  • Hello , Could you share with us you're wonderful HD wallpaper please i like it :)

  • @MrAntec900 you are an idiot. Knw what your talking about before you open that gapping hole you think smart things fall out of.

  • And updates are not bad if you get hardware that plays nice. Most I have to do is rerun AppleHDA.kext rollback after updates. I'm also running a full working OS X Mountain Lion DP1

  • @MrAntec900 yes, you can. I have made plenty of atom hackintoshes.

  • @nandor690 they can't handle the processes, so i doubt you have an hacked atom. send me a screen shot then of the system settings on OSX saying you have an atom processor

  • dont you troll me there is no annotation.

  • ive never had a kernel panic on my macbook

  • I would not use Garage Band as a standard like you did, there is applications on windows that are just as good even better.

  • hey u look like Michael Phelps !

  • and you can upgrage an imac hdd

  • @nesordie It's a pain, though.

  • actually im hackintoshing on an atom right now

  • i just wish everyone would understand that you are not paying for the mac operating system, you are paying for the technology used inside the macs and the quality parts inside and out. windows pc's and laptops are made out of crappy plastic but i can throw my mac book against a brick wall and still use it fine.

  • @MrAntec900 Check out my "Hackintosh From Start to Finish" series. I mention exactly that.

  • @MrAntec900 You are paying for the name. The parts inside an iMac are the exact same parts from the same Taiwan company as that of a PC.

  • @MrAntec900 yes i am planning to throw my brand new mbp at my wall cus its fun.

the technology inside any mac for its price is overpriced. if anything, you are paying for the OS because everything else is not worth its price, os x is a great os. its been said over and over again if you spend 4999.95 on the 2.66 ghz 12 core mac pro, you can build a pc 20X better then that mac.

  • @bebeoploki coming from someone who isnt an IT you probably know nothing. my PC has 32gb of memory with an 8-core processor and 4gb of video memory and the only thing it does faster is renders a DVD. mac is way ahead of windows and is built way more carefully than any windows operating system ever created. you my friend have no idea what you are talking about.

  • @MrAntec900 yeah read what I said moron. If there's anything superior on a mac its the OS. hardware wise its overpriced brotoss.

  • @bebeoploki actually its not just the OS. your looking at the quality of materials used, like the aluminum uni body of the mac books and towers. the logic board is far more advanced than a windows motherboard. know your facts, you probably don't even own a mac so you can say anything bad about them.

  • @MrAntec900 can i see a video of you doing this?

  • @MrAntec900 lmao, a mac is constructed of the same hardware a pc uses idiot. mac just uses a aluminum frame that works as a heat sink sitting in ur lap melting ur clothes off.

  • Is it more stayable than running Windows 7 in the same machine ?

  • @wieheissichnochma As long as you know what you're doing and you are careful when updating, then yes, it's just as stable as a Windows 7 machine, if not more stable. This also heavily depends on your hardware.

  • @cpukid00 Allow me to intervene.. you said "careful" when you update? What would you mean by this? Im running a hackintosh now on my stock Acer Aspire. Could I hurt my system by updating my OSX? Btw, great video and awesome machine. Hope to build a custom PC someday.

  • @MontageReflex Check out my latest video in my "Hackintosh From Start to Finish" series about updating.

  • Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8

  • Hey man do u think this is worth it...I'm gonna buy from a friend n this is the info he snd me from his hackintosh.... 1.6 Intel Atom 330 Dual-Core 4threads 1Gb DRR2 800 120GB HD GMA 950 ( DVI,VGA) Airport

  • @jdmLA213 It depends on your needs. That system isn't very powerful, but if you don't need a powerful system then it might be a decent alternative. Check out the TonyMac forums to do some more research on the hardware.

  • @jmdLA213 cpukid doesn't know what he is talking about, you can't run osx on an atom processor.

  • @MrAntec900 That's why I suggested he does his research. You're right, I don't know anything about the atom processors. I didn't claim to.

