  • ace!

  • 240p we meet again...........

  • I was always a big blues-based, 60's-style classic rock fan. Just recently I got into the glam-rock era. Bowie, T%.Rex, Slade, Sweet, all great and such fun, good-time music. They killed off the boring hippie era (with some help from Black Sabbath and Zeppelin), and made music fresh again. But I must say, the guitar on this track is razor-sharp! T. Rex rocks!

  • real class dont get any bigger SUPERSTAR

  • Totally unique song, wore out this album in the day.

  • I am 16, and have listened to ALL of Tyrannosaurus Rex/ T.Rex albums from 1967 to 1977, and must say, Bolan has more talent in his pinky than Lady Gaga, Justin Beiber, and the Jonas Brothers have in their bodies combined! A musical genius. I have this album, A Beard Of Stars on the Blue Thumb label, and it must be the most played record i've ever put on my turntable. A music God Bolan was. Rest In Peace cosmic dancer.

  • @VinylLoversRejoice 16-year-olds discovering the classic music of the 60s and 70s gives us older (39, not that old lol) hope that the youth of today still has good taste. Enjoy discovering triumphant music young one! Cheers to you!

  • Make that 3

  • For some, Marc Bolan/T-Rex is as good as it gets for a rock star. Anyone agree?

Discuss amongst yourselves for I am now verklempt from the majesty of this song.

  • @DAVWAVE He certainly was the epitome of a rock star and for a brief, 2+ years there he was the biggest thing out there. I have to give guys like Bowie and Hendrix a big edge, but he is on that 2nd tier of great rock stars.

  • beautiful and brilliant. thank you for posting this reminder of Bolan's unmatchable talent.

  • <3<3<3<3<3.

  • good geetars.

  • The transition at 2.05, is beyond words

  • I have this album. Bought it as an Import here in the States.

Have always thought of it as a treasure.

I have a feeling it is a pretty rare album !

Mind blowing Art / Light show.

    Thanks for posting.

  • fucking real rock superstar .lets hear it for the ELECTRIC WARRIOR !!

  • MINT....... Brilliant..... Peace Out...

  • Anyone who says Bolan can't play guitar should listen to this...Brill stuff.

  • @DOKK212

This one and Lofty Skies, great examples of how well he could play.

  • this still sounds so lovely and magical. i bought all of the original albums one by one as they came out , starting with - - - - stars on their brows" in 67. these early lyrics were astounding, strange , magical, and have never been equalled !

  • this has been a real treat thanks

  • I don't think I've heard this since about '71 - thanks for posting.

  • hello little child ;-)))))))))))) danke

  • is this from 70s? never heard it before....t.rex in his own style, well Bolan of course, is a pure geniuos...he was not undertood before nor today. Bolan must be rediscovered of some way...

  • @cdchirinos Just, it's probably 1970.

  • don't you just love it when it breaks, all the begining is just a lead in to it :)

  • He still is ahead of his time.

  • Marc Bolan way ahead of his time :)

  • Boley got there first again !!! El a mental child ....A lad insane ! Get it ?? So original and so BRAVE !

  • I would love to go to some Marc Bolan fest in the USA. Is that an impossible dream? Is there any Glam events that he might at least be a part of. Although I do not think of him as only Glam, that is certain.

  • trippy video! thanks for posting this song. I can never get enough! :)

  • Absolutely Brilliant, thank You, a great period in Marc's life and mine, i think perhaps he was at his best here, a sadly misunderstood Genius.

  • The Brilliant Marc Bolan, great song writer and poet and a very good guitarist, and so underated.

  • The Great Marc Bolan.Thank you Marc, for your good influence in this World you left behind...

  • my life would be more empty without this music

  • new stuff may be better technically, lots of talented people with computers making songs now. but i think people jammed more back then and lived as if there was no tomorrow, that's why their music had more soul, their riffs sound different, not like a cat's meow but like notes that soar. very cool, it's sad he isn't more famous.

