  • Panzer Dragoon music and sound effects?

  • While the controls were awkward, Gunvalkyrie is still one of the best games ever. So good.

  • gooooood game

  • It was looking so good, man, why there isn't a Beta of this game out there?

If back then, people bought more Dreamcast's i'm sure Sega would still be kicking ass today with a Dreamcast 3 and we would be for sure in a new Generation of consoles... Man, i miss Sega, i miss theyre glorious Sonic Adventure's, Shenmue... Man, Sega used to be so epic and revolutionary...

I like them now, but still, i miss those days... No, not only that, i miss they're consoles and they're attitude, they were bests,

  • @dinizgames It looks good because I believe this was already running on the xbox.As a matter of fact I suspect that the video on the side bar called gunvalkyrie dreamcast(gen16.com) is closer to what the dreamcast version would have actually played like.Even though that trailer came b4 this one, its also running on the xbox.Only know footage of gv running on the d.c. is from ects 2000.

  • @accel99, I don't tink this trailer was the XBox version, i've watched that video on the side bar, and it looked similar to this, the shadows, the lightning and the texturing, so i believe this was the Dreamcast version,

Don't underestimate Dreamcast's graphical capabilities, the fact that it was the first of its gen, does not mean its the weakest, and games like Test Drive Le Mans and Shenmue for example prof that, so im sure the Dreamcast wouldn't have any problem handling this,

  • @dinizgames I dont underestimate it.Its my favorite console, but with research you can make a time line and know that this video and the one in the sidebar both are running on the xbox. The one on the side bar is what the dreamcast version would have been like.Dreamcast one was shown at ects 2000 and fell off the map soon after.after many months its announced for the xbox and the video on the side bar is the 1st to be shown.later around e3 this one is shown. We can continue this viapm if youd like

  • @accel99 i have this game for xbox and its not the same, the armor and the clothes isnot the same , the enemies too, i thnk this vid is for the dreamcast, the modeling and a lot of stuff prooved that this vid is for dreamcast i watched de promo for xbox and itsnot the same.. search on youtube the promo on xbox ...

  • @sonicromer I have it as well, but what Iam saying is that this is more Xbox beta than dreamcast. The dreamcast version was radically different.Any way this video came out around e3 2002/2001, at that time this game was ALREADY confirmed for the xbox.If anything the dc version looked more like Gunvalkyrie Dreamcast (gen16.com) video.(judging from the few seconds of dc footage in the ects 2000 trailer)

  • i so need this game TT-TT

  • The music remembers me on panzer dragoon...

  • Yeah dreamcast still Pwns all these Newb systems who think they are amazing!!!

  • This would explain why the controls were so terrible for the Xbox version; no dual-sticks meant no circle-strafing.

  • Holy crap this looks like ps2 early xbox graphics. I still wonder why Sega hd to cancelled Dreamcast so early

  • c'est la musique de Panzer Dragoon Saga , un bien meilleur jeux que celui ci

  • The DC version wouldn't of looked as good as the Xbox version, but it still would of looked good. Rumour has it that the DC version couldn't hold enough levels so development moved over to the Xbox, but at the same time, SEGA pulled the plug on the DC.

  • I find that to be unlikely.Have you played this game?I love it but its pretty short, hell even shorter than some dreamcast games. Also there isnt any cutscenes and almost no voice acting.I dont think the assets are big enough to be 4 gigs big.

  • Remember that DC games came on CDs and GDs which couldn't really store a lot of data, more so compared to DVDs, the format for Xbox games. It's just what I read years ago.

  • That still doesnt change much. The dreamcast games released during its time were never on cd only gd-roms.which hold a gigabyte of data.(1.2 gb).Thats hell of alot more than a cd.And its pretty close to what the gamecube/psp had for storage mediums. And its like I said, anyone who has played this game could tell you it would have probably could have been a 1 disc game.

  • Some DC games came on CDs like some of the 2D fighters.

  • nope none.I think your talking about mil-cd for the dreamcast. Those were promo items in japan with videos and audio, but NO dreamcast game was ever on a cd.Always gd-roms for games, even ALL the 2d fighters, dont believe looks up the jp covers of those games.the back part says its a gd-rom.Hell I own guilty gearx and it states its a gd-rom.