  • Fantastic video mate, earned yourself a like and a sub.

I've install Mac OS X 10.6.6i before on my older rig but now I'm planning on building a newer one. I have a few questions, I have 16GB RAM, MSI GTX 560 TI, Asus P8Z68 V-PRO GEN 3 Motherboard and a i7 2600k. You think I could run OSX on that config? I haven't installed MAC OS X is a long time. I know I'll need to remove 12GB of my RAM and change a few bios settings, but is their any other specific Kext's I would need? Thanks for your time.

  • @PriDzn Thanks for the like and the subscription! Your system seems like it would run OS X just fine. It's definitely worth a shot. You actually won't need to remove any ram. I've always installed OS X with all 12GB of memory inserted. It's not a problem. You may need kexts for your video card, but I'm not sure. I've never used that card.

  • @cpukid00 A good video converter is Handbrake. I use it for all of my conversions :) just Google it

  • Would you recommend this for After Effects, Photoshop, HD video editing and Pro Tools?

  • @FEEVA203 Absolutely. All of these apps run great.

  • Did this with a msi wind and it worked great! Then I bought a mac because I work full time in video production. Great for learning how to use it. Hackintosh

  • @Lil2Ghost so do you actually have to modify your computer, or can you just like download it or something?

  • do you use normal key board or apple keyboard

  • 2 questions: 1. is it easy to do this? and 2. can i swich back if i wanted to?

  • @whatbeup9263 u can dual boot,so when ur pc starts up can start windows or mac os

  • I didn't realize this could be done until today. I've been dying to get a good system for my video editing in final cut and after effects (and now cinema 4d) , and now it doesn't make any sense to buy a mac pro or even a macbook pro (which i have now, but the video card is lacking). Plus i'll save so money! AH!

  • Is there any problem with building a hackintosh in a system with z68 motherboard from asus. Their z68 motherboard does not have bios but has eufi. I don't know if that is why i am having problems installing mac os on my system. everything else is compatible with mac. like i5 2500k and gtx 560 ti

  • @brlknmz I know there are working z68 systems. Check the TonyMac DSDT database and see if your board is listed. Also, be sure to check your settings on the motherboard and ensure that you're using the correct bootloader. Check out my Hackintosh From Start to Finish series for a complete tutorial.

  • ASUS motherboards are the easiest and best to build hackintosh's! 99% of it works as a 100% Macintosh mac pro even better!.... I just finished converting an HP Pavilion a6220n gay ass desktop into a 99% full functional hackintosh with mostly all stock parts that where already in it... Lion 10.7.2 baby! "Once you go Mac, you kick Windows in the sack!"

  • hey, do you know if it works in amd processor and the integrated video card?

thnx, srry for the bad english.

  • @sebasvelasco353 Yes and no.... Lion on an AMD will work with lots of work and hours making it boot up and making hardware work. You will need to use a distro version for non-Intel cpu's. Nothing beats native OS X installation than a distro version that comes with bugs and imperfections. Just updates to a cheap Asus motherboard and an Intel Core 2 Duo at least... Lion works great on Duo Core Pentium laptops... the OS sees the Pentium CPU as a Core 2 Duo... just to let you know...

  • @LALOMAN18 lolwut. Where is this AMD-friendly Lion distro, because I don't know what you're talking about.

  • Great Video, perfect for laying out the reasons for and against going down the route of building a hackintosh.

  • hey, i was wondering if I change the processor from an i3 to an i5. Would i have to reinstall hackintosh or do anything?

  • @dnguyen963 You may need to re-install OS X, but I'm not really sure. I've never done this before, so it's a 50/50 chance that you'd have to restore.

  • @cpukid00 I would have thought seeing as the Architecture of the CPU's is pretty much the same OSX would be fine with you doing an upgrade of the CPU possibly without having to touch OSX.