  • 2:08 love that

this songs kind of like a jam theres so many things going on

  • If you can't do something it is hard. If you can do it, sometimes it is easy. Bolan made it seem easy, and sound unique. He is not considered a "great guitar player". I was into Bolan for years and did not hear this song until about 5 years ago, and it is one of his best jams.

Wow, you are right. there is a lot going on.

  • Your Tyrannosaurus/ T Rex sites r a joy 2 visit londenpenda. The music is as fresh as ever, the superb graphics add a new dimension in an age b4 video was popular. Nearly 32 years now, miss u Marc.

  • Thank you Omega ; )

MB's music will never die, it's too good.

    Welcome to YT :D

    Hope to see you around.

  • @londonpenda Never heard this before and now thanks to you it"s stuck in my head LOL, well done

  • Why are Beard of Stars and Unicorn out of print right now? I want them both so bad.

  • thankyou so much londonpenda :D

i love all the early stuff xD

so much better than the stuff that comes out nowadays.. i hate being 14 in the 21st Century xD

  • You're welcome YoshiGirlGina.

Good to now that some youngins have taste ; )

At 14, you've got years of discovering to do..

  • Better than being an old fart like me who can't go back. Live long and enjoy! Great light show!

  • That makes it two old farts dxguy..

    O.O

  • @YoshiGirlGina Well, now you are 15, time flys!

  • God - this takes me right back. thank you

  • Que musico tan talentoso!! Y pensar que hacia esa musica en plenos 60s,!! Marc rocks..

  • im loading all the trex stuff on my play lists what a great invention thought id go nuts trying to find all this stuff in u.s. thank u so much!!!!

  • love this all my trex cds were stolen...breaks my heart

  • All my early Tyrannosaurus Rex LPs went with a divorce;(

  • brilliant, one of the most underated artists ever.some people only know of his "hits" one of the best, still my hero

  • You said it bonamaniac....

    What if..........

  • It Just Gets Better an Better...Your vid and Marc's Guitar in this XXX :)

  • This is nearly 2 years old now...!

    Glad you still like it.

  • This is good on every level. It is almost two songs isn't it? He was always doing that. Marc was entertaining himself and attempting to do exciting songs and had the talent musically to produce over and over again. This is a prime and early example.

  • His music is always exciting;)

    Sorry for the late reply....

  • a brilliant song and a great video to go with it

  • Cheers Eddy;)

  • oh that was so good i can hardly type that guitar blows my mind. hendrix who is he

  • itstoogoodtopassby

"......hendrix who is he" lol, you jest of course ; )

His influence helped inspire this number......there's a bit of Chuck Berry in there too I reckon!

  • not jest the influence may of been there alittle but its all marc bolan lyrics and guitar playing pure brilliant electric makes me forget hen someone? itstoogood

  • this song is unreal=)

  • just pure class.

  • One all time FAV! Guitar Magician! Love Him Always<3 <3 <3 <3 <3

  • Wonderfull.... this is how I remember Marc Bolan. Sadly when he got into the glam crap myself and many other original fans let him go.

  • he was great because he could do it all you could say it was terrible when he moved away from accustic but listening to this i,m glad he did thats for sure he wasa talent not to be put in one box

  • Great work - not just an iconic voice, but boy could he play guitar (as someone else once said!) Always loved this - thanks again :)

  • Agreed Steve from malton.

    And thanks;)

  • one of my favs! love it..

  • The voice and the guitar is jsut so great. Hear this almost every day :D

  • F*****g superb totaly blown away

  • That's what I like.

    A happy customer:)

  • Fantastic,I love this early stuff

  • Same here:)

  • Look at her! All up in my business.Darlin'. "these riffs" and "tab" is musician talk for "I want to play this, where is the sheet music". Jeez, little girls. Gotta love her though, she's quite the busy body. lol

  • *sigh* i have nothing to say to that buffy

  • *Heaving heavy sigh* I'd love to play guitar to my little pretty Elemental Child. I'll be with you tomorrow. Till then, torch girl of the marshes, your kiss is a whip of the moon. I'll be thinking about you.

  • sure u will

  • everyone

  • Totally about "SuperblondeI'mabiggirlnow. Way pretty.

