  • Oh, Mark would definitely want a sequel trilogy, there's no question about it, but not a trilogy made by George Lucas. He has seen the prequels definitely and he knows what a disaster sequels would be and that's why he's refusing it.

  • I think Hamill is just kind of trapped. Now he's a comic book cartoon movie voice actor, and that's probably how he likes it, but can't escape the fact that he is Luke Skywalker, because without a doubt where ever he goes, people call him by that name and shit. But I would think if Lucas or better yet someone else, went and did the sequel trilogy he would jump at the chance to now play Jedi Grand Master Luke Skywalker training and building a New Jedi Order.

  • So Padme and Boba are actually the same character. I think I always knew.

  • @stitch99 What was he talking about.. how could they be the same? Sure it's been a while since I watched the movies. But as I recall Boba Fett was the son of Jango Fett.. which has nothing to do with Queen Amidala/Padme.. Can you clear this up for me?

  • @TheUnknownHarbingers

I think he was just giving a wild example of a twist. That would be really weird and probably stupid, but it's a hyperbole.

  • yeah boba fetts "death" always seemed quite pathetic for such a mysterious and menacing character.

  • I think Mark Hamill would jump at the chance to be Luke Skywalker again in a sequel trilogy. The simple fact is that it won't happen.

  • Hans shot first!!!!

  • Of comes the helmet..... O my god its my mother!

  • @grgharrison9 Darth Vader Boba Fett rule 34 anyone?

  • There's no problem with tweaking things here and there so long as it doesn't CHANGE the dynamics of the characters or story. When you add rontos to a shot where no rontos should be or putt Han Solo shooting out of self-defense after Greedo shoots first changes the scene and the story that everyone in a generation grew up with. It's disrespectful to the people who made the film the success that it was.

  • Mark Hamil is awesome!

  • mark is born to be luke skywalker! MARK IS LUKE SKYWALKER!! i can totaly understand why as an actor he doesnt want to do this, but i think that deep in his heart he loves luke as we all do and he would never change the past if he could. NEVER EVER! as long as he stays alive there is always a hope, he would like to taste advanture once more, and i really pray for that day from the bottom of my heart. MARK u are a hero over generations, dont ever forget that! we love you and we always will

  • to nornegest: sorry it Ani and not any there. as Quai Gon loved Ani I meant.

Just have a look Ob always talks of things in an unattached way he cannot quite handle emotions not even his own! At times you that and also you see that he actually loves Ani as much as he is able, but he is not an emotional type and mostly he is not a passionate person like Ani, he cant understand him at all! For him Ani is difficult to take in and handle. I only saw this when I read the book sw1 which is a surprising

  • Well, Klari. I've just about played my hand, and I'm not looking to change minds.

Besides Guinness, the only actor who could do justice to Obi-Wan would be Toshiro Mifune -- who was first choice for the role, btw.

As for the emotional drama. I can't think of a scene in the new films which matched the climax in “Empire”. When I saw it in 1980, audiences gasped and then there was a hush, broken by sobbing from all sides. Never saw anything like that before or since.

    But maybe it's just me.

  • I wish Hamill would put old demons away and consider a new film. I understand his frustration with not making it like Harrison Ford did, and would love nothing more than for Mark to have another shot at the spotlight 30 years later.

In my minds eye, admittingly, I always loved adorable Skywalker more than I did Solo. I feel like Ford's character never changes, whereas Mark has some originality to him, going from Luke to the Joker. But that's just my two cents.

  • Ford's characters***

  • Well said. I often can't help but feel that that Hamill has been the most overlooked hero in the entire Star Wars canon. He may not have Harrison Ford's virile, macho presence, but Hamill's youthful radiance seizes one's heart and doesn't let go.

Maybe late in the day for musicals. But if that kind of film genre had been the main box office draw in the '80s, I reckon that he would have been a leading man for a long time. (Just as Gene Kelly and Danny Kaye were during Hollywood's Golden Age)

  • @Nornegest you see, I examined carefully the story and I actually realized sg. Obi wan is supposed to be cold a bit and he can never love any as Quai Gon did. It is just in the personality and it is deliberate. It is part of the plot, he has to be demandind and not too loving to push Ani towards evil Palpatine who is a master of manipulation and who plays with young affectionate and hurt Ani's heart. If you notice it where Obi wab fails P wins! He always makes Ani feel that he is a friend Ben no

  • "It's like 007 getting his license to kill and then there's no stories to tell."

