  • moral of the movie......just take whatever damn ice cream he gives you

  • Okay, i never saw this movie, but my mom talked about it once. Here in the North of England, ice cream trucks usually offer a red syrup over icecream known locally as Monkeys blood. My mom said her and her sisters watched this movie once, and when the kid got shot, my auntie said "But i didn't ask for monkeys blood on it!" in a kids voice.

  • why is che there?

  • This, Jaws and The Untouchables are the only movies I can think of where a kid really truly buys it on-screen. Oh Schindler's List too.

  • Never seen this movie before but love John carpenters movies. Need to check this out.

  • @Pooky1991 You'd love this too. One of my favs. and its vintage carpenter

  • I'm sure that bitch Kyle probably ordered the hit on Kim and the ice cream trucker driver. Kyle is so vile.

  • What is ironic is that a scene like this was almost unimaginable back when this movie was made, but today is very much reality! When I first saw this movie back in the 70's it was the first time I ever saw a kid get killed on screen and I never heard of a kid getting shot in real life either, that was what made the scene horrifying, but today a scene like this would be no big deal for kids.

  • @JENDALL714 True..its as if Carpenter was a little ahead of his time with this. In the dvd commentary, he says that he wouldn't do a scene like this today. That in itself, is a sad commentary about the world we live in.

  • She got strawberry twirl.

  • Millions of people are starving and she gets picky about a cherry twist cone

  • This is my favorite Kim Richards movie. She was great in the Apple Dumpling Gang too.

  • The other day, I got an ice cream from McDonalds, but they forgot to put a flake in it. Considered turning back, but then I remembered this movie.

  • Did the ice cream man die? I don't think it was ever revealed in the movie.

  • @ericwei0128 Seems that way. He got punched out, then the guy fired a few shots at where he was lying.

  • Vanilla twist is to die for.

  • Ice ice baby

  • Well at least she got a cherry twist cone

  • Anyone remember Kim Richards in "Tuff Turf?"

  • Kim Richards from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is the little girl.

  • @dontblush33 Good question, I have avoided the remake like a plague, I'm now intrigued. I'd be surprised if it was.

  • was that in the remake?

  • @dontblush33 No, the remake is very different to the original, and shit.

  • Where did that guy get Han Solo's gun? Why is he hanging with El Che? Did he not shoot that wino because he reminded him of a young Kimbo Slice?

  • @hostilel7 han solo's gun is based of the mauser pistol.

  • This part in Assault on Precinct 13 was really creepy!

  • chilling

  • ALL these years later, and I can still NOT hear an ice cream truck and think of this scene.Good post.

  • That scene looks so fake. I thought she was just sprayed with some red paint instead of actually shot. Was kind of a relief actually, like it was supposed to have been some kind of joke played by the gang, that they're actually harmless. I only realized a couple seconds later that, oh, I guess she really was shot.

  • O_o How long has Bryan Ferry been driving an ice cream truck? o_O

  • she got a bit to much rasbery sorce

  • @KlaxTheUnholy ever seen the saw films?

  • it would be better if he shot her in the head

  • @Cappacino1000 It was risky to brutally murder a child in a movie back then(was probably the first) so i think a headshot would have been too much and be cut. Awesome movie and still the creepiest soundtrack('cept maybe the original Amityville Horror)

  • she deserve to die

  • Great scene.

  • Lovely place, doe's anybody know if there are houses for sale around there?

  • Looks like kind of a rough neighborhood for an ice cream truck.

  • If this was Black Ops he'd be a camper.

I would tea bag the shit out of him before meleeing.

  • That girl is actually Paris Hilton's aunt!

  • @nyfachris81 To bad it wasn't Paris Hilton's mom instead. lol

  • Sick bastard.. But the movie is great though.

  • John carpenter ist just bad Assssss!!!!!!

  • the girl getting shot was very comical but i think the best part of the movie is when the dad steps out of the phone booth and just stares at the dead bodies with the most dumbass look on his face like a "you gotta be shittin me" kind of look, haha priceless...

  • The conclusion is: Don't be a little girl nor an ice cream seller

  • LMFAO real classy

5:10 to skip to the best part

  • The ice cream truck driver knew that those guys were no good because they were driving in an AMC car.

  • That homeless drunk had no idea how close to death he was. That ice cream truck music saved his life.

