I love !!!! j'ai découvert the smiths il y a quelques mois ,j'ai acheté leur best of et depuis, je les écoute presque tous les jours !! cette chanson est une de mes préférées, so british.
My all-time favorite group. Fell in love with them as a sad, lonely 12 year old in 1985. Later, at 16, in a juvenile mental hospital (depression), the cute boy in the room next door, knowing I was a "Smithy" as he said, asked me to sing these lyrics through the wall outlet to him - a way we realized we could communicate without the nurses hearing us. Good times. Morrissey, I'll ALWAYS love you...
@whereangelsplay1 don't be such a dick, he is 'asexual' - let me dumb that down for you; he isn't turned on/interested in either sex. Simple enough for you ??
@violator9 erm I think not. Have you listened to anything he's written in the last 20 years? Let's start with Come Back to Camden. Morrissey is very much not asexual :) He has a life like everyone else - for which I am very grateful ;)
The Smiths had same the credentials as The Beatles. Hey Dude was released as a single, not an album track. So was this. Not a lot of people know that. M and M released these gems as gifts to the listener, not as ads for albums. Now, all wanky bands with shit hair do that. These fellas didn`t have to. They were made, and duly relased, as bullet-proof songs in their own right.
Thank You , Billy ( William Clemet ) Oliver the 3rd for bringing this music into my life in the late 1980s. MTV onced criticized Morrissey by long forgotten VJ Mark Goodman where he said.... GO MOZ

I think some people are missing the point. Morrissey's words have been the voice of a generation and beyond, especially when combined with the genius of Marr's guitar. Why bring sexuality into it? Smiths songs are about our lives, not his.
I guess what I'm trying to say is I wouldn't mind having Morrissey for a next-door neighbor so you are going to get the mail and you say "oh hi Morrissey, what's up?" and he says "oh nothing" and you are like "yeah cool, TTYL bro".
I will say this: Morrissey is an amazing song writer and it makes me feel somehow good to admire a total flaming queen. Like if you are gonna be gay, why not totally go all the way? So I end up with something like the hetero version of gay pride. I want my gay friends to be gay and PROUD. And besides, my gay friends have really wickedly good senses of humor.
@RachaelPoole A friend of mine recommended me The Smiths, and they have a certain air of darkness, but definitely not depressing, The Cure is depressive :P
90% of men dance like that but once we're home alone, that's why besides all I admire Moz for being ready to perform like that in front of hundreds of people:)
This is when they forced you to mime your own songs for the TV. Most people played along but as you can see Morrissey wasn't feeling it. Basically this is one step below standing still, staring straight into the camera and giving the middle finger the entire time.
@pulpfresh I just can't believe how YOUNG they look! I dunno, I think he's doing the fag routine pretty well. Look at him shaking his but like a brazen hussy! I'm sorry, I just can't watch this with a straight face.
@pulpfresh How did you know that you daft cow? I had to put up with cunts, and AXL ROse kids, and poo. I am 40 and at age I caught the end of this. I bought the last bits of plastic in 1987. So I gave The Smiths my cash. It was effin everything. Not the cash but the life and the feeling. You will never know.
@thitipolp He always makes a point, whenever he is told that he must perform with the studio recording, to never use a microphone. He did it on TotP all the time.
It would have been a lot easier to follow this conversation with RachaelPoole if youtube got rid of the "Comments" section and instead used a message board type format.
This song exhibits the flowing 'bop' or whatever it's called that I totally get into. Geniuses they are. A similar example is "I Started Something I Coudn't Finish". Now, where is that one here?
@xdaggersx Agreed! Anyone who dislikes ANY Smiths song is an imbecile! I think the sort of person who dislikes these are the sort of people of my generation who like the rap culture, and overlook the lyrics entirely. I mean, of course the tune completes the mood the song conveys, but they'd probably overlook that aswell!