  • Is it worth just going with the compatible motherboards on kakewalk? Like for simplicities sake? Thank you.

  • @thecousin Check out my new hackintosh series on my YouTube channel. I recommend watching the entire series, however the answer you're looking for is in part two.

  • @cpukid00 Thanks for the quick reply, will check it out.

  • @ 6:57, Holy shit 1775.00 for 16 gb ram???

  • please email me if you are available to 'build' one of these (or something similar) for me. Plenty compensation for you as well. Cheers.

  • @rntonp I'll message you regarding building you a system.

  • I'm very impressed with your knowledge base, your presentation skills, ability to explain without rambling, uhh, err,. uhh, "like" "you know" and all the other sometimes annoying habits many people have. Your explanation is fast, easily understandable, relevant, and very helpful. Thanks. You would be good at live presentations, demonstrations, etc.

  • @rntonp Thank you very much, I appreciate the kind words. I'm glad you found the video helpful. Thanks for watching!

  • Ok, I really dont wont to spend money on building a hackintosh. I just wont to install the mac on my laptop and download the files off of multibeast. Will everything work smooth like a mac.

  • @CreativeFXX I highly doubt it. I don't recommend doing this to laptops, as you can't change any of the hardware. You'd have to research the laptop and what hardware is in it. From there, you could research the compatibility of that hardware with Mac OS X.

  • Sorry for that it was two questions? I'am saying that When starting the installation with the mac, then install the multibeast files. That everything would work normal similar to a mac. The second question is how could you screen record on your hackintosh?

  • @CreativeFXX Check out part 4 of my newest series for a complete tutorial. As far as screen captures like this video, I used ScreenFlow, which works great!

  • One question. Do you think if i just use a bootloader and mac os x snow leopard disc, and download the multibeast fix files. That aleast my hacintosh will aleast work well as a mac. I really wont to know how the hell u could record on hacintosh.

  • @CreativeFXX I'm not sure I understand your question. Could you rephrase?

  • Check out my i7 4.5 ghz quadcore Mac OSX Lion Hackintosh If anyone interested in buying it comes ready with

mac osx lion and windows 7 go to my channel for the link!!!

  • I have a friend who thinks Hackintosh is a program that lets you install os x :)

  • How much did this hackintosh cost you, its a fucking beast! I want to build the exact same!!!!!!!

  • @ThaFooooosa

It costed him around $1200 as he said in another vid.

However, that was a while ago.

Due to depreciation, today, I estimate that it may cost around 900-1000.

    And yes, its badass!

  • all i can say is mac is fail. windows ftw <3

  • doodoo

  • @CPUKid: First: Mac Amateur = priceless

Second: I'm in high school, and I use my dad's PC (which would never keep up with OS X, hardware compatibility aside) so I can't do a hack yet. I will be getting a MacBook Pro when I go to college, but I might do this for a desktop.

My question is this: If you weren't doing this video editing, and you already had a MacBook Pro, would you bother with the Hackintosh?

  • @1395spike I'd say yes, simply because it was a great learning experience for me and I like to tinker with computers. It's also a very "future-proof" system.

  • I think the only thing making it unstable is clocking the hell out of like you do. Stock CPU speed and it would probably never lock up.

  • @utp216 It will run perfectly fine if you get your voltages right. I've been running stable at 3.5 GHz for quite some time now.

  • hahaha the only software that u wont get on windows is final cut... but have u herd about Adobe premier, Avid, and the list goes on.apart from the "virus" problem (which i never went through over my 13years of pc usage), what makes OS X worth the money over windows 7.if u ask me windows 7 over OS X Lion.. i would still prefer Win7. i was also blind folded like other and though OS X is way better that win7.after running a hankintosh i can to know how non intuitive this OS X compared to win7.

  • @cpukid00 Hey, this looks cool. What distro of OSx86 did you use? Or did you use an actual Lion CD with a bootloader? I have iATKOS L2 downloaded, is this what you are using?

