re the St Trinians reference, Auntie Renee played the art mistress in that and my sister, who was 13 at the time, played one of the pig-tailed horrors!
Tnx Mrdavidcairns. life was great . My mother,Billie Houston, was a constant source of punblic embarrasment it was positively cringe- making having her open school fetes and do prize givings etc. But I spent my life in dressing rooms and fleet street offices before following my father in a successful journalistic career. The family moved to Paris in 1960,where I went to university, and mum and Ren once did their act in the local bistro on the ile st louis in Franglais! oh for a camera :)!
my Aunt,Renee Houston, always said she enjoyed this scene more than any she played in the 100 odd films in which she appeared. She and Lilli were actually very good friends, but both had tempers exactly like this in real life.

@moiAntonin WOW, what an aunt to have! First discovered her in 2000 Women and was blown away by her comedic talent. An underrated star.

Afraid not, it's Britain's own Margaret Lockwood (The Lady Vanishes, The Wicked Lady).
