  • Hey man, I need help!

I am getting a S34C tomorrow, brand new, and I was wondering is if I remove the pick guard, will there be a dark/light tan line since its brand new?

    Please respond!!!!

  • Great video. I'm a beginner guitar player and I'm trying to decide between this Jasmine and the Epiphone DR-100, but I'm wondering if this Jasmine is a solid top or a "select Spruce" (laminate) top like the Epiphone? Also, what do you think of the NEX style? Thanks.

  • @ojibwayinca I love the NEX style as you can see in this video. The Jasmine is not a solid top... but no entry-level guitar will be. If you are a beginer, there is no way you will be able to tell the difference. It takes an aged ear to notice a solid top from a laminate. So no worrys. Get the guitar and play, man!

  • @eternalrhythmflow Thanks!

  • I just got mine a month ago and i LOVE it! What did u do to lower the action. Mine is a bit high

  • @guysanzo Well, I bought that dvd I show in this video that shows how to do a setup. I don't recommend playing with the truss rod without knowing what you're doing. The instruction is clear and quite easy to follow and it is great knowledge to have for understanding and caring for your instrument for a lifetime.

  • Hey man looks great. I have one one the way to my house. Can you tell me how you take the pick guard off in detail please? is there any adhesive that will be left on the wood?

  • @guysanzo Thanks! The pick guard came off very easily and left no glue. It's more of a sticker I think.

  • Very cool. I am getting my first guitar for my birthday and I have decided to get this one because I dont want to spend too much money and disappoint my parents. Thanks for the awesome review ! I loved this..

  • Just one questions why is the $100 guitar on a stand and the $1000 guitar on the floor

  • @robbie4629 Thumbs up for that observation. You're absolutey right to ask that. I guess I was thinking that since the video was about the Jasmine that I might be picking it up and setting it down a few times. The Takamine was to just hang out where it was leaning. Funny though. Thanks for the laugh!

  • @eternalrhythmflow

Cool video! Good stuff. What song are you playing in your install video on the JJB pick-up site? Good song. Didi you write it? Can you direct me to lyrics and chords? Thanks for sharing the word. I wish more people did!

  • @Bltprf502 Thank you! That is a Kari Jobe song that I covered. I brought the vocals down and the guitars up for the JJB wesite video. The true mix of my cover is here.

lyrics and chords would be found if you look up Kari Jobe – I’m Singing

    God bless!

  • Very cool and informative! Did you have to file the nut slots at all? I tried the Gibson(not the GibsonXL correct?) and the slots did not seem to be low enough. I messed it up trying to fix it without nut files, but will try again later on. Also did your kit use the full comp 1/8" saddle, did yo have to work on it any? I do have a problem with some buzz and dead notes on the high E from the 10-15 fret. I may get that DVD or take it to a shop.

    Thanks!!!

  • @chickenfoot90210 Just Gibson, yes. Thanks! And thankfully, I did not have to file the nut slots. The strings sit in there perfectly right from the factory and the Tusq material is self lubricating. However I did use a little GHS Graphit ALL lube just in case ;)

I did sand down the UNDERSIDE of the nut to lower the action though. Before I put a drop of superglue on the nut and set it in, I strung it up and checked the hieght then I gently sanded down the nut until it was where I liked it.

  • Thanks for this helpful (inspirational) video! I bought the same guitar for $85 and installed a PPS-200 with self solder endpin jack. I was able to tighten the endpin without any special tools (It was tricky). Got the nut started by reaching in, and did the final tightening from the outside, holding the nut in place with needlenose pliers on the inside. Anyway, the guitar for the money sounds amazing.

  • @jaxunable Hey, you're welcome! Thank you for saying hello! I'm impressed that you got the end pin jack in without the wrench. You would have laughed as I took pastry tongs and tried to grab the nut from the inside with my video camera in the guitar while plugged into the tv live pointed at the nut with a flashlight. My arm deep in the guitar as I'm starring at my tv trying to manuver the tongs to no avail. Finally broke down and bought the tool. Now it ain't coming loose for anything. Peace!

  • Thanks for the video, I just placed an order for my "Jasmine" as I will affectionately call her and I'm excited when she arrives. I was torn between the S35 or this one, but many people kept saying cutaway is the way to go, plus dreadnaught did seem bigger to me and more cumbersome. Do you have any suggestions on setting it up properly when getting it, to make it sound the best. I'll eventually take it to a shop to get the action lowered and stuff but I want to start playing immediately.

  • @outdoormedic Thanks for the comment and questions! I trust you'll love your Jasmine. It's fantastic for the $, especially if you put a little love into it. The first thing I recommend is putting on GOOD strings. I have Martin lifespan SP 13's on and they are unreal! I had to lower the action and take out relief by tightening the truss rod because 13's have higher tension but the volume and tone really increase. If you're savvy, get the DVD I recommended. It really helps to know how to set it up

  • Thats what i need, i,m in love of that guitar, tkahs for that video. Bless.

  • @cedro07 Thanks for watching Cedro.

  • Scott would this guitar be good for a total newbie with small hands? Thanks

  • @123gonesurfing It is definately marketed towards a beginner who may not want to spend much on a new hobby and for what it is, it is one of the best values for price/qualiaty. However, it is a full scale guitar. If you think you will stick with guitar playing I would say to use a full scale guitar because you will need to create muscle memory in your hands and the stretching and strengthening of your left hand is inevitable. I suggest trying one out at a store to see if it is comfortable.