  • @iTech278 I don't use distro's. I used a real copy of Lion from the Mac App Store. This video was before Lion, in which I used a real Snow Leopard DVD purchased from Apple.

  • @cpukid00

Distros are bullshit. Don't you agree?

  • I don't have issues with windows 7, the only time I reboot or shut down is when the power goes down and it works perfectly in between, and most games and applications are made for PC and since my first and last iPhone I will never use an Apple product again. Everything you say you like about this Hackintosh spins around Final Cut. If you had any problems with Windows is because you don't know how to use it properly, always remember the problem is between the chair and the screen.

  • @deliquenme My problems with Windows go much farther than video editing programs. I just got sick of virus scans, clunky installations, tons of bugs, serial keys and activation, and the list goes on. I don't have to worry about any of that with OS X. If Windows fits your needs, then that's great. However, personally, I don't see myself every going back. OS X fits my needs much better than Windows ever will.

  • @cpukid00 But you do have to worry about security, its the most unsecured OS on the market. I like OS X but seeing how its the easiest to hack, and can be done in 30 seconds, i am steered away. This is what i use mine for; Apple for Multimedia, Linux for software development, Windows for my server and main desktop boot.

Windows 7 fresh install is actually fast and secure. It will slow down if you install an anti-virus program, but i never have. Been running 2 years and not one virus.

  • @johnthegr8 A lot of people say that OS X is insecure, but I feel it's the complete opposite. Yes, people have gained access to OS X, but none of these intrusions do anything. If OS X was so vulnerable, then everybody on a Mac would be getting their files and/or information stolen daily. The same is true for viruses. I have yet to even hear of a bad virus for OS X that causes kernel panics, sluggishness, etc. These happen on Windows, but not on OS X.

  • @cpukid00 Oh, well i wasn't just saying it is insecure, its actually proven. They hold competitions every year, i think there is usually a $10,000 to $20,000 prize if you can hack any of the three the fastest. The one that always is the fastest is OS X, the "hackers" don't even look at the others cause its a known fact going into the competition.

It's a great OS that's just its only downside.

  • @johnthegr8 I'm not saying you're wrong that it can be "hacked" the fastest. All I'm saying is that nothing is ever done by these intrusions that's truly malicious. There hasn't been a single "virus" released on the internet that can destroy your OS X installation.

  • @johnthegr8 Those "hacks" are known before hand and you have physical access to the machine, you're logged in and know the admin password. They literally go to a website with the code that uses the exploit (that nobody else knows about and that they've been working on hacking for months before the contest) then give it root access to run by entering the password. That isn't hacking, that's a user allowing (on purpose) nasty code to run on their machine. In short, it's kind of staged.

  • @johnthegr8 I figured id add my favorite out of all of them is indeed Linux. Not to be "that Linux guy" but i used to hate it a lot. Once i sat down and started using it daily..WOW was i amazed. Its very light weight, secure, and i can customize anything i can dream of.

I'm the head software engineer for my colleges Formula car team. It came time to put an on board computer on, tested tons of OS's for the job, really eye opening when testing them all side by side. We went with a Windows RTOS.

  • @johnthegr8 use vault mode and you'll have a very secure os on osx

  • @deliquenme That's an extremely ignorant comment. Windows is quite poorly designed, it's full of UI paradigms from it's early days with 3.0 all the way up to the present. There's usually far too many steps involved in something that should be achievable in 2-3, the way it handles multi-tasking is also quite poor. Also, Windows has more software yes, but the vast majority of it is pure junk. Most software for the Mac is of much higher quality and better designed and generally more capable.

  • everytime you show the apple website i see "see education pricing"

  • In the 5 years I've been using apple computers I've only had 2 kernel panics ,and they were caused by flash in google chrome which is a well known issue.

  • what is your benchmark on the hackintosh?

  • @dnguyen963 I get around 12,000 in GeekBench.

