  • Total Gospel country rock&roll Cmon Man Early In The Mornin Youre Gonna Miss Me "YEAH YEAH YEAH" Holleyuah" praise the lord that took brother "BUDDY"

  • Amen and Holleyyuah from

    this Buddy fan

  • i have never heard this one, but it's awesome!

  • That's Sam "The man" Taylor on sax...one of the best sax solos of the rock'n'roll era and he deserves the proper credit...

  • Maybe the best Buddy Holly track. Love the way King Curtis played tenor here.

  • One of my favourite Buddy songs, gone 50 years but NEVER forgotten RIP XXXX

  • The great Buddy Holly.

2/3/1959 The Day The Music Died.

    50 Years Ago Today.

You Are Lost But Never Forgotten!

  • @PackedFunk

Buddy Holly died, but not the music. It lives on!

  • @Weidenberg

    Amen to that Bro.

  • That is one cool song...one of his best!!

  • love singing to this in me head phones full blast love it xx

  • He,Chuck Berry,The Platters,Frankie Lymon,Sam Cooke and Elvis are the best 50's and 60's!!

  • I remember Buddy Holly very well. This version of Early In The Morning is by far the best rendition of this great classic rock & roll song. Thanks for posting it.

  • 50 years later it still rawks!

  • @TeehpodT amen!

  • @TeehpodT One of the best rock songs ever written! Bobby Darin was the co-writer and had the original version, but I think Buddy's is better.

  • LOL hole crap you got me wanting to break out the old phono and the 45's.

  • Love Boots Randolph honky sax¡¡

  • You're wrong my friend. Randolph used to back Holly in many songs but not in this one. Here's black sax player King Curtis

  • Is that really King Curtis? WOW!

He's an amazing player in his own right, but i never knew he'd backed Charles Hardin dude?

    Mikey xx

  • This cat was waaaay ahead of his time. He would've helped shaped music beyond the 50s had he lived like the Beatles did.

  • excellent. thanks 4 sharing.

    FROM THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

  • Bobby Darin did indeed write this, and recorded it with a group called "The Rinky Dinks" on ATCO Records....He then went on to bigger and better things under his own name...

  • Hey i wish he and elvis could have gotten to know each other better and could have done an album together can you immagine that Buddy Holly & Elvis Presley on the same track together.

  • There's never been anybody that has even come close to Buddy Holly. He was and always will be the best. I was raised on his music and I feel in love with it for over 35 years and I will never stop loving it. Buddy will live on forever through his music.

  • There's only been one Buddy Holly no one can ever come close to his perfection in singing. He will always be the best. Nobody will ever be able to do what he did. I was raised on listening to this music now my children listen to it and love it. It will never be too old to listen to, its just simply the best.

  • I prefer Buddy Holly's version to Bobby Darin's

    version...'psychoweird' has spoken!

  • Yeah but Bobby Darin couldn't sing like that.

  • I remember Bobby Darin doing this one too-holly was the one and only, of course.

  • I think Bobby Darin actually wrote it!
