King's and every other choir in the English men and boy choir tradition employ countertenors with the exception of Westminster Cathedral's choir. The two treble lines in this peice are sung by boys. Typical of Blow and Purcell, the tessitura of the alto line can be quite low at times. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that the countertenors are singing in chest voice. Also, alto and tenor lines cross.
@Mattie911legend I was not aware that there are counter-tenors in the King's College choir...I was under the impression the two upper voices were both sung by boys.
@Taenyr In this piece yes. There is two treble lines, and one alto, tenor and bass line. i sing alto and there is tenors singing the alto line. whether there is or isnt countertenors i dont know but i just assumed as i could hear them in some other pieces.
@Taenyr for example, at 2:22 it is, in the copies we have, for Treble,Treble And Alto, but as you can haer the lowest part is sung by a tenor. Anyway it is still a great video
@telucis1 yes, but at 2.22 that defiantly sounds like a tenor and that's a g above middle C

Are the countertenors singing in chest voice :0. We sing this in my choir and there is no way I could sing that as a tenor ( I am a baritone)