  • How much are you willing to bet that some DC games came on CD? I've got a UK DC and I have a lot of game, just checked some of them, and some of them come on CD, they're all originals. One of them is Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure. Some of the Capcom games came on CD. Like I say, I've just check so you're wrong.

  • Bah my replys dont seem to be appearing so heres my final try.Listen I googled up the jp cover of jojo and its a gd-rom it says so in the BACK!.Look at your disc theres a low desity area seperated from the high density area by ring that has letters on it.If you dont then you have a fake.Since Iam looking at the offical jp that says its a gd-rom it proves that ALL commercial dreamcast games from 1998 to 2001 are on gd-rom.

  • Well some of my UK games have the CD-ROM logo on them. They're all originals, so how do you explain that?....

  • I already told you how a gd-rom looks like. All you have to do is look at it.You didnt mention if it had a low density area and a high one.You might have a fake simple as that.I wont be responding again.good day.

  • As mentioned, all my games for every console that I own are originals. Some of my DC games have the CD logo on them. The End.

  • And as I mentioned you can physically tell a gd-rom apart from a cd rom by lookin at them IH you really own them(which of that u never actually did I bet).THE END

  • really? I though it was because sega's desicion to support the xbox, never heard of that rumor

  • Dont listen to him he is dead wrong.there is an interview with the director of smilebit though. He stated that they ported to xbox due to the fact the game was built using windows cd(just like their past game hundred swords). Also because ms approached sega.

  • Oops meant window CE.

  • the dreamcast could compete for a while but in the end it would probalby be hard to make games.

    1. Dreamcast controler is awesome except 1 thing, no duel analog ( just put you fingers to the left of buttons and feel that empty space)

2.Used GD Rom instread of DVD, now there is not a problem with this but will cause problems since they would eventualy have to start spliting games up to compete with dvds.

    3.BBA would have helped alot

  • dreamcast did have broadband (but now you have to pay a pretty penny for it)

and sega was gonna make an add on for dvd function and it was able to play dvd games but it was scrapped after dreamcast's passing and im pretty sure they woulda made a dual one like sony did

  • I meant as in already included as for the dvd function thats the first time me hearing it.

  • this proves that the dc can compete with ps2/gc/xbox, I know that the dc is easy to develop for and by that is easy to max the system, but we all know that there was some untapped potential.the ps1 was also easy to deveop for and with a long lifespan developers make games that you would never imagine to see on ps1, like tekken 3 for example, the same happens to the dc. only homebrew developer can show us the untapped potential of the dc,but It will be hard to find one with such skill, :(

  • I think with a back-referenced geometry data structure one can cut on calculations by 40% and shift the performance to just where the Gamecube is. Tougher part is making this cache-cohesive, but this is certainly possible. Cannot beat the Xbox so easily though, except on a count of distinct small objects. Cannot reach the post-processing performance effects of other game consoles, but those are unessential. Otherwise, yeah, Dreamcast could have yet shown how smartly it was built.

  • this game was actually ported 2 the xbox right after dreamcast passed on lol

    proves dreamcast was powerful

  • That music was from Panzer Dragoon

  • the game we see run at 60 fps if someone notice

  • this game does look pretty cool

  • SEGA Dreamcast had show much to show! Why people is so stupid and let Dreamcast fall.. I have Xbox 360 now and have 40 games only the 5 I could say were entertaining. With DC I lost counting... *cries*

  • @sybnios

The people? You mean the dumb ass electrical engineers at sega that designed this machine in a way that made it extremely easy to pirate.

  • @Einhander49 Don't tell me that you think DC failure was piracy?? hahaha sorry dude but I can't do anything but laugh! It was the people! Gamers! that moved over to PS2 which was exactly the same story with piracy but I didn't see any failure... Again with XBOX and X360 full of piracy but no failure... They loose money from piracy of course I don't say otherwise but it wasn't the primary reason, maybe not even secondary!

  • @sybnios, You're right, unfortunately people bought ps2 over the Dreamcast, i also don't think piracy has the main problem, every one can do piracy on the ps2 easily...

Now, i like both consoles, but has a fan of Sega, i sometimes fell like the ps2 should have come out in like 2001, and not on 2000, Sega just need a 1 more year for the Dreamcast, tons of great games were being made, some fantastic ones like this, even GTA 3 was being made for it, 1 more year could have saved the Dreamcast...

  • @dinizgames you didnt need to mod the dreamcast. all you needed was a burner to copy a game. thats it

  • Awesome! It 'a pity ...

