Chief looks like he just came from a golf game. He is not physically fit and he does not look like a professional law enforcement officer.
He looks long past retirement and should perhaps step aside and let a younger more able officer who is willing to present a more positive image and do what is required step into his position.
All officers should have to be able to pass a physical fitness test. I'm getting so disgusted with the lack of self-respect. I stood behind a sherriff the other day and the load ordered a brick of rice-crispies. How the hell are you going to fight off an assailant when your heart stops beating? Fire this chief until he can show he cares for himself, his family and the badge. Pathetic
The police department should be all wearing the same style of uniform from the chief on down 90% of the time. There should be a name tag that can be read from 20 ft. that should id the officer as to; rank name and department. Bike patrol for officer safety bright yellow shirt with the words POLIC on the back and name tag on the front.
Next the officer should be physical fit. That includes the chief.
Thats fine, but most Police heads around the world have a formal uniform that they wear to special functions such as court or a funeral or a media event. But anyway in my opinion regardless if he is the chief there are times that he should be in uniform.