  • the little girl is Kim Richards..same chick from Meatballs II and TUFF TURF...she is now a regular cast member of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

  • One of my favorite scenes in film....EVER!!

  • bitch, FUCK YO VANILLA TWIST!!

  • Who the fuck walks around with a broom handle with only 3 rounds in it!?

  • bad movie

  • @rubend5000 LOL

  • I need 2 buy this fucker again

  • Ice cream drivers are never nice white guys and clean lollipop shirts, there always dirty old indian dudes lmao

  • This is Frank Doubleday killing the girl in this scene. He also played the character "Romero" in Escape from New York.

  • the girls destiny makes me sad but fortunately his dad kills the gang member that shot her. Thing is, the girl actually dies before hitting the sidewalk. Thats why she doenst shout or scream. Could any1 post the whole film plz

  • @overlevnadsoverall you dont have 5€ to buy the movie?

  • Damn she took a shot to the chest pretty well, I have seen fully grown men bitch more from stubbing there toe.

  • "Got a smoke..."

  • i love when innocent people expecially little kids get rapped or killed in movies, its funny, in real life its fuckin funny too

  • @wrestlerboy1 um, no it isnt

  • Now thats a twist!

  • pew pew

  • Aw, little Kim Richards........dead as a doornail.

  • Owned

  • @KlaxTheUnholy Vote Up, plus one, for the truly beautiful Full Metal Jacket reference.

  • The girl was played by Kim Richards, who besides being in the original ESCAPE FROM WITCH MOUNTAIN is Paris Hilton's aunt!

  • Afrika Bambaataa made a track "Bambaataa's Thene" which sounds like music in here (0:40)

  • I guess his kid got........ shot.

    goddammit i suck at puns

  • Could it be that John Carpenter hated kids back then; and that this was part of a contribution to destroying the nuclear family in the modern world?!!!

  • @grumpypant it could very well be, as both the grown woman and the alcoholic vagrant gets off without even a warning. But having a job and money to pay with is a no go.

The cultural revolution(marxism/maoism/leninisn/relativism) is a part of anything from that period. Just look at "Superman"/"Batman"/"Wonderwoman".

  • Had cel phones existed back in those 70s days, that girl's tragedy wouldn't happened...'cause her dad could have made that call while on the freeways somewhere...She would have been about 45 years old with now with grad kids by now!!!

  • @grumpypant Dude, she got shot in the chest. Time hardly was a factor here.

  • It didn't even look like the girl got shot. It looked like he just sprayed her with red paint.

  • don't you think this is a little harsh i mean jesus all she wanted was some ice cream, also fuck yeah megablast

  • Mmm vanilla twist!

  • Lame and over the top like most "child death scenes"

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

That's pretty fucking funny to me.

  • Yeah yeah we all think your creppy and are afraid of you is that what you want to hear

  • @ACDCFan2956

    Jesus, I was being sarcastic.

  • i thought she ordered vanilla not strawberry, oh my bad

  • pretty ballsy, i admit i laughed when i saw it, and if your offended by this go look up what your tax dollars are doing to kids in iraq

  • still, it's cut of 1-2 secs circa

  • damn

  • Wow...

...he really hates vanilla ice cream.

  • Veeeery controversial scene, especially for it's time. 1976 I think?

  • I preferred The Thing

  • Pretty risky for any year.

  • she ended up getting Raspberry blast......

  • Ha!

    Nice.

  • @mynameisbobtoo awwwwh u so wrong for that lol but i still laugh and gave it a thumbs up

  • I find this scene to be the scariest scene in the history of cinema.

I kinda saw a trailer for Beware children at play... and what a load of SHIT!

torma or whatever the fuck his name is, is nothing compared to the likes of John Carpenter. JC IS THE MAN.

  • yeah, the movie was threatened with an X rating unless if that shot was edited out.

But JC tricked them. He took it out for the raitings guys and when the movie was given it's R rating, Carpenter had the version with the original scene distrbuted.

    it's all on IMDB

  • John Carpenter, original and best.

  • What taste is that vanilla twist anyway?!

  • Thats what she get for being picky lmao.

  • c'mon man, she was a kid. kids are always a pain in the ass. i think back to my childhood and i can honestly say that if i had to deal with myself, i would find myself to be an asshole.

  • I wanted vanilla twist too lol

  • 5:12 that is just fucked up.