    CASINO ROYALE

  • lol boba fett as lukes mom XD

Boba Fett: sweety dont forget to brush your teeth before bed

  • Yeah, poor Mark Hamill he can never get out of being Luke. It made him and it destroyed his carrier in the big movies. True, he recovered finely and acted in the theatre and in films that did not arrive to European cinemas and is possibly the greatest voice over actor but it is hard for us, who just wanted to keep seeing him in many films in cinema. Americans have always had him, but us? Sad.

  • give b fett a movie and dont let stupid posh bitches give puns on the news.

  • I wish they had stopped after the original trilogy.

  • ......Han Solo shot first.

  • why do i think this video is speed-up??

  • ...like 007 you just got your license to kill...and its over....good point....LOL!

  • I love all the tinkering of Star Wars. Yeah , you heard me. It's been a part of Star Wars and my childhood since 1978 , in some shape or form. As long as we have the original's on some format , it's all good. Star Wars is forever.

  • 00:07 "I'm Luke Skywalker and I'm here to wreck you"

  • New sequel trilogy would be awesome! I dont care what you Lucas bashers say!

  • @SkinoReturns

well, he did not do so well on the prequel..would you risk some dumb sequel?

  • "The helmet comes off, OMG it's my mother, she's a double agent working for the good guys" I love his way of thinking! But Boba Fett is a cult character, and what happened, is what happened.

  • @nightsaturn yeah, you say something. He is hilarious and an original with a turn for the the funny.

  • I still think it's great how Mark was a fan like the rest of us and was disappointed about Fett, whereas Harrison and Carrie probably didn't even have a clue what the character's name was.

  • I really hope they don't make a new one, and if they do, Mark Hamill MUST be Luke. No one else can do it, plain and simple. He IS Luke Skywalker!

  • Kyle Katarn. 'Nuff said.

  • Fess up, Mark. How much did Darth Lucas pay you to lie about how good the SE's are?

  • Oh c'mon Hammil, if there is an ep 7 (which is very unlikely) he should totally step up as Luke.

I remember an episode of "Dinner with Kevin Smith" He said he was interested in it.

  • I like his haircut :-)

  • If the price was right Mark would be stepping up to the plate. I could see him as a new master for sure starting the order over again....Now that he is older it would be perfect...

  • Technically, LUKE has done that, now it's time for a sequel trilogy with the

new jedi order, and mara and the 3 solo kids.

    come in Lucas we're waiting

  • yeah, but George Lucas should follow the stories in the books, shouldn't he? And they are such a soap opera

  • I still prefer to watch the original theatrical cuts when I watch the original trilogy. I'm a purist like that. Too many unnecessary and dumb changes made, and all the CGI takes away from the imagination.

  • Amen.

  • The old ones are much better, they completely destroyed the sarlacc in ep 6 with the new effects! It's not scary at all anymore, and all those useless scenes where they try to flesh out the "life" in the cities, just annoying and pointless.

But the worst thing is the scene with Jabba in ep 4 when Han Solo walks over his tail! couldn't they either keep that scene deleted or at least turn Jabba around? He'd never accept someone stepping on him, he'd kill Solo right there!

  • yeah i hated that shit too.the whole clam thing...straight up bad design.and that tail thing was just fucking lame.ah at least mark hamill said something aobut boba fett i thought that was just a quick kill get him out of the way type thing

  • Yeah, let's just face it. When George Lucas gains the power of technology, everything is engulfed in darkness. He truly is a Sith Lord!! :O

Same thing pretty much happened with the new movies, overdesigned aliens, overdesigned spaceships, everything to ruin.

There's a joke about Boba Fett only being beatable by blindness, as Han beats him when he's blind. Very lame end for a big baddy. It's like if Vader was defeated by tripping on a banana-shell,,

  • @peaceandmetal88 exactly. these special editions killed it.

  • @komunista94 agree

  • @peaceandmetal88

agree. when it is done it should be left at that. I love the originals and it infuriates me that they are changed.

