I showered K20D + DA18-55WR few times, but I noticed mysty foggy droplets inside lens. So I DO NOT recommend doing that for fun and I DO recommend to put camera with lens into dry-box after. Seriously.
@xmeda I think the problem you had would have been extream temprature changes causing condensations inside the lens.
Ive had water, beer, milk and everything spilled onto my gx10, The milk got splilled onto it with a non WR kitlens and i ran it under a showr right away (id rather have water than sticky milk in the lens) and the camera was still fine.. and so was the lens.
The 50-135 lens i was using isbetter constructed than the WR kit lens, Id use my pentax in any weather without fear.
This is one of the best lenses manufactured by Pentax on market currently apart from their 100mm WR. When combined with a WR body from Pentax it is the best combo dirty outdoors.
This is the best Pentax Lens on market currently apart from their new 100mm WR. This lens coupled with their high-end bodies is the best combo for outdoors.
I have this exact camera and I know its got awesome seals but this is amazing! I may just rough it a little more now rather than leave it sealed in the waterproof bag for the "near water" stuff.
Yeah, they have. Some fella with a D3 covered his in all sorts of nasty once he got it (milk, juice, applesauce, oatmeal) then dropped it multiple times, and uploaded a vid of the process. Still worked quite well. I'm pretty confident with my K20, but I don't think I'd be doing something like that anytime soon.
Haha exactly. My K20 was about the same price as a D90 these days when I bought it and outperforms everything else I've tried. Next step is one of those nifty 50-135mm lenses.

That's the real weather sealed DSLR.
I wonder if people with other brand dare to try this.

Yea I agree with above. Even though I no my K200D is weather *resistant* It's not water proof lol. Glad It's still working for you though.
mr56k 2 years ago
the gx10/k10d is weather resistant also not weather proof, but i figured it was better to test it in my home to know how it stands up :).
Seems like it could cope with some pretty bad weather :)
Next up.. dunking it in water... (not) lol.
Usuqa 2 years ago
This is no risk, it should be rain resistant, and there are much heavier rains in jungle, than your shower can do .) Don't worry.