  • "Nothing like this on Windows" ugh...fucking ignorant. Don't get me wrong I use a Mac myself, but that statement pisses me off. Ever heard of Premiere, Avid, Vegas, and etc.

  • @iLightningBolt When I said that, I didn't mean video editors specifically; I meant the quality of OS X software as a whole. Final Cut is made by the same company that makes the computer, so you know it's going to work great. There's nothing like that for Windows, as MS doesn't make video editors, other than Movie Maker. What I meant to say was that the quality of the apps as a whole is superior to that of Windows, at least in my opinion.

  • Hackintosh > Macintosh

  • @wiigamer136 Only in terms of price. I'd rather have a legit Mac any day. However, I need power for my videos and other tasks, which I can't afford with a legit Mac. Macs are worth their price, but I simply can't afford them at this point in my life. After college will be a different story.

  • @cpukid00

Plus, you can't upgrade! I am in high school and I will stick with my hackintosh!

Anyways, why would you take a legit mac over a hackintosh if you had the money. (Just curious)

  • Comment removed

  • i7 has better performance than the Xeon.

  • how hard was it to build and did you use a cracked version of osx 10

  • Can you do a system update without any worries?

  • @happythec1am I wouldn't say without worries. Usually, I'll lose audio when updating to a new OS version. It's a simply fix, but it's always kind of a gamble.

  • @cpukid00

The mac mini sucks. I could build a hackintosh with similar specs for around $200 to $250

  • @wiigamer136 The Mac Mini isn't a bad machine, it's just not geared towards everyone. People like you and me need more from a machine. However, for people that just need a reliable desktop and don't want the hassle of building a supporting a computer, it's a fantastic machine.

  • @cpukid00

True, it is a great media center computer that is small. That said, apple should give an option to have a blu-ray disk reader on the mac mini.

  • @wiigamer136 Offering BluRay options means they have to license it, and the terms are pretty strict and very anti-consumer (go look them up). Not even Windows has BluRay playback built in, you have to use 3rd party software that adds the codecs, much like it used to be with DVD (and still is unless you use Media Centre, but you're paying for the license with versions that ship with WMC). Adding BluRay spec compliance would involve a heavy re-write of the media playback stack in OSX. Not worth it

  • @wiigamer136 Plus, if you want BluRay on a Mac, just buy the drive after market.

  • @TalesOfWar

    Or use a cheap Blu-ray player :)

  • @wiigamer136 I call BS. prove it give me a product list with links and prices.

  • any one, can I dual boot windows 7 and hackintosh or mac os x or ideneb, any thing mac on my acer aspire 7535g?

^ if so, would there be drivers for wifi and that?

  • windows 98 you must be kidding me??? :))) do you think there are any people installing 98 except you?

  • Thank for the video

Firstly, do you find it is stable as an overall system? I am basically torn between getting a macbook pro or building a much more powerful desktop hackintosh for video editing. I'm not mobile and usually use the pc at home. What would you recommend? I would also love to attach my hackintosh to a cinema display but they dont sell them anymore... :(

Secondly, day of the tentacle is awesome! You can play it on a mac via scumm without having to deal with lousy win98 :)

  • @abuabdillah333 My system is very stable. It's been running rock solid for over a year now! My primary use for the machine is video editing as well, and it kills anything I throw at it. Whether or not to get a MacBook or build a system depends on your budget and your wants/needs. If you need more power and know a thing or two about computers, then a hackintosh might be the way to go.

  • @cpukid00 Thanks for the reply. I've played around with hackintoshes a few times, first with my eee pc 1000h, then with my msi amd pc which gave alot of issues of compatibility. My budget would be about 1500$, since I'm at my desk, I figure I'd rather build a super desktop that can also double for games, then just a macbook pro. I'll prob wait thought until thunderbolt becomes maintream as I want to combo my hackintosh with a apple display.