  • who said that the dc can't compete with ps2/gc/xbox

  • I can't believe this is dreamcast. I mean I can believe it and I can't. It's just so amazing.

  • this shows that the dreamcast could evolved more!

  • of course. the dc hardly reached its full potential. imagine if dc had a game crafted with the resources and care like what the God of War games did for the ps2. youd have never imagined ps2 games looking that good. i think the shenmue games probably pushed the dc the hardest, and look how awesome they are

  • I'd pee myself if someone ripped a beta version for download.

  • OMG AWESOME GAME!!! Sadly I got the Xbox one...... Dreamcast For Life! XD

  • was there ever gonna be a sequal?

  • why was the DC version cancelled?

  • most likely becuz they stepped out of the hardware biz.also i belive they signed some sort of exclusive titles with ms.

  • wow thats look incredible good for the dc!!!! o.0

  • I remember seeing a prototype figure of the girl character in an issue of Toyfare. I guess since the Xbox game bombed, the figure was never released. Bummer.

  • this is definately a dreamcast version cuz if u played the xbox versoin ull see that her polycount was like doubled(she looks alot less blocky than here)

  • man me and my cousin love this game. Definatly not a game for pansies. Too bad the DC version was never released.

  • i had this for xbox i really couldnt get into it

  • Seeing cancelled gaming footage for dreamcast makes little Sheepys cry

  • Why is Azel's Dragon theme playing in the background?

  • Presumably an official soundtrack had not yet been composed for the game.

  • a mindless button masher against wave after wave of baggies.

  • You misposted this in GV Video...did you mean Ninja Gaiden?

  • Why is it using music from the Sega Saturn Panzer Dragoon series?

  • it isn't but it is very similar to de music from panzer dragoon orta. I have both games for xbox and I know that is not the same. smile bit is the producer of the both games that's why it is so similar

  • The music is actually "Atolm Dragon" from Panzer Dragoon Saga.

  • The thing is that this is beta footage much older than ZOE2 and it doesn't look half bad when compared to it.

  • ZoE2 came out in 2003. Dreamcast was discontinued in 2001. GEE, I WONDER WHY ZOE2 LOOKS BETTER!

Besides, good job comparing BETA FOOTAGE to a complete game.

  • I wonder how you are suppose to play this with a gun...

  • All the cut-scenes, the missing enemies or online play (which was planned) would've made this game the killer-app, but like every single 2-bit corp, sega had to shortchange us and leave it all out when they switched it for xbox.

  • I'm not surprised at how good it looked. The Dreamcast's best games are still good looking, and the machine never got pushed anyway near the limits.

I would have bought this for the machine- and I guess it would have been more popular than the Xbox version. ( especially as a collectable! )

    Thanks for uploading! :)

  • the controls for this game on the xbox totally ruined it

  • true.. but when you mastered them, you felt like your hands were Ninjas and your movement was a constant adrenalin rush. I became so good at it, that it became second nature, fluent movement.

  • wow.. now someone tell me why the ps2 is sooooo much mor epowerful that dc

  • it's not, the dreamcast was a great deal more powerful than the ps2 in many respects.

  • the ps2 can produce more pixles than the dc. all sega had was antialias. if you take a look at any complete dc game and compare the cg/in-game graphics u will see the ps2 does better job.

  • The dreamcast had something called tile acceleration, and could produce almost unlimited geometry because it would render only what the player saw, and nothing else.

If objects overlapped, they would be not be rendered.

This is also called culling or hidden surface removal, and the ps2 AND the ps3 are not capable of it.

Thus, the drteamcast was, and still is more powerful in that repect. the only advantage the ps2 has is DVD and minor techniques like environmental mapping.

  • Is this why the Dreamcast pushes only 3-5 million polygons per second, because it didn't have to render anything more than what we see? I must admit this is the first time I ever learned of tile acceleration. But I'm a DC fan I am always pleasantly surprised by some technique I never knew it had.

  • Dood.... Who ever doupted the power of the Dreamcast no has one more BIG to stfu.....

  • another great game cancelled...to be honest i didnt really like it on XBOX, never liked the bug themed enemies.

  • yes, music is from panzer dragoon saga

  • Isn't that music from Panzer Dragoon Saga?

  • omg !! it looks sooo good :o

  • It's really surprising, but it looked really great on the dreamcast!