  • That's a pretty cavalier attitude from Mark Hamill about doing any sequals considering he hasn't done anything that anyone gives a damn about in the 26 years since he last played Luke Skywalker.

Wait, HAS he done anything in the last 26 years?

  • He's done tons of voice acting, some of his most popular and well known voices is the Joker from Batman the Animated Series, Wolverine, I also believe Spider-man. He's been in a huge amount of cartoons doing voice acting.

  • Which of course is more than any of you whiny fanboys achieve in a lifetime. NYUK-NYUK!

  • I Like The Original Trilagy and the clone wars. But there milking the clone wars to death. I Just think for a change of pace it would be nice to hear about Lukes Wife Mara Jade Or Thrawn Who as far as i Know was the only charachter aside from xhizor that were at least as much of a threat as palpatine himself.

  • you need to understand though that everything that Lucas is doing has been planned for ages, he's not milking clonewars he's just continuing the saga as he weant it. There is so much back story with general grevious and what took place between 2, and 3, and than there is 19 years betwwen 3 and 4 that he's gonna cover through the live action shows, dont you want him to continue/? man i can't get enough. BRING IT ON!!!lol

  • Mr. Lucas. I love your work. Lucas= God. Stop being a selfish asshole and let someone else make new star wars movies if your unwilling to. I need another movie like a crack head needs another hit. I read the books but they aren't cutting it. I need a visual. And, NOT CLONE WARS..... SUCKED HUGE ASS!! Oh, hey there, Sky Guy??? W T F??!

  • Mark is gorgeous.

  • Wen I hear of a Star Wars seuel trilogy, I can only ask, "What would they do?" After ROTJ, Anakin Skywalker brings balance to the Force and Luke is a jedi. If they make a sequel trilogy, Anakin wouldn't be the Chosen One and Luke would only be an Obi-Wan type figure to longer jedi. I would be more interested in a prequel trilogy to the prequels since I consider the adventures of Luke, Han, and Leia to be over when ROTJ ends.

  • so whens the movies making the jump to Bluray?

  • I'm guessing 2010 (7 years after Blu-Ray became "the norm") or 2017 (40 years after "Star Wars" came to theaters). And those are my most optimistic guesses.

  • I'm guessing 2011 (3 years after Blu-Ray became "the norm") or 2017 (40 years after "Star Wars" came to theaters). And those are my most optimistic guesses.

  • maybe they would make 7 8 9 but you would have to wait till lucas is gone because he has said there is no story after rotj he always had the back story so it was easy to make the 1 2 3

I know the whole EU has given the time after rotj a story but without the empire the emperor vader is not really star wars in my eyes the only thing I would like to see as a movie is shadows of the empire

  • I'm totally with you on that one. I always thought Shadows of the Empire was as good a story as the original films and that it didn't get it's just due. I'd at least like to see a legitimate video game put out that involves that story.

  • If you read the EU books, the empire wasn't completely destroyed, just scattered.

  • yes it took a while longer to get the whole empime out of the core worlds and even after that they were still around

what I mean by no story I mean he has no idea where he would go with it not that the eu is not there which it is and he could make more good movies

shadows of the empire would have been a good movie for one

  • Go read the books if you want more

  • A little clicky...

  • "Off comes the helmet... oh my god, it's my mother, she's a double agent!!"

    LMAO xD

  • While it would be great for Lucas to film Episodes 7 thru 9 with Hamill, Ford and Fisher, never say never. As Hamill points out in this clip, George Lucas is constantly tinkering with his creation, and Star Wars has such a following, that he could eventually film the sequels with new actors. Some people would dislike that, but I bet most of the fans would go see them anyway...

  • @fortdj33 I agree. people would go and see the new ones if only for berating them! There is nothing to compare to the original trilogy! OK, Episode 3 is quite good has a feeling that Lucas had found himself and the theme again.

  • I know what you mean. I remember catching The Phantom Menace with a friend the '90s. Stunning visuals, but nothing close to the emotional depth of the original trilogy. Beside that, there was a sadness that something was gone, that a new standard was being formed which we felt was far below the old. TPM was certainly exciting, but nothing more.

I missed Hamill, Ford & Fisher in the prequels. Each had one had a particular quality - sweetness, energy and enthusiasm - that their successors didn't.