  • @abuabdillah333 My plan is to use an htpc case attached to the tv for my gaming setup, then use an extension cord to attach to the apple monitor at my desk to keep the sleek look of a mac as well. I thank you again for the advice, my main fear was overall stability. I suppose the only prob is when updating the os I should be careful.

  • @abuabdillah333 Also to note (sorry for going on so long) that apple customer care and service is irrelevant as I don't have either in my country to begin with.

  • Hey. Can you please reply to me or message me the links and/or names of the components you used. If been doing so research but will like to know what u went for since u seem pretty pleased.

(ex. Motherboard, processor, graphic card, RAM, SATA, cooling fan...) funny, I use to nottingham know any of these nor its functions.

  • Use Handbrake, its probably the best video converter out their. Nice video, I can't wait to build mine.

  • @electrotech555 iVI is pretty damn good too. It's free on the Mac App Store. It converts everything I've thrown at it so far, though I tend to use Adobe Media Encoder more often as you get far greater control over the output. Having said that, Media Encoder is far more strict when it comes to what it converts, it expects commercial formats rather than say MKV for example (which I rarely have anyway).

  • While I appreciate what you're trying to do here, this video could have been SO much shorter. Direct and to-the-point goes a long way. Thanks, though. Good job.

  • @Toropop The video could have been shorter, but I would have missed out on a lot of important details. I feel that's where a lot of videos go wrong. While the video is long, it's because it's full of good information, not just pointless rambling.

  • Hey im on toneymacx86, im putting together a set according to their list of hardware thats compatible, do you think i will be fine with a intel core i7-950 3.06ghz, vs the i7-2600, do you think it matters, the 950 one ses bloomfield, and the other is sandy bridge, i have no idea what those mean, THANKS in advance for any help, all other gear i have lined up is according to what they say, just wondering if i can get the i7-950 instead of i7-2600

  • @TheBlackOperations It all depends on the motherboard. If you get a socket 1366 motherboard, then a sandy bridge CPU won't work, and vice versa. You have to do your research and make sure that all your hardware will work together.

  • I switched from PC to Mac in June of 2011 and I absolutely love it. I still have my hardcore gaming PC for playing my games but as far as general everyday use from web browsing to Photoshop/Illustrator work my Macs, in my opinion, win hands down. Lion is absolutely fantastic for heavy multitasking. Don't ever listen to people who tell you that Macs suck because I can almost guarantee that they have never owned one because I've never met a Mac owner who was disappointed. 4Life

  • @TheMasterofganja Apple for Life? Really? How? I mean, i have 3 Macs (2011 Macbook Pro and Mac Mini and 2008 Macbook), i really can't find anything that is so much better than Windows. I still find LOTS of program i really want won't run under Mac OS X, and i still use Windows much more than Mac OS X. Mac don't suck, they are not that advanced either.

  • Your vid was very well done and very informative. Thanks for that.

I plan to turn my HP Pav. dv6000 into a hachintoch. For a few reasons. First, things have stopped working with the machine. DVD/CD will not recognize any disk I have burned. Plays only Hollyweird produced DVD's now. And the webcam will not work. Both are as a result of Windows 7 updates and HP will no longer support the software. I would have to hack the hell out of this HP to get it right again. So I am going OSX with it.

  • It's actually interesting how this brief outline turned into a disscussion about mobile OS's and mobile applications :) IMHO it all comes down to whether you prefer fragmentation or integration (regardless of closed/open philosophies), there is an ongoing struggle between both tendencies and the reason it hasn't been settled it's because they offer pros and cons that suit each person distinctively, plus there is an aggressive market specially on mobile devices.

  • @TheAppleAardvark Sanders what happened to porn is bad?

  • Well said and produced. Keep it up.

  • Yes worth it

  • cpukid00, regardless I would say your Hackintosh is a great success! Only difference between yours and a store-bought Mac is the way the hardware is setup and the DEFAULT OS on it. I myself understand if you'd want a Mac. But if you ask me, a PC running Mac OS X is still great compared to the REAL thing.