  • Carpenter knows how to build suspense.

  • Yeah.

  • Isn't the shooter the same guy who played Issac Hayes' right hand man in 'Escape from New York'?

  • I'll have a 44 please!!

  • this was on the tv at a party and I got a load of people to watch at the right moment.

    epic "OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!"

    jokes

  • epic build up, gota love John Carpenter

  • The original girl from "Witch Mountain".. Duh..

  • And that's why love John Carpenter, the man knows how to build up to a payoff.

  • 99 flake & a murder please, mr ice cream man!!!!!!!!!!!

  • classic scene from a cult film.

  • I can here do the European by JJ in this music

  • death by ice cream

  • That is some brutal shit, shocking even by todays standards.

  • isnt it just, that is shocking when the girl gets shot,f*cking cold blooded or what.

  • You got red on you.

  • Soundtrack makes this movie. Take it away and you got half a movie. 70's version of cgi, it's all in the soundtrack...jaws, halloween, dirty harry, exorcist etc.

  • minkia

  • Great (and underrated) movie. I watched this with my girlfriend and she was so shocked at this scene she couldn't say anything for two minutes.

  • disturbing scene.

  • PWND

  • lol lol lol the girl got owned hahahahah

that is fucking classic i love it

  • AGREED. d:) It just happen often enough in movies (like..never). amazing considering the age of the film.

  • I love the shot at 00:12

  • The ice cream truck driver looks like Nic Cage

  • John Carpenter = Genius.

Classic music, classic ice-cream scene .-)

As brutally horrific today as it was when I first watched it 25 years ago.

Agree with others - it should never have been remade and I'm never going to watch the remake!

  • "I wanted vanilla twist!" *PEWT*

  • BEST "OPERA PRIMA" EVER.

  • i want a vanilla twist

    BOOOm - pwned :D

  • Well and a nice twist it is.

  • Evening Red I Mean!

  • The Atmosphere is Sooo Great in this Film! I Mean the Evening Read Heaven Atmosphere!

  • Very disturbing scene showing a young girl shot by pure evil. By the way, The girl actress is actually Paris Hilton's aunt.

  • Shit... I think I will spend next night, imagining the very same scene with Paris Hilton herself, instead of this little girl... :-)

  • ha ha!! looks like a raspberry twist now!!

  • LOLZ!

  • when i first saw the scene where the little girl got shot i almost passed out.

  • lol y did u pass out wtf i understand if ur a female but come on dont tell me your that soft

  • First of all i didn't pass out i said i ALMOST passed out. Second of all i ain't female so don't make sexist comments. Third of all i am soft :P

  • I love the cinematography in this film.

  • Perfection.

  • best

  • hey this is rasberry!

  • Carpenter is a genius.

  • this scene was disturbing...

  • Hey, I ask for vanilla twist.

  • poor little girl...IF HE WAS REAL I WOULD PEE IN HIS MOUTH!!

  • Cruel scene, but i like it

  • haha That's what you get for being picky about ICE CREAM!

  • you cant always get what you want

  • HAHAHAHA

  • I would love to see THIS movie on DVD.

  • wow, he didnt seem to like the icecream he bought :-))

  • this movie kicks ass!

  • go to hell

  • He didn't fight with the MPAA. They don't care about violence, only when it's mixed with sex...and this is an entirely sexless scene. Now, go drown yourself.

  • that little fucker had it coming to her

  • Dude, he would have burnt his ass badly if he'd put that freshly-fired gun in it.

  • Let's disregard for the moment that your argument for murdering real people is based on a fictional movie, and move on to the fact that Napoleon Wilson who is going to get the death penalty saves a police officer and other innocent people from this gang.

How do you account for that in your simplistic worldview based on fictions?

  • That I'll teach her for complaining!

  • Excellent movie, they should have never re made it, in 2005. This was the best version.

  • It's things like this that explain my support for the death penalty. I'd like to see an opponent of that watch this and then tell me a criminal still deserves to live the rest of his life in a prison, everything paid for by the very people said criminal threatens.

  • I agree with you to an extent, but I think it would be shittier to live your ENTIRE life in a tiny ass cell, so it's almost worst punishment in my opinion, but they should treat them like criminals, and not give them luxuries.

  • that is a terrible argument.

  • It's good enough for me.
