@tomb613 There are plenty of books on the subject. A favourite of mine is 'The Lore of Ireland' by Dáithí. hÓgáin. The Book of Invasions is also a good, but more mythical source. As for "true" history, well there really isnt such a thing. History is pretty much always, though not entirely subjective. Good luck with the reading :)

@iamadamsusername .This has been suspected for the past 25 years and confirmed by both archaeology (few continental weapons/artifacts--lots of locally made copies) and crucially by dna testing, the most recent study from Ireland being last year.. Most Irish people descend from hunter gatherers or neolithic farmers. No one in any part of Ireland or Britain called themselves a celt before the 1700's. The Romans did not call them such either.