  • towards Leia and Solo changes them. there is serious character development in the old ones you do not really see that in the new ones and I miss that legendary loving friendship between Anakin and Ben. I expected something wonderful when old Ben said: "And he was a good friend" I saw nothing of that warm friendship in fact, I felt Ewan was very cold and exacting with young Anakin and their relationship was a strained master and student one rather than a friendship! It just does not work!

  • hi, I agree with you on all you say. the thing is, there is no humour or hardly any it it, the characters take themselves so seriously that it makes a parody of the prequels' story. you cannot take it seriously, anymore. it is not credible, but pathetic. also, Luke, Han and Leia have a very special chemistry and they have incredible characters that blend with each other, they are constantly shaping one another. Luke is the one who loves unconditionally,he is beautiful and his attitude

  • @Nornegest hi, I meant the above comment to write it to you.

  • Interesting observations.

Brings to mind a piece of advice someone gave me: The complex interactions of the original trilogy should be kept out when watching the prequels. But I find that they creep back into my mind as I fail to be drawn in.

Part of the problem I think is the new cast. Hardly any chemistry at all and no emotional connection to the audience as a result.

I miss the sparkle of the original cast. It's as if when they left the set of Star Wars, they took everything with them.

  • @Nornegest well, you said it. I think star wars is Mark-Carrie-Harrison. I could not love Anakin for a long time and had an even harder time to accept McGregor's Obi-wan. He was too cold, too exacting and Ani needed more warmth and love and we die-hard fans thought probably along those lines old Ben said as I mentioned earlier about them being friends. Age does not matter in friendship or love, the fact that one is the teacher and the other the student does not mean they cannot be very close.

  • Oh dear. I might be flayed alive for this, but I was never ecstatic about Ewan MacGregor. Did I appreciate his crystalline acting and superb line delivery? Absolutely. But he's not Obi-Wan....sorry.

Christensen's Anii left me cold. Too full of himself, and with none of Sebastian Shaw's dignity or Hamill's otherworldliness.

Portman bored me. I ended up not caring whether she lived or died.

Well, there you go. I suspect I'll be chased by angry mob before the day is done. Vive la difference!

  • @Nornegest well, I am not that severe on them, athough i do not give peanuts about how others are touched by my honest opinion on sg. I actually got to love Ani in sw3! Imagine! I agree with you in that he is arrogant and niot too lovable in sw2. Of course, Lucas has only started to find his former self in sw3 hence it was the bestof the prequels the only one wothy of attention. As for me in time I accepted crystaliine British accent Obi-wan, but I could not really get to love him you could gue

  • @Nornegest guess, from what I said earlier. As for Ani I have got to love him just when he showed more of his qualities and wen his character actually struggled with the decision to remain good or turn evil. Same is true with the senator. Once she was less arrogant and more of a woman in fact, a woman in love and a woman troubled I really started to take to her. I was so sorry that she had to be disappointed in the one she loved! Once I got to love her I endured her a bit more in sw2.

  • Oh and yes...there was always something about Luke for me. Maybe it was that twinkle in his eye. The scenes between him and Leia are warm and endearing...a lot of flirting going on, but innocent without being over-the-top.

And now....30 years later, it's become the target of vicious jokes and raucous laughter.

Ah well, there has to be a downside to watching Star Wars long enough to have your favourite moments ruined for you. :(

  • @Nornegest do not let anyone ruin it for you!! it is nice the there is actually a film without overt sexual scenes and people are just normal and relationships come slowly! Luke and Leia really have something special between them! have you never thought they were a hundred times better suited than Leia with Han? Of course, in the film and according to the story it only makes sense like this, but you can see them more like a couple otherwise. Mark is a very sweet person, lovable + Carrie's magic

  • I think that when you've seen the prequels first and the original films after, the Luke-Leia scenes are quite cringe-making.

That's the standard audience reaction today. Back in the day, people watched the onscreen pair and didn't fixate on any “sordidness” or “incest”. It just wasn't there.

It's sad to see them being the target of cheap jokes, but much of the blame goes to Lucas. Why choose that weak solution to the Luke-Leia-Han love triangle when he could have looked at other alternatives?

