i live dwn the road in edwinstowe and they find things in the veteran oaks all the time like gold and jewelry its great

Very difficult to tell the true age of these oaks because the center rots away leaving a hollow. You can't read the rings with a core sample.

The legend actually says that Robin Hood would hide the riches he stole in the hollows of veteran oaks.
