You know why this record never topped the charts? Because Joe Perry wrote, sang and played guitar on this album. Joe isn't much of a singer, can't write to save is life and is only a half-assed guitar player. Without the song writers and session musiciansas used on Aerosmith albums, Perry is merely an entertainer. A Showman at best. He looks kinda cool though, huh?

I have to say, i got Joe's new album free with classic rock magazine and it's not a bad little record. Wasn't really expecting much which is no disrespect to Joe's other solo records, but this was really pleasantly surprising

It's funny, he says that a lot of these songs he just doesn't see Aerosmith doing but when I picked up the Cd my overwhelming impression was that 90 percent of it would have fit right in on Rocks or Toys.

Of course follow Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" very well. lol

I saw them last night at Irving Plaza. They were tight. Really good show, and for those of you who question Hagen and his chops, Give it up. The man kicks ass live. He took a step back for Steven Tyler when he came out, and rightfully so. Give him his due. He is a much better vocalist than the four other lead vocalists that have performed with the Joe Perry Project.

Seriously, Joes past efforts were great, but that was nearly 30 years ago. He has grown so much as a writer and performer since JPP first came into existance. He is a great vocalist, but he does not have the chops to sing an entire set each night. He will tell you that himself. He cannot sing a lot of the Aerosmith songs that people want to hear. Hagen is a very good singer. He's no Steven Tyler, but who could top Steven? Joe is trying to give his fans the most for their money.
