It was a very enjoyable movie to watch and i probably will see it again on kòòkica(i like to look for things i missed the first time around), but i do believe that it deserved a much higher rating.

@flapperdoodle, just beacuse it touches into an internal search for the meaning of life, it does not have to be religious completely. The final scene when she is approached by the elphant is amazing, is a good thinking flick. We all nedd every now & then to find our place in the universe and look wothin. We may nor not like what we see, but at least we hac=ve the chioce to change if we are ready or want to after all.

I loved the movie....Julia is always a great actress so passionate and emotional even though I don't quite comprehend her struggles she took me on a journey with her. To me, the woman had everything; money and opportunity to travel to these wonderful places, easily made friends there, left a great husband AND cute boyfriend, have men coming after to her all the time.. etc etc I guess some ppl are just never satisfied. It puzzled me at the end when she forced herself to be with that guy... :s

I read the book and I, personally, loved every bit of it. It's a very enjoyable autobiography--it has a nice blend of almost every genre and her writing style is great. Julia Roberts is awesome too; I'm hoping the film is faithful to the book.

The root word of spiritual is of course "spirit," which has various meanings and connotations; but it comes from the Latin "spiritu," which pertains chiefly to the sacred. "Spiritus" means "breathing of the spirit." So basically...life-like qualities. Consider the word "inspire," for example. It literally means to breathe life into something. If a person "expires," the life breath leaves. So spiritual = of the spirit, breathing, living.
