See Piers Morgan's post AGT comments on NBC where he talks about what makes a winner.
At 35 years of age, Kevin almost gave up his dream of becoming a success; he started to devote his time and energies to his daughter (about the same age as Jesaiah) in the hopes that she would realize her success instead.
Perhaps, it was this act of unselfishness that God gave Kevin his dream.
Jesaiah, never give up. Good luck on your journey.
Yes Kevin does have talent! and his talent is not in his voice its in his ability to move an audience! if u cant see his talent then you have no heart.bottom like America loves him and voted for him,he deserves to win.
I doubt too many people are going to make a special trip to Las Vegas to see Kevin Skinner. I have been through the AGT audition twice, I can tell you that the judges make no logical sense. The acts that they consider to be good, are just mediocre, at best. I saw plenty of incredible talent there that didn't make it past step 1. Is this a TALENT search or a SOB story search? When I hear Kevin Skinner sing, I hear nothing redeeming. If he were from NY, he would have been gone the 1st day.
It's about MARKETING and LUCK. You can never these two factors in business. Kevin is lucky because of the SUSAN BOYLE WAVE and for the sake of MAKING MONEY purpose, it is MORE PROFITABLE to PROMOTE more than one DISCOVERY in a single AGT season. Namely, Barbara Padilla, Tenor Five, Recycled Percussion, bla,bla,bla....
To be real, Kevin Skinner isnt very talented as far as singing, but its what he has to bring to the table everytime he sings that America fell in love with.
He's different, he's passionate and he knows how to captivate you, and he did. There's nothing captivating about this girl, no offense but nothing really sticks out about her. You can even see the people not even listening to her. Look at the audience when Kevin auditioned.
Carybaer.
