I'm very disappointed that he was on Jay Lenno and made a disabled joke. It is even worse than if Bush did it. He isn't just a president - he is being shown as an example of the success of the civil rights movement (perpetuated by his books called the audacity of hope and the dreams of my fathers - which make direct links / comparisons to Martin Luthor King). To make jokes like that shows himself up and diminishes the part disabled people played in the CR movement.
I wouldn't really think that's why they are mad so much as they are mad because Liberals & Democrats acted like he didn't make mistakes like this....& then when he does, they totally brush it off & pretend it was just a small joke that didn't hurt anyone.

Thank you for your opinion. Over-reaction, it is not. When people joke about things like this, it reflects their lack of sensitivity. Of all people, the President should not be playing the celebrity show circuit and running his mouth in public forums. He needs to be Presidential and focus on his task at hand. This was bound to happen in a non-leadership environment. I know that people with special needs will let him know how they feel about this and let this serve as a moment to teach others.
