Good question, I've never really shot till the card was full. But, it's definitely more than a couple minutes, probably more like 40 minutes. One thing to remember is the AVCHD codec is variable, meaning, it records at various bit rates depending upon what the camera is pointed at and aperture setting.

@EstleDS, right now I don't have the time to post footage, but I will say this new SanDisk 16gb class 10 USH 1 card has been bullet proof. I'll also try and answer some questions I see posted. First, I'll stick with my own advice in previous post and that is in my opinion, the 100mb hack is too aggressive. You're not going to really see a big difference between that and the 44mb hack, not to mention @100mb, you're setting yourself up for camera crashes. I can only speak for myself, I shoot and

When I formatted the card it just erased everything. Do I have to load the hack everytime I turn on my camera or is there a way to permanently keep it on?

Also, I'm getting lot's of noise in my shots still in lower light situations. This normal?

Hi, please could somebody help me with this. I need a simple explanation of the difference between the different GH17 patches, i.e. Max Latitude/ Blackout/ Reliability and Peak Reliability. I don't need the technical information at this point (that's all I can ever find and as a newbie I don't understand it) just when I should use each one and what conditions each is suitable for. Any help would be severely appreciated! (I'd ask Vitaliy but don't want to get my head bitten off).

Hi maj? I attempted to hack my gh1. So far videos record just fine, but I'm having difficulty with the camera freezing when I browse around the menu, review footage/pictures in the camera. Have you heard of this this difficulty? Thanks

@Khonsaiho it does;t happen to mine but i would suggest redoing the process and see in if it still happens, maybe restore the memory stick properly (not a quick restore) and try again

I don't see how this hack at 100Mb is the most stable. At 44Mb hack with a class 10 card, you point that camera at a grove of trees at anything higher than an f4 and you'll crash that camera. Personally, I think 100Mb is way to high. One thing to remember is the AVCHD format is variable, so scenes, like trees shot at high f-stops with everything in focus and all that detail being recorded is a recipe for crash city. 1st of all, thanks for posting; you make it look really simple which is more than encouraging. Now here is my question, Once the GH1 has been hacked, are there any issues that make the gh1 become defective that you are aware of? I am excited to know that i can hack my GH1 now but also scared out of my mind that it may damage my camera, please let me know if you have any knowledge of my question. @TroxDawg there isn't much of a danger, the only thing i have noticed is that with the super fast write speeds it sometimes messes up and so the footage i shot is lost but it doesn't happen very often. it works great overall

Is it possible to record 100/mbps to a memory card (even class 10) that has a rate of only 20/mbps? Does the read/write speed of the card have nothing to do with that? :-)

@prahphet not sure, it depends on the memory card because some are better than others, my class 2 works just as good as a class 10 even though technically it shouldn't. so i would say yes it's possible as long as you have a good card

@Majidsyed2 Thanks for the reply, I agree. The fastest card I could find on the market was the "Scandisk Extreme Pro" , it writes at 45/mbps. I dont think it matters, but better safe than sorry :-). I also think it truly "writes" only after you 'stop' recording, like after you take a picture it doesn't display until it is written to the card... maybe. Thanks again! ;-)

Once I perform this hack will the MOV be able to record at 1080 24p? Also, 100mbs is a little to unreliable for me when shooting shorts what do you recommend when shooting short films? 24p in MOV or AVCHD? Hope all is well.

hi majidsyed2, really thankyou man for your help ,but i have a doubt , in the link you give , can i find the 44mbs hack? becouse some people say that the 100mbs hack is too much and have problems with cards like trascend class 10 like mine "or they are wrong", and last: you suggest to make click in a lot of options before to charge the hack in the camera or it is atomaticly ? or can i adjust it later in the camera and drop for example from 100mb to 50 or 44mb for exemple?? thankyou very much.

Magnificent video. I have a question Waj. I noticed at the end of the video you said it surpasses the quality of "most" video dslr's. I know the subject is far from a shallow one and quality can be subjective to the user but, what dslr's do you feel it does not surpass? I've spent some serious time researching trying to find out just that.