  • shut up and if ur ganna talk about me use my real name plz and thank u!!

  • Wow! Way to lay down the law to me! Well alrightie then, superblondecypris (damnit). Hey all you people, you wanna see a REAL elemental child? Just check her profile. It reads "Hi! I'm Superblondecypris! Everybody wants to be me! Everybody loves me!" She's so right, too. Read the lyrics DAVWAVE was kind enough to print. It's TOTALLY superblondecypris fer sure! This chick is a handful. I wouldn't want her any other way. She's got the whole world wrapped around her little finger. Elemental Child!

  • i do and all i have to do is tug and eberyone comes running i would have it no other way

  • Pure Marc Magic. If the guitar solo at the end section of Elemental Child would have been used in Jurassic Park how freaky would that have been!

Marc Bolan played the most unorthodox style of lead guitar that I have ever heard.

    Absolutely Brilliant.

    Steve

  • Torch girl of the marshes

Her kiss is a whip of the moon

    Dawn's damsels are dancing

To the hum of her sunny young tune

Gems hemmed in the heart's head

The shield of the rivers is hers

She one told me to think white

And the night disappeared like a bird

Hold the glove of gold behind you

    Love the glove of Truth.

  • This riggin' ROCKS!!!

First time i've heard it since God knows when and it's still just as fresh as it was then

Where the hell are the tabs?????????

  • MB's music will never tarnish:)

    Hope you found some tabs.?

  • If he was around, he would still be filling halls and putting out new stuff. He was a prolific composer, with his early fans and adding new ones he would have had continued success. Listen to this talent. It is a guitar and bass. I don't think he even bothered with the congos on this. Most thankfully, no backing caterwauling. Yes, he would have a solid following.

  • I agree DAVWAVE.

    His musical talent was endless.

I saw a vid on YT where he's in the US and he goes into a fantastic set akin to Floyd...Bloody amazing stuff.

  • from above..Elemental Child by Tyrannosaurus Rex with Graphics, enjoy...

    Added: March 25, 2007 ...

I noticed today is the 1 year anniversary of your posting of this great video. I will speculate that Marc Bolan would have had several successful singles & albums & with his natural charisma, he would have a major new following. Bolan's popularity was so huge in the UK most people do not realize it. The general public does not know he was actually bigger than the Beatles were in their hayday.

  • Totally. I freaking couldn't wait to bust off these riffs, so where the fuck is the tab?!!!!

  • wat???? god u confuse me

  • wat u can comment but not message???? huh??? yeah i went there now talk damnit

  • This is a major masterpiece. It has to be heard on a good stereo.

  • Where the hell is the tablature or sheet music to the guitar part for this?!! I can't live without playing this. You wanna get laid? Play& sing this to her and you're in there within seconds. Is there anyone cool enough to tell me where the keys to the kingdom are? I need this tablature. Thanx.

  • From the moments when the electric dragon rose!

Great (since this was from before I subscribed a belated THANX, Ray!)

  • Glad you got here JM.

I've done quite a few of Marc Bs tracks.

Glad you enjoyed the great sounds.

  • Bought this album back in 1970 on Regal

Zonophone best track, oh and Lofty skies, magical moon oh well i liked em all

  • Yeah, anybody believing in the general media gospel that Hendrix made the guitar really 'speak' (absolutely no disrespect here, but...), should take a listen to Lofty Skies;-)

  • Loved it! Take care!

    PeaceouTy!

    TAMMpON

  • Nice to see you again Tammpon me old mate;)

  • A FANTASTIC piece of work, Ray!!!

  • Thanks JM.

I do enjoy doing Marc's music.

    Never tire of his sounds;)

  • There was a great tribute to Marc on Capitol Gold radio this evening, and they played this. Truely awesome!!

  • Fascinating video, and to the sound of Tyrannosaurus Rex's very best song, don't you think?

  • Yes,'Elemental Child' really boogies.

Tyrannosaurus Rex,in my view, hasn't done any 'bad' tracks, some are better than others. I've done plenty more of Marc Bolan vids..
