I watched a pilot land one of these day and it was the most impressive sight I've seen. He came in with nose down and about 300ft above the runway he pulled up the nose and it was like the plane floated the rest of he way to the runway. He then reversed the prop and stopped in about 500ft. It was impressive.
This summer in june i'm flying for my very first time, i'm takinq off out of orlando and landinq in phoenix, i'm so excited but at the same time im terrified, i want to land at this time of day so i can see that in real life, i think its beautiful. what time were yu landinq at?
Hi there, I have a question. Did it take some time till the aircraft touched down on the RWY? It looked like it to me. Also, for the thrust reverse, do you have to feather the prop, or you have a lever for reverse? I'm just being curious about that. Thanks for the video, nice landing.
You're probably referring to the 'bump' on touchdown. That was the nose gear - of all the PC-12s in our fleet, everyone expects to notice when the nose gear touches down in this one. It 'ruins' a perfectly smooth touchdown (in the pilot's mind, anyway). :) ...and yes, we do try to 'hold it off' as long as possible. As for the reverse, you pull the PCL back to the detent, then pull up on the levers below the handle and continue to pull back to beta, then reverse.
Are you guys the only Native Air flying in the valley? Or are they more than one? I always see the pc12 flying in and out of deer valley; then I always hear the callsign over the radio! You guys sure do fly a lot (and everywhere)...

under flight training does this qualify as a single or twin engined aircraft
trainfreak7745 2 years ago
it counts only as single but it does go toward your turbine time.

reverse lever just like a modern airliner, you pull the thrust lever back past idle into a reverse detent

I love the night landing at a lighted airport - especially on a clear summer night. Very nice.

Very cool video. Looks like an awesome job! I bet AZ gets small in a fast airplane like the PC-12! Happy flying!