  • lol @ "look at that aluminum case, that is so prefessional" apple sure knows how to market their "pc" to consumers like you. you do know dell made computers without wiring for business companies waay before apple did. their mistake was they never put that pc in a aluminum cae like apple to attract people like you. ofcourse your pc is not apple engineering. it was built by you. you created what an apple really is. A PC with their OS! duh!

  • @dajewboi I'm not seeing you're point at all regarding "people like me" wanting it. What's wrong with wanting an aluminum case with minimal wires? It's a beautiful design and functions very well. Apple isn't a PC with OS X on it, that's a hackintosh. Mac's have specifically chosen hardware that is meant to work perfectly together. That's why customer satisfaction scores are through the roof, unlike any PC maker.

  • @dajewboi Oh good god.... This is CPUKid's opinion suck it up pal! I agree with him. Dell may well have sorted out the Wires and made things look clean a long time ago but thats not the point. CPUKid is referring to how Quality Apple Products are in general. FYI I sold my 2011 iMac i5 and ive built an i7 Hackintosh with Lion.... runs better than my iMac did!

  • I'd just put DOS 7.11 on it with the same hardware. Those crazy Chinese even added USB support. Now THAT makes for a fast machine with good games.

  • You have good cpu that is why your mashine is fast.

  • @djordjepejakovic82 While that's true, not everything comes down to that. Software optimization plays a huge roll in how fast a computer performs. This is why the iPhone 4S is the fastest smartphone right now, even though it's not running the fastest processor. The same goes for desktops.

  • @cpukid00 hey iphone fanboy! don't make false claim iphone is the fastest optimized phone in the world even steve jobs released the iphone 4s dual-core Cortex-A9 CPU because he admitted the iphone had problems running 3 apps at the same time. motorola photon outperformed the 4s in speed and optimization. and it runs 7 apps at the same time. hope you liek your siri..stolen intellectual property of google!lol

  • @dajewboi My 4S multi-tasks great. Android and iOS do it differently, but i prefer the way iOS does it. It saves battery life, plus why would you want two things running when you can only use one at a time? From a quick Google search, the Photon doesn't do to well next to the other phones. Plus, speed isn't everything. Reliability plays a huge factor. When I pick up my iPhone, I know it's gonna work. I don't feel that way when I use Android. Every phone is different, despite running the same OS.

  • Why not just use Windows? Or if you really want a UNIX based OS, use Linux

  • @Misteryman94 Windows feels clunky to me, and the apps are nowhere near as good as OS X apps are, at least in my opinion. Linux doesn't have the apps that OS X does, such as Final Cut. OS X also has great gestures and other features that have spoiled me.

  • @cpukid00 really? great apps. if you call only cornering 30% of app developers compared to windows. in the end. windows is still prefered software to use residentialand commercially. the reason apple only succeed is it steals apps homebrew developers create stamping it their idea. apple is not open source.

  • @dajewboi Who cares about how many app developers there are? Quality is far greater than quantity. Look at the Mac App Store. Apple is gaining more developers every single day, and the apps in the App Store are very polished apps, unlike the clunky windows software that you have to download from a third party. Apple doesn't steal anything. It doesn't matter if they're open source or not. At the end of the day, it's an OS with amazing apps and gives me a great user experience.

  • @cpukid00 Actually.... there are tons of apps that are just polished crap, that shit makes no difference. Thats cool you have a great user experience because of the amazing third party apps, but PC has those same apps too. Apple did steal a lot of stuff too but no one gives a shit. Be happy with what you got and stop trolling your opinion as facts like they can change the world.