  • @Nornegest I have a bad feeling that the first part of my comment is lost. Is it not possible to make a comment twice in the same little box once you have ok-d it? Well, I suppose I will have to write it down for you again. Bother. so, I came to accept Obi wan in time but could never really love him, he was too cold for that. I loved his accent though, he tried hard to be in the shoes of old Guiness, those lines are my favourite when he just sounds as the old man would have. See, cant repeat m

  • Luke's story has already been continued through novels and comic books. To make films of those already written stories would be pointless. Besides, Lucas is having too much fun with the more unexplored, earlier times of his mythology; he doesn't need to ever go back to post-Emperor times again if he doesn't want to.

  • I hope that Lucas makes Episodes 7/8/9 before Hamill, Ford, and Fisher die.

OH,I know. Obi-Wan had a secret clone made of him that wasn't programmed with Order 66 and he has Force Powers, and somehow, a Sith Lord SURVIVED!!!

    OH YEAH

I should write the scripts. xD

  • They're never gonna make episode 7/8/9 it's not going to happen. The movies revolve around anakin skywalker. They are just going to make more books about it. I saw an interview on 60 min. and George said there will not be episodes 7/8/9. Although the only new movie coming out is clone wars, I'm not that excited to see it. Bottomline 7/8/9 will not be made don't get your hopes up, like I did.

  • The only problem with Episode 1 was that the fans expected to much. I mean come on, it had everything fans would want and more. It was a simple introductory movie. It is a six part story, you don't expect it to be climactic right away.

  • They should make a new trilogy but they should really think about the fans i mean episode 4/5/6 were absouloutly brilliant episode 2/3 good but episode 1 i mean come on it was shit you no it i no it also if hamill doesent do it then he ruining the dreams of fans all over the globe.

  • If they made an EU/New Era star wars, Hamill really should be in it!

  • I agree with George Lucas' edits.

  • TK, have you lived in Calgary...ever? Just wondering

  • Still do... have for the last 17 years...

  • sorry guys, I was wrong on the first post. apparently the 4/5/6 characters are being reprised, they're working on negotiations. Lucas plans to have a final script set by 2009 and have episode 7 out in 2010 (approximately, of course). They're also trying to get ewan mcgregor and hayden christenson to reprise as their "force" images

  • Funny.

  • The latest on the Star Wars "sequel" (7,8,9) is that Lucas is working on finalizing scripts, he says he's always had a good idea set down. The 4/5/6 cast is highly unlikely to reprise any roles. Never know though.

  • actually cdowg they added the episode 4 a new hope for the 2nd theatrical run

  • Haven't seen this one before, so thanks for sharing! I love Mark, he's the coolest guy. :) Oh, and to Starwors123456 - he's got 3 kids. 2 sons, a daughter.

  • Glitchy

  • Dude , what happen next when return of the jedi ended is already told its on the books & novels, just go to a local Libary or book store.

  • George has been slowly tinkering with the films since they came out in '77' . So the changes here and there don't really shock me that much. Hell! It's Star Wars!

  • Exactly! People act like that's something NEW he started doing. If you remember when the first movie was in theatres it wasn't called Episode IV A New Hope, it was just Star wars. They didn't do that till they came to video.

  • Are you sure about that?

  • Oh yeah Im positive.

  • Hayden Christensen will probably be the new skywalker.I supported adding him in ROTJ.When I was a kid I thought Sabastien Shaw made a poor Anikin Skywalker after all the evil he did.Dont get me wrong though I definately preffered the original trilogy and still do.

  • mark hamill rocks!

  • mark Hamil is not a gay!

he has kids and a wife you know!

  • but leia...you're his SISTER!!! OMG! O.O

  • lol

  • hahahahhahahahahahaha

did you hear about the "bond' we share?

  • How much kids? And there is a video I made about him. In 1 picture, he is huwith a women. Is that his wife? or his mom?

  • dang he looks the same

  • Is mark Hamill gay?

  • Hey, funny idea! (wonder if Hamill likes to watch things on YouTube?)

  • that would be awesome

  • the funny thing is that noot to long ago i watched an interview with mark hamill and he said there was gonna be 3 more movies and he even explained them...haha funny

  • BOBBA AS LUKE'S MOTHER! Fantastic idea!