  • @resuort I have yet to see an app that's "polished crap", especially from the App Store. PC's don't have the same apps that OS X does. It's like Android Market and the App Store. There are apps that do basically the same thing, but the iOS apps are just smoother and are more user friendly. This is a better experience. I am happy with what I have; that's why I use it and produce content about it. I never say my opinions are facts. The ones that are crazy enough to change the world do.

  • hi, i already installed mac os x on my netbook and i love it. I am planning on building a hackintosh soon, but I am doing my research. I already have a dual core pentium d rig, but the motherboard and processor arent supported. I am upgrading my motherboard (its gonna be a lga 775 micro atx board) and I will still be using me original gpu (9500 GT). I was considering the Gigabyte G41MT-S2P. Do you think this will run lion well? (I am going to be doing the retail and multibeast method) Thanks.

  • great vid man, i just installed iATKOS S3 10.6.3 to my Toshiba Satellite L500, most of the drivers work besides the wifi

  • erm hey dude, would you mind giving me your email or something nice vid, but i would like some help

  • hi mate, Great vid, just got a 24" iMac but looking to convert my acer 5935g to a hackintosh. Just wanted to ask what the app is that makes your icons on your dock raise when you hover your mouse over them ?? many thanks.

  • @SootyHunt It's not an app, it's a preference. Go to System Preferences, then click Dock, then turn magnification on.

  • Lion makes it super easy....

  • @ChrisCDXX Yeah, Lion is even better than Snow Leopard was!

  • I have to disagree with what you said about the weekly blue screens from the PC. I believe hackintosh is just like anything; you get out of it what you put into it. Several years ago I started buying only genuine intel chips and ASUS motherboards and I haven't seen a blue-screen in several years thru Win XP, Vista and 7. I can't remember the last time it crashed. And while my Apple Mac Pro hasn't paniced, FCPro has crashed on my more than once in the last year.

  • @Robert08010 When I said that, it was more of a generalization towards Windows. By blue screens, I didn't mean just that specifically, I meant issues in general. Some people go years without a blue screen, but others can't go a month. It all depends on the hardware. When I said that, it was just something people can relate to. Personally, I've had it with Windows issues and performance. It's just sluggish next to OS X. I really don't see myself going back to Windows.

  • @cpukid00 I also have to disagree. Of course I don't get many problems on windows 7 let alone a blue screen, but I find (in my opinion) that OSX is a bit sluggish. I just don't have any problems with windows (maybe its because i use professional and ultimate?) because everything is always ready to go. I guess it really doesn't matter in the end because it comes down to which OS you are most comfortable with.

  • You have one kick ass system. I have installed Macintosh on my PC. It was a 10.5.8 Leopard on a Pentium 4 3Ghz HT, 1GB RAM 80 GB HDD and Nvidia GeForce 5500 FX Graphics Card and it was smooth. I did have some issues with the kernel panics. Most of them related to the network card. But that hackintosh was a resource eater. Mac on a P4 is definitely not recommended unless you have a good cooling system and a system which supports hyper threading.

    Nice Video :)

  • Hey! I use those Icons on my Servers HD's :)

  • Hi, I'm running a hackintosh since 2007, I've upgraded to snow leopard a few months ago from Tiger. I use it to do photoshop and garageband. It has a integrated graphics GMA 950 and a Pentium D. I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card to a dedicated one. Do you know any compatible cards??

  • How do you get that "Picture in Picture" feature?? Recording your webcam as well as the screen??

  • @wdrpsp19 I think he recorded them separately , then combined them when he was finished, then uploaded it up to youtube.

  • @grogtgs @wdrpsp19 I used screen flow. It records the screen and the webcam simultaneously.

  • I own an MSI S6000 Specs : Intel Core i5-450M, VGA : Intel GMA HD, LED Panel, Ram : DDR3 2GB*2, HDD : 500GB can i install this on here or no Please help ive been trying for a year now i dont wanna mess anything up can you help

  • @ConcreteJungleFilmz The specs sound good, however you need to do your research on your hardware. Check out the TonyMac forums.
